We arrived quite late and Frank kindly showed us to our room and showed us everything we needed to know. We went out for supper and had a fabulous night sleep in comfy beds. My son also loved his specially made bed in the rooms alcove. We prebooked breakfast which was tasty cereals and yogurt with fruit and cheese and then were served our eggs and bacon. Tania and Frank were kind enough that after zip-lining we could come back to the home to swim and relax in the garden after we had checked out so we could cool down before moving on. Very good value for money and we were very comfortable during our stay. Thank you kindly.
I came to Chantilly guesthouse to run a race. I arrived quite late, but the owners were there to welcome me and show me the room. The place is conveniently located. The rooms are big and clean. It is however a bit expensive for a single traveller. Luckily, I had a R200 discount voucher to reduce the price.
Not impressed with our room, even though it was spacious. The furniture is rather old and musty - half a roll of toilet paper in bathroom, no milk in fridge. Although the owner did apologise and offer to sort this out, it should all have been taken care of before we arrived. Such a pity because we were looking forward to the B&B.
My wife and self were offered the opportunity to attend the unveiling of an obelisk to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the 1969 Earth Quake that caused devastation in the towns of Ceres, Tulbagh, and Wolseley on the night of 29 September 1969. On arrival at this guesthouse, we were surprised and impressed by the hospitality of the owners. We were welcomed and escorted to our room where everything was explained and some even demonstrated. Our attic room was lovely. It was clean and the ambiance was relaxing that aided towards a restful night. We were requested a suitable time for breakfast the next morning. The next morning we were again welcomed by the friendly owners at the breakfast where a well-prepared breakfast was served. On completion, we were joined by the owners for coffee and a long chat. We will recommend this venue to anyone that would like to stay in style in a wonderful old English style environment.…
I stayed over for a business trip for one night on a very cold day and night. My room was lovely. It was clean. Beautiful garden, lots of birds and beautiful flowers. Loved the warm fireplace. I was not really impressed, by the hospitality, from the owners, I was told not to take the firelighter with me, I must not forget to give it back.....I did not feel comfortable and felt spied on by the owners, as the landlord was lurking outside my door the evening, I was made to feel like a 14 year old and not the matured responsible well travelled person that I am. I did not receive a warm welcome at all. When I went in search of the landlady or land lord, a little boy spoke to me through the window and said I must come back in an hour. I felt like an invader from outer space. I was disappointed that they could not accommodate me before their normal breakfast times and supply me with a breakfast box as I needed to travel very early the next day. I would not recommend this place at all for a busy business traveller. Maybe it will be good for families or couples. Im not sure. Im well travelled and stay over at many places across the country, this is the first place in a very long time for me, that would not go that extra mile , and also that made me feel so uncomfortable even unsafe as they appeared to be suspicious of me. I will explore other place in Ceres next time where I will feel happy, contented, relaxed and safe.…
