With no expectation of what we were in for, Elgin luxury tented camp (glamping) located in the picturesque town of Elgin, Grabouw was everything we needed for a weekend of tranquility, seclusion and outdoors adventure. Out tent was well equipped, neat, clean and well appointed in a tree lined valley. Our tent came with an en-suite shower, very clean toilet and hand basin. Good quality towels provided, as well as a mini kitchenette in our tent. Good quality linen and bedding with a mosquito net. We had no need for the net as not a single mozzie entered the secure tent. The communal Lapa was a lovely surprise with a fully stocked and clean kitchen, dining area and lounge. The views from the lapa are heavenly and stretch on for miles. The lapa is organised and well appointed to appreciate the glistening lake below and the surrounding mountain and apple orchards filled with pretty Spring blossoms. We enjoyed the lapa facilities all weekend accompanied by a roaring evening fire and good quality champagne. Our host, Jolandie was warm and welcoming. Take the canoes out on the lake and enjoy the pleasant sourroundungs. It’s a great weekend getaway from city life. The six well appointed glam tents have all you need for a weekend romantic escape. No need for additional packing. We will be back. The current Wikideals is a great deal for a priceless weekend of farm life engulfed in a valley of beauty and silence. Note no kids under 10. Couples will enjoy this adventure.

After reading a few of these reviews,I was reluctant to go. However, I am glad that I went! The camp grounds are surrounded by gorgeous nature (I'm talking about some really spectacular scenes), its quiet and the tents and bathrooms are kept very neat. A reminder for others, "Glamping" incluuuuuudes some Camping, so don't be afraid to rough it a little, enjoy yourself, yolo and all that, hehe! You get a bed, clean en-suite bathroom and the use of a full, pretty kitchen in the main house? Its Glamping, all right. If youre at all squeamish about nature, rather try a guesthouse, nothing wrong with that. Anyway, my fiance and I had tons of fun, enjoyed the beautiful scenery and we relaxed our bums off! We did not meet the owner though, and although I agree she could work a little bit on her phone skills, we had a great time. Would definitely recommend.

We arrived at the place with no sign of the owner. The tents are outdated, we had single beds with light duvets not equipped to keep one warm. The fridge is below normal temperatureaking everything icy cold. The lights are dim. The canoes are blow up canoes that leak water into them. I got a call and need to head back into town as there was a family emergency. Yolande, the owner parked me in and said, you just wait there. I was anxious and needed to get out. I waited and that eventually went into the tent and asked her to please move the car. She snarked back that I can just wait, I told her there was a family emergency and she didn't care. The client from that tent then moved her car and wished me and my family member well. Yolandie came over to tell me she didn't appreciate me not just waiting and that I walked into a client's tent. I was furious. She is entitled, rude, does not care for her guests. It is evident in the fact that there is no upkeep at this outdated place and that she didn't even realise the urgency that I was presented with. I will never return there and advise anyone else not go there

Arrived at 13.30 to be met by cleaning staff. Not once during the stay was Jolandie or Zelda seen. Definitely not clamping the tents have the bare minimum, the towels are hard, the chairs and the bed are very uncomfortable. The fridge needs repairing it froze everything. Maintenance to the tents are clearly not a priority. I would definitely not recommend to any of my friends. I suggest you remove glamping from your advert.

Had to cancel our booking and before we could ask te reschedule (willing to forfeit our original payment) was told:”Let me stop you there, we are fully booked to August and we could have had other business.” We will NEVER try to go there again due to such rude customer service.

For those who are not really outdoorsy but enjoy the the perk of no cellphone reception and fresh air, this tented camp site is worth the road trip. Just over an hour outside of Cape Town central, the green hills of apple orchards welcome you to a tranquil site. Each tent is equipped with an actual bed and en suite shower. There is also a mini fridge for storing a few essentials and plenty of linen and blankets for the cooler nights. The Lapa is a well equipped indoor braai and lounge area complete with terrace as well as a kitchen with amenities. I especially enjoyed the free access to the rubber "boat" which we rowed around the scenic river. Overall, a lovely stay and would recommend for beginner nature lovers. Do also visit the local MCC estate - Charles Fox for an informative MCC tasting.

What a lovely place. Our tent was the closest to the lapa, but there were only 3 couples wich were great company. And we felt quite private. Our bed was comfortable and the linen nice and clean. Shower was great. (Unfortunately no soap in any bathrooms) The cat in the lapa is just fabulous. Beatiful views. We went wine tasting in Elgin area and enjoyed coming back with a bottle of wine and a fire. We would definitely come back.

This was the worst experience ever myself and my husband left the place in a hurry at 19:00.. and had to drive around on our first night on honeymoon looking for a place to sleep total waste of money and time. I wont advise people to go there.we felt so unsafe there.

Enjoyed two nights "glamping" (glamorous camping). Test was very comfortable and it was great listing to the sounds of the the forest and bubbling strram while tucked into a comfy bed. Road to tents however difficult for city cars. Site is centrally located to Elgin attractions.

This was our first time camping with my partner, we didn't know what to expect. we arrived late at night, the manager answered the phone to open the gate and directed us to our tent which was easy to find(tent very cozy and clean) for the shower you need to trick it a bit so the water mixes well. the lapa has everything you could possible need to make food. the view is amazing. we are definitely going back again with friends...I would give it a rating of 5 but the cat affected my allergies cos the hair is all over...
