I was very pleased with my stay at The Carriages! The property far exceeded my expectations! All the staff were so helpful and friendly I felt as though I was staying with family! This will always be my first choice when staying in the area. Breakfast was superb, and served beautifully! The little touches were very much appreciated, such as still and fizzy water, biscuits and everything for making tea, especially appreciated when putting up my feet and relaxing in the evening! Thank you for making my stay so comfortable and enjoyable!

Valerie does her best to make her guests feel welcome and rested at the end of their stay. We love her professionalism balanced with a good measure of friendliness. She never makes one feel as though anything is a bother. The breakfasts at Carriages are of such a high standard that they have become our standard by which to measure other establishments. The room was spotlessly clean and there were two small easy chairs and a small occasional table making it very comfortable. We've stayed there twice and both times everything was spot on as far as we were concerned. If you stay over on a Saturday night take some ear plugs as the noise from the pub is a bit loud! Other nights are OK.

Does not look much from the outside, particularly in the rain when we arrived, but believe me it is terrific on the inside. The decor, the rooms, about seven we think, the service and the food and drinks were all great. The only thing that was not so good was that at road level was a nightclub which was rather noisy and kept us awake til about 1.30 am. Worth a try if you can put up with the club.

We stayed one night, last Saturday. Our room was clean, comfortable and was provided, thankfully, with an excellent fan that kept us cool throughout the incredibly hot evening weather we have just experienced. Parking is tricky, in a rear alley behind the front hotel facade, but it worked for us. We didn't have any cocktails in the lounge so I can't comment on that aspect of our stay at Carriage's. Suffice to say that the hostess, Val, was incredibly warm and helpful for all our needs, but especially, many thanks for cooking the best English breakfast we have enjoyed in many a stay away from home. The scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection! And the full bowl of fresh berries and other summer fruit each was unexpected, a large portion, but delicious. As well, the pace of serving us at table was discreetly unhurried but timely. The only downside for us was the karaoke evening entertainment directly below our bedroom, followed by a dull rhythmic guitar beat until the wee hours of Sunday morning. But it was a Saturday in Summer after all, so allowances have to be made.

Stayed at this hotel not long ago and the rooms were lovely! Such a nice hotel and the atmosphere was great. The staff are lovely too. Recently popped back here for a drink in the cocktail bar and the service we received from Donato (Donny) was top class. He couldn’t do enough for us and made us feel very welcome. He’s an absolute credit to the hotel. 100% coming back!

We stayed at Carriages while in Telford for a family party. The room was clean, comfortable, cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. Plus, the shower was amazing. The service was excellent and we felt really looked after by Val. The breakfast was delicious and they had clearly gone to a lot of effort as we were the only people staying that night. This was really appreciated. The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars was because of the night club nearby which was a little loud when we were trying to get to sleep. We slept fine but if you are a light sleeper I would recommend earplugs. But please don’t let that put you off this lovely hotel. I would highly recommend Carriages and would definitely stay here again!
