Convenient stay over. Braai’s needs attention. Ablutions are clean and functional. Good facility’s with adequate space for setting up. Conveniently placed power points with wash up locations at each camping spot.

Red Sands Country Lodge is the perfect stopover on your journey from Johannesburg to Kgalagadi NP via Upington. Just 15 km past Kuruman, turn off the N14 and enter through the first security gate. You'll find yourself driving through magnificent red dunes and a park filled with wildlife. In just five minutes, you'll arrive at a lush oasis, home to pristine chalets and camping spots.

Imagine being surrounded by vibrant birds, friendly llamas, and playful sheep and goats, all under a breathtaking starry sky. The first impressions here are simply magical. The staff are incredibly welcoming and provide outstanding customer service. The food? Absolutely delicious, featuring a fresh and varied salad buffet at dinner.

The prices are very reasonable, especially given the top-notch service. The chalets are spotless and fully equipped, and the showers offer a refreshing, powerful jet—just what you need after a day of travel.

This was my third stay at Red Sands, and it never disappoints. I've previously stayed at Lavender Lodge and Petry Guesthouse in Vryburg, which were good, but Red Sands is in a league of its own. I’ll definitely be back for more!

I travel a LOT for work and do not give credit too easily. In this case, it will be my pleasure...
We were a group of five, sharing two self-catering bungalows, for a strategic planning session over two days/nights.
Night one we dined in the restaurant, and it was great. We all had different meals and every one of us were impressed. Service was efficient and very friendly and relaxed. The vibe was good with a few other tables also in.
On night two we not only self-catered but received 8 friends as guests. To arrange this properly we needed extra-ordinary requests filled. The Red Sands team went way above and beyond to accommodate us, brining in extra tables, extra crockery, and even a fire conger. The GM himself did most of the running up & down in his bakkie.
Rooms and facilities are great, with many of the little things that annoy me elsewhere not a problem here, such as convenient power points for charging phones bedside, place to put down your personal stuff in the bathrooms etc. And the setting, well it's just perfect Kalahari!
Most noticeable of all however, is that the team are a happy, pleasant, willing and friendly lot. Altogether a great experience!

A great option for the long roads in the Northern Cape. Excellent assistance, and being able to arrange for a very late arrival, with keys to be collected from the 24-hour guard on duty, is brilliant. No issues finding it and getting in, and made for a welcome stop-over. Wonderful touches like the little box of milk for tea and coffee, as well as enough tea and coffee available, really makes it an easy recommendation.

Second night my wife did not have hot water. But overall beautiful location clean and well kept rooms. Animals sitting in front of our door was amazing when returning from a long day at work. Wifi would of been nice due to the lack of MTN sign

We stop over at Red Sands on our way to Cape Town. As always the accommodation was excellent. We also had dinner at the restaurant and it must have been the best steak I had in 2022. Also a big plus was that the owner had a generator which gave welcome relief during loadshedding.

Everything was lovely except bed was too hard for us. We had dinner of kingklip and it was delicious.
Saturday night buffet was rather expensive for us as we are elderly and have small appetites.
we have stayed at Redsands many times and have always enjoyed our stay

We thoroughly enjoyed a one night and decided the next visit will be at least two nights. The dinner was delicious and overall accommodation very pleasant. We had over many years passed from Kgalagadi to Johannesburg and now wish we had used those times to have stayed. Well deserved place to stay. I have recommended Red Sands to many others taking reviews from others on Facebook and certainly was not let down.

First thing to notice is the really red, red sand all around. Lovely place. Restful, quiet but friendly and welcoming. A truly good lodge positioned just below the luxury lodges (with their high prices) but offering all that a discerning traveler would want. Highly recommended.

We started our journey to see the Namakwaland daisies at Red Sands. After a short drive on the dusty roads, we were welcomed in the afternoon by the warm smiles of the team, and promptly shown where to go, and what amenities were around us. The chalet was clean, sizeable and what was needed for a good nights sleep. A walk around the chalets, caravan park and farm yard, ended up with a sundowner before dinner. The dinner was amazing, and probably the best Eisbein I’ve ever had, anywhere in the world. Breakfast was as good whilst we chatted away with other travelers who’d recently journeyed through Southern Africa. It’s a fantastic stopover if you need to be in the area.
