Casa John forms the last outpost on the Tofinho Beach, just 20 kilometres south of Inhambane. Casa John offers 6 luxury self-catering units, 3 six sleeper units and 3 four sleeper units. Its position provides spectacular coastal views, the sea spray tingling the decks of the six luxury houses. Resident whale sharks loll in the immediate waters, competing for space when migratory Hump Back Whales make their appearance from early June to October. From the living areas, dolphins can be sighted chasing their catch, frustrating sea birds and interrupting your afternoon siesta.
What a joy to arrive at Casa John after a couple of long days in the car. We booked 2 x 3 bedroom units and they were stunning. Lovely accommodation with plenty of space - the various entertainment/living areas are perfect for groups. The views are sensational and being able to watch Whale Sharks from the deck was a wonderful bonus. We were concerned re how Covid restrictions would impact our trip but we were able to do absolutely everything - we walked, we boogie-boarded, ate out at the fantastic local restaurants, cooked fresh crayfish and all-in-all had a superb holiday. Lovely and helpful staff. The pool under the palm trees was well-used. Overall Casa John is beautifully maintained and we'd love to go back soon. Highly recommend.

We had a very nice stay in Casa John, the location is very nice, you can hear the ocean from the porch. The place is very clean, although, because it is a bit old, the decor is already passed and the house could use a general revamp.

Casa John is still a good self-catering option, the houses are good for family holidays and is safe, but it needs to keep it up; we were surprised to find that they don’t offer any shower gel or bath soap. On the first night no one was there to give us the keys to lock the rooms, although safe, is uncomfortable to leave the doors unlocked specially at night.

The chalet has two bedrooms separated by the living area. It was great that we could (out of season) get a reduced rate for just one bedroom. Excellent facilities and wonderful view from the balcony. The pool is large and well maintained. The staff were helpful when approached but need to give more information on arrival eg the wifi code

If you are looking for something special this is the place to be. We stayed in a 2 bedroomed/2 bathroomed self catering unit (H6). Undercover parking. Each room had a double bed with an extra single bed. Shower only. Very private and the sea views are amazing. Free Wifi. The unit is fully equipped with mosquito nets, very comfortable beds. The sea breeze at night was perfect especially this time of the year. Gas braai is provided at R 200.00. A big thank you to Dominingo and his Team for always being available when we needed them. All the units are well maintained. Beautiful trees/plants surrounding the various units. A plus was the beautiful big pool with loungers which is used by all residents at Casa John . Laundry is R15.00 per load. There is a lovely well stocked supermarket/butchery that is about 2km's away. A chemist as well. If you want bread you must be there early i.e 9h30. Rolls can be bought daily from the locals, between 5 to 7 Meticus each. Not much fruit to choose from - mangoes in abundance. You can get potatoes, onions, tomatoes, cabbage, lettuce from the locals. Good restuarants - "Sumi" in Tofo (Asian) - amazing food and The Green Turtle Beach bar and Restaurant in Inhambane - A MUST!! If you drink and book a table you can use the undercover relaxing beach loungers (they only have 2) so arrive early 09h30. The pricing is expensive but worth it. The Mojito's (Basil or Mint) are a must. The calamari salad sooooo delicious. You can also try the restaurant at Casa Barry (on the beach) that does delicious burgers and then of course their is C-MEW across the road from Casa Johan - delicious food all round. Hosts Linda and Corrie - made our visit even more special. Corrie offers deep see fishing trips as well! Overall a wonderful RELAXING HOLIDAY - a must is to register on Drive Moz so that you can get updates on what is happening in MOZ especially at the border posts. It took us 16 hours to Casa John - 20minutes at the border - left 19/12/18 and on our return on 2/01/19 went via Swaziland border.…

A wonderful family stay in a very comfortable, well equipped house. We were well taken care of by Andre. Close to the Tofino Beach, a 5min walk, we loved the beautiful sunrise from the deck, we will be back.

My wife and I went to Casa John for 10 nights and fell in love with the place! The unit we stayed in had 3 spacious bedrooms all with mosquito nets and two bathrooms both with showers. The kitchen is very spacious as well and has everything you can think of! You dont need a 4x4 to get to the place although a vehicle with good terrain clearance is advisable. The staff were so helpful and are always available to assist with anything. From the balcony you can sit for hours and look at the wales and dolphins very close to shore! From a mobility point of view, I am in a wheelchair and the unit we stayed in is flat and there are ramps everywhere! The staff were aways helpful when I needed a hand to get onto the beach! Local fisherman sells prawns, crayfish and fresh fish every morning! I cant say a bad thing about the place at all and will be back again! Thank you for an awesome stay!…

This self-catering accommodation is a couple of kilometers south of town, secluded, with great views of passing whales. There is also a pool. The villas are huge, with a separate bedroom/bathroom connected by a covered patio. The kitchen is amazing. There is every utensil and appliance one could possibly think of, more really. There is a huge dining table and the living area is comfortable. Outside, the patio has a table and chairs, a chair swing and other chairs for sitting. The beds are comfortable. The staff is attentive. For transport, walking is not a bad option, but the dive/adventure shops will provide pick up and drop off, too.

Well equipped, our self catering villa had a small private garden and nice balcony from where we had a nice view over Tofinho and the sea. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The local manager, Mr. Domingos, is very helpful, discreet and professional.
