We had a wonderful week at the Althea Village. We booked only 2 weeks before and we’re a bit sceptical about going to an inclusive hotel as we always stay in small self catering apartments in Greece. We didn’t have to worry, the holiday exceeded our expectations.
Everywhere was very clean and the staff all attentive and friendly, special mention to Giorgios in the restaurant.
The rooms were comfortable and well appointed probably the best bathroom we have had in Greece.
Food choice in the restaurant was always varied and never ran out and we didn’t have to queue, overall we had no complaints about the food and enjoyed every meal. We especially liked the snack bar at lunchtimes and sat enjoying a glass of wine and a gyros.
There was a mix of lots of different nationalities and not many English which didn’t worry us, not sure if this is due to time of year or Covid travel restrictions.
Definitely worth a visit to Chania which is only 10euros in a taxi or the local bus is easy too, we enjoyed a delicious meal in one of the many restaurants on the Venetian harbour.
Overall would recommend the Althea Village, just what we all needed and wished we could have stayed longer than a week.

Hotel is an all inclusive hotel. We went as 4 person family party, had booked 2 separate rooms so kids age 13 and 15 could have their own room.
As we checked in, we were offered an upgrade for free to a family villa, that was in in 2 levels including 2 bedrooms, family room, 2 balconies, 2 bathrooms and an private very spacious roof terrace. Needles to say, we accepted the offer. Thanks again for the the hotel management for the great surprise.
Room/s were tidy, looked like not so long ago renovated. They were cleaned daily. All rooms had air condition so you could set temperatures to each area separately.

Food in the hotel was good, plenty options for everybody. Different selection every day in the buffet so everyone could have their meat/fish/veggies as preferred. During daytime there was a self service snack bar that served fresh gyros, hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken nuggets etc.
For the all inclusive drink bar there was several cocktails to have, obviously drinks were not as strong as in normal bars but you could taste the alcohol. Local beer were also from tap self service style, with same thing as the drinks, not so strong but good for the thirst.

Hotel has 2 larger pool areas, other was more for the families with smaller kids, pool was a more quiet one. Main pool area had music played all day from load speakers and daily activities operated by TUI activity group. So small games, quiz's, water exercise etc. were happening around the main pool all day long. Most of the guests were from Nordic countries but everything was done in English so everyone could understand.
Night shows were done by the same group, every night had a different theme so it was nice too. All shows ended at 11 PM and same time the all inclusive bar closed, drinks/beer was still available for money.

Hotel area was nice, garden planting were maintained nice, plenty of different fruit trees and other plants.
Going to the local small shops/markets took about 10 minutes walk from the hotel, to the beach around 15-20 min.
As an conclusion we had a very good time at the Althea village Hotel and didn't find anything bad to say about our stay. We recommend the Althea for families, or couples that want to the it easy and enjoy good food and the weather.

We stayed at Althea Village for two weeks, for our honeymoon.

On arrival, we were greeted with very friendly reception staff who showed us to our room. We stayed over the road in the other part of the hotel. The room was beautiful, spotless and overlooked the pool. It had everything you needed, as we were staying for two weeks we requested a kettle and the next day the cleaners left one, nothing is too much trouble.

The food was great, we were worried it might get a bit boring for two weeks, but we can honestly say, we didn't have one meal we didn't think was brilliant. The snack bar was brilliant and the gyros were incredible.

The all inclusive drinks are great, other reviews say they could be watered down, which they could be but we didn't notice it and if you are wanting to mix your own drinks, you can just order a spirit no problem.

One of the best things about the stay was the TUI entertainment team, Laura, Lauren, Tilda & Hope. They work so hard keeping everyone entertained but they're never pushy or too much, we really enjoyed getting involved in the activities and the evening entertainment was brilliant.

We had a few nights away from the hotel, we'd highly recommend Dimitris around the corner, and Chania is great for daytime shopping and meals out in the evening. The number 21 or 15 bus will take you straight there, and number 15 drops you right back at the hotel.

All the staff here are so hard working, friendly and accommodating, we wouldn't hesitate to book here again!

I recently went to Greece for a friends wedding and a group of 13 of us took the opportunity to book in at Tui Suneo Althea Village. I sadly left my booking too late and could not get in for the week, as the hotel was full but I booked in from Friday to Tuesday, whilst my friends and their family took advantage of the Wednesday to Wednesday package. I stayed in a local BnB for Wednesday and Thursday night, before joining my friends, and Tui Suneo were so accommodating. You can easily gain a day pass or simply pay for your drinks as you like.

From Friday...I felt like royalty! The reception staff are so friendly and knew my circumstances and made sure I could book in early, also to get to the wedding we were there for. I was already in the area, but the hotel have a shuttle service to and from the hotel and you do not need to hire any car. When you arrive, your room is well spaced, luxurious and you have all a TV, living area and bedroom and huge bathroom. I even had 2 balconies overlooking different areas of the hotel. We had the best housekeeping who were promptly at our room every morning at 10:30 with a smile on their face and fresh towels.

We spent a majority of our time around the pool and the bar staff are amazing and Yiannis (John) at the bar is so welcoming, friendly and just knew what we wanted to drink. His Bloody-Mary's are out of this world and I still miss them.

The all you can eat buffet was different for every meal and my all time favourite was the Mexican night! The staff are so quick to clear your plates and must have sore cheeks they were constantly smiling and happy. The restaurant manager is unbelievable and I was excited to see his happy welcoming grin every time we went to eat.

I do not have children, but that did not stop us from getting involved in the nightly disco, water polo in the pool in the afternoon and we even had a quiz night! This village offers something for everyone and so close to a small local town and beach! We wanted for nothing, we were so well looked after and this is by far my new favourite destination. I really do wish to come back. I highly recommend this as a go to holiday spot! Book now, you will not regret it!

Absolutely great hotel. Also absolutely four star worthy. Clean and nice spacious rooms, a beautiful garden, feels very cosy, very nice staff and animation team. Upon our very late arrival, they presented us with a tasty snack, although the kitchen was closed. At the day of our very late departure we could use changing rooms and showers next to the lobby. The hotel staff gave us fresh towels to shower with, so we could enjoy the whole day at the pool (even after checking out of our rooms at 11:00 hrs) and still go refreshed on our way home.

Why only four out of five dots? The food. It was hot, fresh and prepared well, but not to our liking. For a vegetarian who does not like mushrooms there was really not that much to choose from. So seven diners of spaghetti with vegetable saus it was. Very good spaghetti, but still, a bit of variation would have been nice. The night with Mexican food was delicious. I'd advice the management of the hotel to do more of those themed dinners and give more vegetarian options.

We cannot begin to thank Stavros, the hotel manager, and his amazing team enough for a fantastic holiday in a beautiful hotel village. Having travelled all over Greece in the last 30 years, no room has ever matched the luxury of our room at the Althea Village. Clean linen every day, free air conditioning, a safe and stylish bathroom. Nikos, the restaurant manager, went above and beyond. His restaurant is spotless and serves a varied selection of world cuisine, every day a whole new selection. Stelios and the bar staff are brilliant. Great selection of all inclusive drinks, and perfectly made cocktails. Lauren, Laura, Hope and Tilda, the Tui entertainment team are brilliant. Always available for a chat, a laugh, and advice if needed. We will definitely return one day with our grandchildren. Yamas to all the team.

Group of 6, all ages, stayed August. I would describe this as Full Board +, not AI. Some items, like ice cream, is only available for restricted hours. The snack bar is fine when open, main restaurant has a fairly good selection, plenty of meat and fish (often in sauces) but not much vegetables or planned food. Desserts were mostly made of flavoured mousses but decent none the less. Small selection of AI drinks, pre made and not good cocktails includef. If you want to drink the good stuff be prepared to pay at prices the same as restaurants in Chania harbour. Disappointing and we aren't big drinkers. Hotel is about 5-10 minutes walk to the main road for buses and a few tavernas and restaurants (be warned it's a busy road with offices, car showrooms etc). Rooms were fair, showing age a little and lacking storage for 4 people. Newer bathroom with an odd shower, no door and level with the floor of the room, making it impossible not to soak the floor. On the positive it's clean, accessible for those with mobility issued and all of the staff are excellent. Plenty of sunbeds, breakfast is excellent. Entertainment isn't Broadway but fulfils its role and the girls are very good and work incredibly hard. Overall it's reasonable but nothing exceptional.

My fiance and I decided to spend our first holiday in Crete at the TUI SUNEO Althea Village hotel. We chose the all-inclusive option and we were very pleased.

The hotel is located near the beach (approx. 1 km) with a beautiful view of the mountains. The hotel itself looks like a charming village with a well-kept garden and plants, which adds magic to this place. The photos presented in the travel agency bureau did not reflect the same impressions during the stay. They were much better. We were definitely positively surprised.

Receptionists, waiters and other hotel employees know English very well, but also other languages. If we had any questions, we always received nice answers and could count on help.

The room we got was very comfortable, large, equipped with air conditioning and a safe. The rooms were cleaned every day and towels were changed (at the guest's request).

The center of Chania is only 4 km away. Taking a taxi costs about €12. If you choose to travel by bus, it costs €1.10 and takes about 20 minutes.

The food itself was delicious and the selection was huge. I must admit that the desserts were wonderful! Drinks, including alcohol, were available from 10:30.

Various attractions are organized every day for guests (karaoke, performances, quizzes) in a family atmosphere.

I would like to thank the manager Stavros Valyrakis once again for greatly helping me with my engagement.

This vacation will truly be unforgettable and we hope to come back.

We had a fantastic time at TUI Suneo Althea village, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The room was big, bright and comfortable, all the food choices were very tasty especially the gyros 😋
The entertainment team Jay, Gaia and Ellen were all brilliant, very friendly and funny and put on some fab entertainment.
I also want to say a special big thank you to the hotel manager for making my day by putting a bottle of prosecco and fresh fruit in the room as we were celebrating my birthday, what a lovely touch and even called the room to personally wish me a Happy Birthday.
We couldn't have asked for anything more, great holiday and we can't wait to come back.

Just back after the most amazing week. Seriously cannot fault this place at all, it was one of if not the best places I have ever stayed in.
Upon check in , the lovely receptionist left desk to show me exactly where my room was. I was blown away with my accommodation, the room both upstairs and downstairs were fabolus, spotless clean, with fabolus views over one of their beautiful pools

The complex is beautiful, 3 pools, plenty of sunbed, spotless clean, credit to the cleaning crew

Entertainment was great, always something going on, the four girls , Laura, Tilda, Hope and Lauren seem to take great pride in their jobs, they spent time chatting and getting to know the guests, they were great fun, always something going on

I enjoyed the all inclusive food and drinks, Nikkos the restaurant manager was very friendly. I enjoyed the variety of food and loved that you helped yourself to beers, wines, minerals and coffees

Hotel manager Stavros, lovely guy to speak with, always around should you have any questions, and always stopped for a chat to see how you are getting on

Location was perfect, didn't need to leave the hotel but who would take a trip to Chania and not take the bus (€1.50) or taxi abou €10.00 into old town, which is absolutely stunning, also short walk to the fabolus beaches

Can't wait for my next trip to Althea Village , 10 out of 10 for me, keep up the good work
