Stopped over en route back home. The self catering accommodation was clean and adequately appointed. Elmarie is a friendly and helpful host. The staff were also very friendly and we were made to feel most welcome. Recommended.

Let's be honest, you're probably stopping in Calvinia on the way to somewhere else, so you just need a place to park for the night. The staff here were extremely helpful, very pleasant, and helped make our stay very good. You're right on the main road, but there are gates, and each of the campsites has its own little toilet and shower hut. Although a very small campsite, we managed with our large caravan without problems. The left gate has low branches, so if you have a high caravan, use the right gate. But it's pretty obvious as you can see the entire place from the gate.

We spent the night in the white self-catering cottage. We chose this as it seemed lighter than the other cottages. With a db and two singles, it was very large, and good value. We were in need of a good night's sleep, and found the db very comfortable indeed, and had the best night's sleep in days. There were mosquitoes, so be sure not to let them in through the large windows and door. There were smaller mesh-covered windows which could be opened. With the aircon on, and a lit Tabard, we survived the night without a single mozzie bite. The hostess is friendly and approachable. We highly recommend this venue and would definitely stay if ever again in the area.

Slept over in a comfortable double room. Room was a bit tired and need some TCL. Light cord was too short to reach the wall plug and shower did not drain. Friendly staff that promised to attend to the shower, etc.
