We only stayed one night, unfortunately, but we wished we could have stayed longer… From the first moment on everything was perfect: the helping and friendly staff, the lovely cottage that was so big that we could play hide-and-seek. The food was delicious, homemade and nothing was too much: f.e adaptations could be made to the menu. And then the view: sensational and amazing! I highly recommend this lodge!

After reading the recommendations of the Great Jan Bakker, we came to Isunga with high expectations. Alas, they were exceeded. The view is marvelous, the food delicious and the staff excellent. The tree full of Weaver birds provides a spectacle suitable for the best nature documentaries. The lodge is very well maintained and the common area is cosy. Like Jan, I would highly recommend staying here.

We spent two nights at Isunga Lodge on the edge of Kibale NP. Great lodge offering very nice facilities, friendly staff, good wifi and excellent food. Gorgeous views over the rainforest. The nightly walk from the restaurant down to the individual rooms can be a bit daunting, but torches are offered in the rooms to make sure you can find your way. Beware of safari ants on the pathways. A very enjoyable stay - we'd happily have added a few more nights. Definite recommendation! :)

Every couple of years you find a place that stands out from the rest. Isunga Lodge is one of these. When you arrive you are treated to a spectacular view of the surroundings, Kitale Park, Queen Elisabeth Park and the lakes. Going to your cabin, you pass a landscaped gardens with lots of flowers and birds. The cabin consists of a bedroom, a bathroom, a lounge and a terrace with the same spectacular view and it is absolutely private. On top of this, the Scottish owners have a well trained and attentive staff. When I was out watching the chimps and left my wife in the lodge because she did not feel well, staff checked on her and brought her fresh tea every hour. The combination of a top location and excellent staff is rare indeed. The meals we had were also very good. This is a place that everybody who is in the neighborhood should visit. Highly recommended !!

The nicest lodge we stayed while on safari in Uganda. The owners are especially welcoming and pay close attention to every minor detail to ensure the highest quality experience. The cuisine is far better than most of the country and every dish is created from local organic ingredients
