Our camping club decided to spend our Xmas rally at Fynbos. We have never camped there before as a club. Maurice, who runs the campsites, was very accommodating in allowing us to visit the place beforehand to check its suitability for our caravans. Our stay was very pleasant. During the day we explored Wolseley. Surprisingly lots to do and see there. In the evenings we sat around the central fire pit on sites 7 & 8. The ablution block was small but clean. We also made use of the lapa area next to the splash pool for our meetings - very convenient. Some of us had breakfast at the Fynbos Cafe and Farmstall which is conveniently located a very short distance from the campsites. Staff were very friendly and courteous. The breakfast were wholesome and substantial. We also met Peter who runs the farmstall. He too was very friendly and always came to our table for a quick chat.
Overall, a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. Thank you Maurice and Peter!
If you have young children, they will definitely enjoy their stay as there are lots of animals for them to interact with,a play area and a splash pool. One thing I do need to point out, there are no water taps on the individual campsites. Running water is only available at the ablution block / scullery area..

We found this campsite to be friendly with the added bonus of being close to rescued animals. Our pitch was shady and large, with shrubs and trees all round for privacy. We had a view of the surrounding mountains. The toilet facilities were clean, nicely decorated and functional. We felt welcome and friendly. We were free to wander around seeing all the animals and went on the marked pathways around the farm. There is also a restaurant/gift shop a short walk through the farm and down to the road where we had a great meal and bought locally produced gifts. We enjoyed it all.

Delightful stay at Fynbos Guest Farm. So much love and care has been put into establishing the campsite. The amenities were clean and comfortable. Not too many sites so very peaceful, even on New Years Eve. The animals are clearly loved and it is amazing being so close to such a wide variety. Enjoyed the hiking trail and loved visiting each animal repeatedly. Can visit Tulbagh which is nearby but even just relaxing at the campsite is wonderful. Electrical points available and own braai. There is also a braai in the splash pool area, which seems great for groups to hang out. Will definitely be returning.

Unfortunately the Fynbos Guest Farm was very close to a busy road, so it was continually noisy. The swimming pool was tiny and only two people could fit in it at a time. We were charged a change in booking fee, when we were assured by the owner that no charge would be made. There was no grass at all on the camp sites and whilst it was supposed to be rustic, the whole place was tired and in need of a bit of care and attention. I'm sure that there are better places to stay in the area and would not recommend this one.

Fynbos was exactly what I expected when I chose a farm stay. Cottages are charmingly rustic and the log fire very welcome on a rainy winters day. Feeding the Llamas and other animals is such a treat. Lovely setting with a view of the mountains. Being able to take our dogs was a real bonus (even into the restaurant) and having the huge but very friendly farm dogs pop in and out was fun. Loved the beautiful little medidation hut and trying to calm my mind walking the forest labyrinth. We had excellent breakfasts at the lovely farmstall/cafe on the property and they have a great range of gifts to buy. Best of all though was that Peter and Maurice literally made us feel at home and treated us like family. They are so warm and welcoming. Very special. I would love to take my family back sometime.

We can see that a lot of time and effort has been made in setting up this establishment and the peace and tranquility it attempts to create. We enjoyed all the 'zen' sayings and atmosphere and the artistic bits and pieces round the place. Unfortunately the cottage we stayed in was very dirty - the dust was thick and probably had not been cleaned in months which kind of put us off, even though it was very quaint. It was also very noisy with the peacocks and the traffic from the R46.

We spent 3 nights at Fynbos with our family and our children loved everything about it. Being able to spend hours riding around on their bikes, watching the animals and just simply being outdoors-it was fantastic. You feel incredibly safe in your surrounds and the setting is beautiful. In fact, they were so busy, we had no choice but to just chill because they didn’t need us to keep them busy.
The only 2 ‘cons’ were the size of the plunge pool (cannot reasonably accommodate more than 1 medium sized family at a time) and the fact that there is only 1 ablution block with 2 toilets and 2 showers each for men and woman.
We will be back

We appreciate all the effort Fynbos did to make our stay so memorable!

It was the welcoming staff, cooling pools, neat and safe cottage, and especially the bottle of FRESH milk & beskuit, combined with GOOD plunger coffee for the morning😊

Our 4 year-old enjoyed every piece of the farm! The interaction with the variety of animals by feeding them carrots and the occasional hen coming closer with her chicks at her ankles. One of our favourite encounters, was admiring the pride of peacocks, with their stunning rainbow feathers as they walk past you. My son of course picked up a lot of these feathers to take home!

Our final evening, the owner came by to show us their beautiful horses as they galloped back to their stables for the night. Seeing them care for so so many animals in need, was an eye-opener and I appreciate the few places and people like them in the world!

We will definitely be back soon! Thank you so much Peter & Maurice!

Was amazing to be with the animals, the host was extremely considerate and let my daughter groom, feed and sit on one of the horses, although technically riding is not permitted. Beautiful venue. Charming environment, with attention to tranquility and a kind of Zen ambiance together with nature. Some lovely animals are residents too 😊. The cottage was equipped but pretty basic.
