Last FRI 5/6 was my wife’s Birthday…even though we’re each Titanium Elite Bonvoy, I suspect front desk staff member Lisa acknowledges everyone with the same gracious smile and personal attention. I later learned she was from Hawaii and on staff 10 years…she was awesome! Even though the room reservation was in my wife’s name, Lisa asked for my passport instead, negating any chance she may have connected that it was indeed my wife’s birthday. Yet, after some very subtle inspiration from me that it was—Lisa quickly offered her a warm and sincere BD greeting, acknowledged our Suite Night Award requests were granted and then provided us w/two drink vouchers along with a heads up to bar tender Fernando that today was her BD. He surprised us w/espresso martini shots before making a few more cocktails and sharing sincere and excited conversation about a very busy FRI the week prior and travels very shortly after an unusual early shift to Vermont to see family for the Mothers Day weekend. We were already so thankful for the amazing high floor corner Fantastic Suite! Wow…it certainly didn’t disappoint. Yet, as we were about to leave the room for dinner and the Celeste Cirque du Soleil show a gentle knock on the door and moments later we were extended a bottle of Prosecco and a silver tray of fruit and cookies from the two concierge Ninielle and Alban with a very kind handwritten note. Nevertheless, unlike Westin and other Marriott properties—even though no name badges are worn by staff at the Montreal “W” we made it a priority to thank them for their genuine hospitality. Lisa even provided a handwritten card of her personal favorite bistros and coffee shops for SAT after the show. My wife totally enjoyed the Cirque show even though she was brought on stage and acknowledged by the emcee after completely exceeding expectations by the Venue Manager Sylvie. In addition to the hot and tasty room service breakfast’s each morning….I know we each can’t wait for a return visit to Montreal…while my wife was at the nearby Fairmont Queen Elizabeth for three nights for a conference; I know in just two short nights the entire staff at the “W” couldn’t have made us feel anymore welcome and where we’ll be staying!…
The hotel took forever to post my stay to my Marriott account. Also waiting for the hotel to properly bill my Marriott gift card. I have had other Marriott hotels in Canada charge my gift card immediately on the day of check out not sure why it takes the W Montreal more than 3 weeks. I used a suite night award for the WoW Suite while attending a conference the room was nice the conference halls a bit small for our event but also nice. Unfortunately, the check-out experience has been so complicated with the billing. I have left multiple emails and called a few times with no solution. It leaves a bad taste after an otherwise decent experience.
My partner and I stayed at the W during our recent visit to Montreal. We thought the hotel was excellent in every regard. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and efficient. The bar (and the bartenders) were wonderful. The room was clean and tidy. The bed was extremely comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water and good water pressure. You can enter the Metro underground directly from the hotel (in the winter, this matters). I would absolutely recommend the W Montreal without hesitation.
This was my 2nd time visiting this property and it didn't disappoint. I can't say enough good things about the staff, room, food, ambience. It all started with a very attentive and helpful valet who exuded positivity (as did all the staff). It was a very easy and seamless check-in with friendly front desk staff. The concierge, Merreille, greeted us immediately to see if there was anything she could help us with and continued to go above and beyond throughout our 2 night stay. The hotel is situated at the edge of Old Montreal and next to a metro station. It's within walking distance to many attractions, shopping and restaurants. We stayed in a Fantastic Suite that was very spacious, well appointed with a huge soaker tub, large walk in shower with a wonderful rain head, double sinks and a separate WC. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud and, in case you need any extra help sleeping, there's a sleep machine next to it with your choice of white noise, rain, etc. There are blackout curtains on the windows and a nespresso machine with capsules. The tv is large and swivels from the bedroom side to the living room side. The only minor negative was that the tv only has basic cable with a few English channels and lots of French channels as well as pay per view movies, music & games. The tv is enclosed so you can't access the HDMI port if you want to hook your laptop etc to it and there's no option for streaming. The breakfast was also excellent. I highly recommend the French toast with maple syrup that's been infused with lavender and fresh berries. All in all, it was a fantastic getaway and I'm looking forward to next time. Thank you all.…
We stayed for 5 days and had a lovely time. We were able to get a fantastic price for the room type we had during this stay. The room was generously spacious & in a quiet corner which helped us feel more comfortable during our stay. I absolutely loved the bathtub and the Davines amenities provided. The hotel is dog friendly as well, so we had our 2 dogs with us and the staff were really wonderful and accommodating supplying items like dog bowls and toys. We weren't informed that valet parking is only available on weekends. The location was fantastic, centrally located in MTL, right across from the Metro station and small park. (Though there were some transient people a few times.) The hotel staff were accommodating, though I did misplace a bag which I realized upon check out & went to the lost and found with someone in the concierge and they said my bag wasn't there. We left, but I kept in contact with the concierge, and a few days later they found it in the lost and found. There were some suspicious things, like some bottles I had in there were replaced with bigger ones... And the dog toy which I intentionally left in the room was somehow in the bag. I'm not entirely convinced as to how it was misplaced but I am VERY thankful to get my limited-edition bag back, which I had to pay for and arrange via FedEx. Coffee in the hotel was pricey, but there's a great place around the corner. Honestly despite that, we really enjoyed our stay and we'll probably stay at this hotel again. This would have been an A+ stay had it not been for the miscommunication about valet parking and the mystery of where my bag went...…
Unfortunately this property is not organized. While the front staff are lovely we have been waiting over an hour after check in, in the front lobby with at least 5 other families/groups waiting for our room to be cleaned/ready. We have set reservations for events/dinner and are not able to check into our room to get ready. If you have a couple of extra hours to wait for your room, then this is your place.
Was our first time visiting Montreal so we really didn't know where to start, but we found a great deal on a room at the W and decided to give it a shot. It was definitely a wise decision, we ended up on the 10th floor with a balcony in a room with super high ceilings and an over all spacious vibe. All the little touches in the room from easy ability to hook your phone to the sound system, to the funky bathroom and free water add up. The bar on the first floor was excellent and was doing an great G&T menu when we were there. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only downside is I wouldn't say this is an ideal location for someone new to Montreal, was located more in the business district.
This W is quiet stylish, although a bit. The location is pretty good, it’s very close to Chinatown and the Old Town. The rooms are alright. The room size is doable. There is a small bar on the second floor of the hotel.
This is a large hotel, but even though it is a chain it has lots and lots of personality. Our room was very modern with interesting finds. Great location - close to everything. Had a nice view out the window, a leather padded window seat. Cool restaurant - although expensive. I had a $26 omelet for breakfast - but it was good.
EXCELLENT service. I can't stress this enough. The valet, front desk, concierge, the bartender and housekeeping were all excellent. We said we'd go back just because of the service. The hotel is very modern, clean and sophisticated for young professionals or couples. The hotel was in walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars. My fiancé drives a big truck so we were a bit worried about parking. Luckily they said the clearance for their valet parking is 6'6" so we were okay. The only sad part was we wanted a glass of champagne Saturday night. We just got back from a wonderful night out and my boyfriend had just proposed to me. I wanted to sit at the bar for a quick drink to celebrate but it was closed. It was after midnight though, so it was our error for not checking the time. We didn't feel like going back out to wander around for another bar and it was quite cold outside, so we celebrated with Pepsi in our room instead haha!…
