Had a great stay at this motel. Rooms were clean and the staff( Ken ) was very friendly. We were pulling a motorcycle trailer and there was lots of room to pull around and park. We have been staying at this motel for many years as it is reasonably priced and a good half way point to Toronto.

As we continue our Cross-Canada road trip, once again we chose a small, family-run motel instead of a large chain. As we continue to battle through this Covid pandemic, we feel it’s important to support local business. I regret giving this motel a poor rating because the people who run it are lovely. But sadly, this motel needs major attention. The outside common areas are dirty and worn. The stairs to the second floor were suspect. The room was clean enough but very dated and gloomy. Of all the places we stayed going and coming back from BC to NS, this one stood out. We would not return.

If you’re looking for reasonably priced accommodation without the frills, this is it. Definitely time for a major refresh here, as outside common areas, especially stairs and upper deck walkways & doors quite shabby. Room furniture very dated. Bathroom in poor shape. Toilet didn’t seem to be bolted down. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly, the beds were comfortable and the linens and pillows extremely clean. Wifi was good. Cleanliness was not an issue. They’re doing their best with a very dated property.

This place should be condemned. Lamps broken and hanging on sideways, stained sticky carpets, faucet and toilet filthy and stained, shower broken, little black flies all over room, mould mildew in bathroom, no heat, property gardens full of trash and weeds. I called in advance for a single room at 69$ but when I arrived the guy said there were no more single rooms so I had to pay an extra 25$. I was stuck overnight and in a jam so I took the room but what an awful place. In the morning the guy asked me to write a good review...

I was just passing through Sault Ste. Marie and spent a night here. No frills hotel for sure. The room was very dated, with the TV being about the only thing made in the past 40 years. But it was quite cheap and the price was right for a single night.

I stayed here for one night while traveling across Canada. And was a bit leery what the room might be like before i had arrived because the price per night was so decent. When i had arrived the husband and wife were very friendly and helpful with advice on restaurants and gas stations in the area. The room was clean and quiet. Everything worked great and was in good shape. Very impressed as the saying goes don't knock it till you try it. This is how i felt this place is definitely one of the best motels i have stayed at. I left in a very good mood about this place and will be staying here again and again each time i travel past.

This is a bed bug infested, filthy place that will NOT give you a refund once they have your card number or money. The bedding was stained in the first room. In the second room we looked at, only one of the beds appeared to have clean sheets. If I had two words to say they would be: RUN AWAY!!!! Do not look back, but run for your life. The drug trafficing from the room across the parkinglot kept us up all night. We would have fled immediately, but they would not give us our money back..

As per your posting you are telling people to runaway and you stayed there and enjoyed the room. From your statement it shows that you are lying. You didnt complain, called or come to our office we are open till 3.0a.m.. There are no bugs anywhere we can show our place to anybody to verify your statement. Also you are complaining about the drug trafficking across the other room you should have complained directly to the city police it is your social obligation or you should have informed front office which you didnt which ultimately suggest you are lying.

Dear Guest Thank you for your review, We are sorry about your experience at our motel. As you mentioned about the bugs which is not true. You stayed two full days no problem and at the time of check out you complain and you are not in position to show a single bug or mark or anything in the room. and still you want the refund after staying two full days? Also all the mattress and boxes are new and with bug protector. We didn't received any call from you as you stated in your review.

We stayed at the Bel-Air Motel in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on 2015 May 29. During booking the Hotwire web site told us that the motel was in the same class, 2.5 star, as Holiday Inn Express and Comfort Suites amongst others. This is very misleading. The Bel-Air is about a 1 star place.

Pros- The shower worked well. We were checked in promptly.
Cons- The sheets were worn thin with some holes. The bath tub had white dirt that came off in my wife's hands. The baseboard heaters were falling apart. The ceiling tile was held in place with screws. The bathroom fan did not work. The baseboard paint was chipped. There were wheel marks in the vinyl flooring.
