This motel is always sparkling clean, and staff is welcoming. The lack of broadloom carpeting is a bonus for those with allergies. This motel welcomes pets and they offer sheets for them to protect bedding. It is an older motel, but well kept, the beds are comfortable, the water pressure excellent, air conditioned, and relatively quiet as it is tucked back from the main street. Close to good restaurants, Starbucks. We always stay here when driving through Sault Ste Marie.

This appears to be just another older motel but don't let that fool you. The rooms are scrupulously clean and decorated in modern colours and NO CARPET, which makes it feel even cleaner. We were very impressed with the Covid precautions and cleaning techniques we observed. The room and bed were super comfortable and there were even real glasses for our tot of bourbon! Nicely located near restaurants and a grocery store. It's on the main drag but wasn't noisy at all. Would definitely recommend this one and stay here again ourselves if we are ever passing through.

This motel was not what we expected according to the rating. We have traveled extensively and this does not match the higher rating. The outside, and driveway surface was old and uneven. There was a miscommunication about the rooms we needed. We needed two rooms with a queen bed. We got two rooms with two Queen beds. When we went to have them exchanged for the single queens, we were told we couldn’t be cause they had already charged us the higher rate. They were not willing to fix the mistake. On the other hand, the rooms were big and were clean. The cost was extremely high for the condition of the rooms, older hotel amenities, no breakfast and location.

Although the facilities were up dated and clean our room faced a very loud pop up amusement fair that ran late into the night. I would have appreciated a warning at the time of booking . Facilities were pet friendly. Could that have been the reason we were in the rooms at the very back? No view, except for the brightly lit up rides.

For a little side of the road motel it was so quiet, cozy and clean! We were pleasantly surprised b/c one doesn't usually get all 3 like that with the smaller side of the road motels/hotels. Definitely great price for the accommodations and the staff was very nice. Would definitely stay here again.

OK, so it's not a 5 star motel but it was great for bringing our dog with us. Room was extremely clean.
They provide bags and waste bin outside for the dogs. Set back from a major road so it was pretty quiet. Turned the a/c on and we all slept well.
Special thanks to Violet and Phyllis for making us feel so welcome.
For a one night stay, it was exactly what we needed.

Stayed here twice. Once on the way out of the area and then when we came back. Both times we had a pleasant stay. Room was clean and well equipped. Staff were very nice. The hotel is close to several places to eat and to a Dollarama and Walmart. It is nice that it is on the north end of town so that you aren't right down town. It is on the main drag, so it can be a bit noisy if you have the window open.

This is one of the cleanest motel rooms ever. Even though it is rated as a 2-star establishment, it is great. It has been newly painted and the bed is so comfy with great linens. The owner helped us out when we discovered my husband's suitcase had been rained on. She went over and above to help us out. Definitely a great value and well run place!

I've stayed at the Northland on most of my business trips through the Sault. The Northland has never disappointed me. It's always clean, comfortable and quiet. It's location is convenient to get around the city and close to restaurants and grocery stores. I will be back.
