This motel is in a great location and the rooms and staff are respectful and courteous and the rooms are quiet. The Business is close to many restaurants and shopping districts. Rooms are cleaner then some of the major hotels we have stayed at. Will Return

I reserved a room at the Adams Motel without realizing it was in Canada rather than Michigan. Despite discovering this very late in the afternoon, Booking.com and management at the Adams very considerately cancelled my reservation with no penalty. Much appreciated.

This is the third time we’ve stayed at Adams Motel. It is absolutely clean and well looked after. Im very particular about how clean rooms are and these are great!!! The owners are friendly. The motel is right on the highway. It can accommodate a truck and trailer for parking. I would recommend this motel to anyone needing a place to stay in Sault Ste. Marie.

We were cross country skiing in the area and wanted to try the place out again after probably 40 years. We thought that they must be doing something right to survive. Not so.
1. Cold room took 4 hours to heat. Apparently there are so few customers that no rooms were heated in anticipation of getting new guests. Room temp was about 50F. Baseboard heating is great but takes time to get going.
2. Room had a noisy drive thru A&W pickup lane directly behind building we were in. We could have been put in a unit further from road as only a couple of guests were in the place.
3. It has color TV! But it was something from the 80's with poor video quality. Not the common flat screen you normally find.
4. You might want to bring your own soap. The Adam's provides 1 only of the smallest and thinnest soap we have ever seen.
5. You may also want to bring your own kleenex as none was provided
6. Ice had to be fetched from office and they only permitted one scoop of crushed ice for our cooler.
7. Bathtub had curved bottom. Could cause a fall when showering.
8. No microwave oven. Had to go to office for that.
On the bright side, bath fixtures were newer and the room was clean.
Cost was not reflective of a spartan style room at $99 plus Canadian taxes.
We do not recommend the Adam's Hotel considering the current alternatives in the Soo, Ontario vicinity. We think the elderly owners would do well to sell this valuable location and enjoy life elsewhere.

Response from TP Findlay, General Manager at Adams Motel
Responded 15 Apr 2022
Response from the motel manager: An unfair assessment of a well-kept motel. This is a very clean motel in a great location, and at reasonable rates. Concerning this review, no complaints or concerns were mentioned during the entire stay. All rooms are supplied with fresh towels, also adequate amenities for a one-night stay. All showers and standard bathtubs are supplied with non-slip bath mats for their convenience. Over the years we've had many happy customers and wonderful reviews. My question to these guests, why any of these issues mentioned weren't brought to our attention? Unfortunately, because nothing was mentioned, we were not afforded the opportunity to address or correct any of their concerns. Ice is provided for our guests free of charge, we also offer and have available bagged ice for sale if guests require ice for their travels. As for other noises from other businesses in the area, we have no control of this and had no other complaints. In closing, we feel your comments were both frivolous and without merit.

We didn’t need a fancy hotel, just a good bed after a long day of travelling, and this traditional family-owned motel was good - and the price was right. Room was not fancy or super-roomy, but clean and adequate for the night with WiFi, frig, coffee maker, TV, good comfy mattress and pillows. (I have become used to a higher toilet though.) We slept just fine, but if traffic sounds bother you, ask for a room closer to the office. We stayed again on the return trip.

Stopped in this place while coming to the Sault to see the fall colours. Place is in a busy location close to all major shopping and restaurants. Very fair & honest prices and very well kept & clean place. Next time I am in the Sault Ste. Marie I will be staying here. Thank you for the accommodations

Motel was clean and well maintained. The owner cares about her motel and keeps it in good shape. It was good value for the money. The big name hotels could learn from this motel. I would stay again at this motel in the future. It was in a good location.

We spent 2 nights at Adams Motel and our experience was wonderful.
We did read the previous review prior to booking but took the chance anyhow.
We were not disappointed in any way, shape or form.
The owner is very accomodating and he has a great personality.
Our room was exceptionally clean and fresh during our stay.
The beds were very comfortable, we slept like babies.
We had a mini-fridge, coffee maker and the softest towels ever!
There is no 'curfew'.... just use common sense/courtesy after 11pm as you would anywhere you stay.
There were many guest staying each night, and we never heard them even in the morning when they left.
Perhaps the previous guest should have considered staying at one of the chain hotels downtown, if he wasn't feeling comfortable here.
We prefer to stay at locally owned 'ma and pa' motels where we don't feel 'caged in'.
The location is great, walking distance to some great restaurants and shopping but still a short easy drive to downtown SSM.
We also received a Casino package that we used on our last night there, and had a great meal and fun.
It was a very nice evening.
We will definately be staying here on our next visit to the Soo and would highly recommend it to anyone!
Thanks to the owners for a great experience!

Hi ... Thanks for your question and for staying with us, we do offer some kitchenettes and can offer them when they do become available. However all of our other standard rooms do offer a mini fridge and a coffee maker for your convenience.
