We are just home from a 3 night stay in cottage number 2. We were 2 adults and a toddler, and the accommodation was perfect for us. Location wise the farm is on the edge of the village of Sway, very close to the train station (yes you can hear the trains occasionally going past, but they really didn't bother us and we are all very light sleepers) and a couple of shops all very well stocked, and a couple of pubs. It was a nice short walk up the lane to the shops, and a bit further to get to the Horse and Hounds pub for some very good food and a fantastic children's play area in the garden. There is a coded barrier to access the cottages or camping areas, and a small parking area right outside the cottages. Our cottage had a small wooden decked seating area out the front, with a latched gate which meant our son was safe if he was outside. The back yard area was fully enclosed with beautiful plants around the edge, a bench and a patio table and chairs. The photographs on the website really don't do the cottages justice! When we opened the door I was very pleasantly surprised with the space. The front door opens into the open plan kitchen-diner area leading on to the lounge area, with plenty of counter space to cook and most utensils that you would need (although we had no sharp knife at all, only dinner knives). There's a microwave, fridge-freezer and plenty of cupboard space. The lounge area had a large comfortable sofa and a couple of wingback armchairs and a large tv and coffee table. Cool and comfortable in the summer but I imagine it would be nice and cosy in the colder months too. The double bedroom was plenty large enough with a big wardrobe and loads of useful hangers and sensibly placed sockets and the twin bedroom had enough room for a travel cot to fit in well. The shower room was small but not tiny, with a good shower and all you would need. The cottage was very clean and smelt amazing thanks to a few subtle reed diffusers dotted around. On our final morning Mark kindly introduced us to the goats, horses and donkeys at the farm, which our son then talked about non-stop all the way home! Rushcroft Farm is perfectly placed to enjoy all the New Forest has to offer. Wonderful beaches only 15/20 minutes drive away, very easy access to Brockenhurst, Bealieu, Lymington and very close to lots of walking routes and everything else the New Forest has to offer. 3 nights in this beautiful spot in cottage number 2 was not long enough for us, I am kicking myself that we couldn't book for longer. We will definitely be back soon!

I booked a week at the site, camped on here a few years ago with my daughter and loved it's location, its not for everyone as you are by Sway train station and you can hear the trains but it didn't bother me. The trains are above you. I was able to walk up to station and catch a train to Christchurch and than catch a little boat over to Mudeford Sandbank, which is very beautiful. I also got the train to Bournemouth. This was first time in our caravan on my own and staying at Rushcroft Farm I felt very welcome and safe greeted at the barrier by a very friendly man, greeted us (my husband towed me on) by using our first names, which he remembered and every time he walked past and said hello using my name! which I liked. Didn't use the facilities so can,t comment. Sway has two little shops new CoOp & Budgens and a few pubs The Hare & Hounds is worth a visit a bit of a walk from the site but worth it!

My husband and I went to the shepherd's hut at Rushcroft Farm in Sway, New Forest to celebrate our birthdays and then anniversary last week. We were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful not only the location was but also the hut itself. Whilst being small, it is very well designed and of very high quality. Bedding and towels etc are of luxury quality and the attention to detail and practicality is first class. The owners Mark and Lynn are lovely people and very welcoming. We had a lovely 6 days there and great weather on the whole. Plenty of lovely places nearby to visit or just chill in the beautiful scenic setting. We had a great meal in the local Hare and Hounds. Advisable to book as gets busy. We would recommend to couples or a single person who love the beauty of the location and will definitely be returning again ourselves. There are also cottages and a small well equipped campsite nearby. Linda and Paul Green, Basingstoke

2nd visit to this little gem which we found last year. It is a well maintained site thanks to the hard work of the owners Mark and Lynn in great location in the village of Sway which is a short walk / bike ride from open forest, pubs and local shops in the village like Sway Butchers who have great quality produce. The site has everything you need for a much needed relaxing break and can not wait to return. Thank you
