Brownscombe Luxury Glamping is an award winning site with four luxury Safari Tents that are perfect for families and groups of friends, each sleeping 6 in a King, twin and double cabin bed with ensuite shower, flushing loo, kitchen with fridge and induction hob and a sitting and dining area. The tents are heated by a large wood burning stove and each bed has a long yuyu hot water bottle and extra blankets. Two of the tents allow dogs and 4 have hot tubs (3 electric). Our romantic Cornish Tabernacle sleeps two and has its own hot tub in a secluded location - we have had many proposals and honeymoons here. Our Cabin and Roundhouse sleep 2 adults, 2 children in each. They are more secluded and have stunning views up the valley with bath tubs, showers and hot tubs that you can stargaze from at night. Kids love the games room, rope swings and fields to run around on, all visible from the tent decks. Each morning Kate will take the children on farmers rounds plus we can cater for you in our Lodge, Pizza Barn or to collect.

My family (wife, toddler and dog) stayed at the Brownscombe Glamping site in early May 2021. We found the entire experience excellent from start to finish, The accommodation was incredibly spacious and the little touches within really did add the element of luxury. We had a log fired hot tub and between that and the stove in the main tent I did have a much improved knowledge on fire management by the end of the week.

The location was excellent, our hosts were wonderful (farm tour with toddler went down a treat) and the tents themselves were as good as you could hope for.

I will be booking again for the next year without question.

Fair warning, it is a tent and despite the stove and electric radiators in the bedroom, It can get rather cold overnight, it is a tent after all, come prepared and you won't be disappointed!

The best family holiday we’ve had!! Such a beautiful location, Kate was so friendly the whole time, the food we pre ordered was delicious, the farm animals were amazing, our son loved feeding them one morning, and would go say hello and night night to them all everyday. We stayed in a Safari tent with out 2.5year old, it was so clean, cosy, loads of space & storage for all our bits. The bunkbed/ cuboard bed was perfect, it was like sleeping in a den for him. (He absolutely LOVED it) The shower and bathroom was lovely! We cooked on the fire outside, watched sunsets, chilled on the farm, in the hot tub. No phones, no iPads, no tv. Just lovely country side, switch off from the world bliss, as a little family. Didn’t want to leave!! Thank you Kate and everyone at Brownscombe.

From the moment you pull into the drive at Brownscombe you know you are in for the most relaxing time . I was truly blown away by how beautiful it all looked .

Fabulous from start to finish . Kate met us with a big smile and showed us around like she had known us for years .

The safari tent we stayed in was so beautiful - everything had been well thought out . Beautiful touches everywhere you looked. Comfortable beds , big fluffy towels , and a welcome bottle of bubbly in the fridge ! The veranda with a cup of coffee in the morning just felt so peaceful .

Our son loved the cabin bed it felt like a real adventure to him ! We also all loved sitting in front of the roaring fire which kept us too warm :) !!

I loved the fact we had so much space around our safari tent and the kids really could roam free ! They loved meeting Kate to go and feed the animals , and we all fell a little bit in love with the pigs that would come running to the fence whenever we walked past . They also enjoyed the table tennis and the little park .

The whole layout is designed for the most relaxing stay, and that’s exactly how we felt when we left Monday morning ! It couldn’t have been any more perfect .

Needless to say I have booked again already for next year .

We have just returned from a lovely relaxing weekend at Brownscombe! There are nothing but good things to say about our stay. First we were greeted by Kate our host who was so lovely and friendly. Our safari tent was very spacious with the most comfiest beds and lovely fluffy towels waiting for us. The shower in the tent was amazing it had a good water pressure and temperature and the toiletries which were supplied were to die for! Kate also arranged a little farm tour to feed the animals on the Sunday morning which was lovely for my toddler our favourite animals were the pigs (salt, pepper & hogzilla 😂) Overall a lovely experience and will be returning next year!

Had the loveliest stay here end of April. We stayed in the Roundhouse which is just so beautiful. The room is spacious and light and was absolutely spotless. The view is gorgeous and we really enjoyed watching the sheep graze along with the pheasants and other various wildlife. Every comfort has been thought of and we felt very much at home. It is clear the host has put her heart and soul into the design of the accommodation. The hot tub is wonderful and the tin bath is also an amazing luxury. There is a small honesty shop on site for any essentials you have forgotten. There is also a games room. We did some local walks including to the local pub which was great!

They had piglets and lambs onsite which we also enjoyed paying visits to.

The host Kate is a lovely warm person who is incredibly welcoming and also responsive should you need anything.

My only comment to consider would be that wifi is in the reception area only and we were unable to get this to work to any degree of success on any devices during our trip. This did not matter to us but if wifi is something you rely on then this may be worth considering as its clearly temperamental. However, if you are like us, with a few playlists made available offline beforehand this should make no difference to your trip. The surroundings are so gorgeous wifi is not needed!

I cannot recommend this place enough and we will certainly be back when we can!

Thank you Kate for a perfect stay!!

I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay in the Roundhouse and recognised all the love that has been poured into creating it. We really appreciate your feedback and if you come back to stay again next year we hope that you will also be pleasantly surprised by our Wi-Fi, as the whole village is being upgraded to fast fibre next month - the most exciting thing to happen in Compton since they built the Castle 500 years ago!

Just left Brownscombe Luxury Glamping having stayed for 3 nights. We are a family with 2 boys 4 and 6. We have had a really wonderful time. The setting of this little valley is beautiful and it was so perfect for the boys to explore safely. The accommodation is stunning, such comfortable beds and our boys loved the cabin bed, such fun! The tent is so well blacked out it was darker in the morning than our bedrooms at home!
Own hot tub and campfire was such fun. En-suite bathrooms very comfortable with lovely products and big soft towels.
Kate is the best host creating amazing breakfast hampers and dinners (she has thought of everything and it's yummy) and is fantastic with the kids on farm rounds.
Felt very Covid safe but also felt nice and normal which was a welcome break. We will be back for sure.

My partner and I have just returned from a week long stay in The Roundhouse. Prior to arrival we were sent a link to an app with all the information you could possibly require for your stay. We were welcomed on arrival by Kate, who gave us a little tour.

The Roundhouse itself is absolutely stunning, you can really see the love that has gone into building it. The ceiling has a porthole which we loved looking through at night. Each day we stayed we noticed another little detail like the light around the porthole, watercolour painting or feather wreath.

We enjoyed making use of the facilities including the eco hot tub and outside bath. We prepared a few meals in the kitchen and found it had all the crockery required. There is no TV, internet or signal and we really enjoyed a digital detox. Scrabble is provided and we took a deck of cards.

The Roundhouse is situated in a sheep field and we loved watching them each day along with some courting pheasants. We also spotted an owl one evening whilst in the tub!

There is a little shop on site which was handy. We also had food onsite in the Lodge, which was fabulous. The food is layed out for you and candles lit ready for our arrival at 6:30pm. You took your own bottle. It was all very romantic I must say!

All in all we had an absolutely fabulous stay and wouldn't hesitate recommending this site. Thanks to Kate and her team 😁

Thank you for making our first ever review of our new Roundhouse such a lovely one - am so glad that you enjoyed all the little details. It was the one advantage of lockdown that we had months to plan it! We hope that we get to see you again next year and good luck with the wedding in September and hope that the sun shines for you :)

This was our second visit to Brownscombe and the beautiful Tabernacle. Such a romantic and relaxing place to stay! We spent our evenings sharing the Swedish wood fired hot tub, staring up at the stars and listening to the hoots and screeches of the owls.
The two nearby pubs are friendly and serve scrumptious food, although Kate does make a delicious 'campfire cassoulet' which can be preordered (amongst other delights) and collected in the barn.
The Tabernacle itself is small but perfectly formed! Stunning wallpaper by Timorous Beasties complements the stained glass window and quirky decorative features. But the best by far is the view from the bed. Double windows at the bottom of the bed open out onto uninterrupted views of the hedges and fields of the valley beyond.
Bliss!

Huge Thankyou to Kate for creating the most beautiful family holiday for us. The safari tents are so well kitted out, beautiful soft sheets & fluffy towels. We loved the trips to feed the farm animals and pizza night was an extra treat. Our kids loved all the space to explore, make friends & play. The location is great too, great beaches near by & trip to the zoo. We are leaving with so many happy memories!

We stayed in the roundhouse and it exceeded all our expectations. Spotlessly clean with a good mini kitchenette perfect for making breakfast/ camping dinners. The bathroom is also decent and a good size. The hot tub and bath were both lovely, though as with all hot tubs require a bit of planning and preparation to be warm enough to use. The farm itself has lots of animals - in particular nosey sheep that plod through the field by the roundhouse. Kate also has a well stocked larder where you can top up basic supplies (I.e Prosecco). There is wifi in the barn area, but would recommend utilising the digital detox.

The local area has lots to offer, and there are a couple of pubs in walking distance. Close by totness offers a lovely selection of cafes, and Torquay even has a good Michelin stared restaurant with a reasonably priced lunch menu.

I would recommend Brownscombe to both couples and families. It may also be nice for friends who want a relaxing, chilled out break.
