Detailed Reviews
For a budget Safari trip this wasn’t bad. There were a lot of complaints about the electricity, hot water and the amount of bugs but this is a BUDGET safari in the middle of the Maasai Mara area in Kenya, what did you expect???
We enjoyed our time. The transportation wasn’t exactly comfortable but I brought a neck pillow which made it better but the accommodations in my opinion were adequate. The tents were clean, the beds were comfortable and they let you know when you check in that it takes about 10 minutes for the water to warm up which was again, perfectly fine. They supply you with food, which I wasn’t a big fan of but again, for a budget safari it was completely adequate.
The electrical sockets in the tents do not work and electricity throughout the camp is only on during certain hours (usually when people are on safari they are off), though the ones in the room did not work the ones in the common area did and that was fine. Our tour guide Stanley was great and a really nice guy. He made sure we seen plenty of lions, hippos, elephants, cheetahs (baby cheetahs were adorable) giraffes and buffalo. We did see a leopard but no rhinoceros’, which would have been amazing. Seeing the animals in their natural habitat was worth the trip and price. I would recommend this trip. After booking we were asked which place we would like to stay and we chose Miti Mingi eco lounge. Going to the Maasai Village and seeing the Maasai people was an amazing experience as well. Very humbling and beautiful.
Again, I would recommend this trip. For $400 it’s a great deal. Lodging, food, water, transportation and a 3 day safari. If you want something “better” pay more money, simple as that. If you want WiFi, electricity and hot water 24/7, pay $1400 for the luxury safari please. Leaving comments about how there was no WiFi or electricity at all times on a budget safari in the middle of rural Kenya is kind of ridiculous. Check your privilege ASAP. Lastly, this is Kenya, please be respectful of people trying to make a living the best way they know how. Everyone wasn’t born somewhere that they can get up and travel the world, leave where they live, pursue bs education or find a job easily. These are human beings.

I arrived at this camp, after being told that I would be staying at another, more suitable, camp, and was unpleasantly surprised. There was a reason given for this, so I accepted my fate. After the amazing game drive in Maasai Mara, I returned to the camp feeling much better, and cognisant of the reason I was there, and decided that the poor accommodation would not ruin my visit. The bed was comfortable, and the tent adequate. The private toilet, shower and basin were very basic and not up to my standard at all. Flip flops were given to be used in the shower. Lighting inside the tent was poor, with most activities having to be done in darkness or minimal lighting, due to inadequate placement of lightbulbs. Electricity was switched off at certain times, but there was adequate warning given. Toiletries were not provided (I think soap is a very basic and cheap necessity), and I had to ask for towels, which were not in great condition. No pride was put into the camp whatsoever. On the up side, the staff were friendly, and the food was quite good. I would not stay here again.

It is a budget Camp with average facilities offering tented accommodation which is clean and reasonable. Keep expectations low especially on food part. Hot water was available with basic soaps,in evening two hours wifi and electricity.

Considering that the eco camp is in a rural area near some maasai villages and maasai mara national park entrance, it looks pretty decent, safe and newly renovated. Tent is spacious and there is an electrical socket. Ensuite bathroom has no proper door, just a flap. There is cement pavement, a bar counter selling alcohol, a campfire site, and sometimes monkeys roaming around in the daytime. There is electricity and hot water during hours when you are in, though on the 2nd night they provided us with hot shower access in another tent instead :)

We stayed at the camp for two nights on a budget Masai Mara tour and our company booked this camp.
On arrival we were quickly checked in and shown to our tents. The tents are very basic with electricity turned on after 7pm. The food was very bland and cold on multiple occasions. We didn’t have a great sleep as there was lots of noise from the nearby village, noisy generators on from 5am and monkeys on the tin roofs. It was right next to the village which wasn’t the nicest looking and it didn’t appear to have any security on the boundaries. If you can afford to upgrade your camp I would recommend it as we didn’t have a great sleep both nights.

I stayed there in September 2021 as part of my package tour in Kenya. Miti mingi lodge is owned by Big Time safaris who is associated with all other smaller tour companies. Since they have a steady flow of tourists into the camp all the time, they don't give a damn about the service or facilities provided.
The bathroom flush was broken, drainage was blocked, room was dirty, meals were fit for dogs, unhelpful staff full of excuses. I could go on and on.
I was part of Parrot safari and bought my concerns to them, especially Joseph the manager. They threatened to sue me!
If you want to ruin your vacation, Miti mingi is the place to go.

The accommodation is really simple, but it works. The bed was ok and the tent clean. There was hot water, and even free soap bars. Unlike some other guests I both had toilet paper and towels (you have to ask them at the reception). Despite not offering a great variety of food at the restaurant, I could eat at every meal, and I am a vegetarian. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and always smiling. The only bad things were not having electricity in the tent during the day and the wifi being really slow and available only a couple of hours during the evening. One more thing is that there is no wardrobe or any piece of furniture where you can put your clothes, so they have to stay in your luggage for the whole time. Despite all of this, I enjoyed the stay. They have bonfires every night and it's a nice way to meet other travellers.

+1
I hate writing bad reviews but I feel the strong need to warn people about this place. We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our safari and it was by far the most horrific place I ever stayed at. The beds were somewhat ok but the bathroom (if you can even call it that) was just disgusting and dirty. I didn’t expect any luxury but a clean and tiled bathroom is the bare minimum you can expect from any budget accommodation. The lunch we got for the full day game drive was an absolute joke. A dry sandwich with butter and one slice of cucumber! There are prisons in Europe who have better facilities and food than this place. In addition to that, the common areas are extremely run down, dirty and gross. We also saw people’s passports just lying around in the reception area with no staff around. Anyone could have just taken these, see picture as proof. AVOID AT ALL COST! If this camp is booked for you as part of your safari I suggest you ask your tour operator if they can organise a different accommodation for you or provide you with upgrade options.

Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the Maasia Mara Reserve. The camp is owned by Big Time Safaris and is located near the entrance into the reserve and is across from a Maasi village you can visit. I was in a “dorm” style tent that I shared with two others I was with on my safari. The tent had its own toilet and shower which I did not use. They sell beer in the dining hall where food is also served. The entire camp is worn and very budget. My bed in the tent was comfortable enough. Electricity in the camp was sporadic and random so recharge your electronics every chance you get. The dining hall was large. The food at the camp was good however they might run out if there are large groups staying there so be first in line for dinner. The staff were nice though. Overall, this place was fine for my purpose. It is a budget camp so keep your expectations low.

Reading other bad reviews, I arrived with plenty of skepticism, and was instead surprised to see a very nice camping area, with all common areas well maintained. The tent is very big, with electricity after sunset, the toilet was very clean and the mosquito net works perfectly. Food is abundant, with vegetarian options. As a solo traveler, I felt very comfortable and the staff made their best to ensure a good stay. If you go there, do yourself, the camp management and the planet a favour: do not bring single use plastic, as they have no way to dispose them.
