Detailed Reviews
What a stunning stay! The first thing that grabs attention is the amazing green valley and views of the spring, herds of sheep and beautiful angora goats. The hospitality received from Erika and Henk was amazing! The decor in my room was tasteful and luxurious. I had a private bathroom with luxurious toiletries. When in the Karoo, you have to eat Karoo lamb, and the hot pot was beautifully presented at very tasty. The comfort of all facilities are above board. The concept of a honesty bar works well, and it is great that the hosts feel that you are trusted members of the family. The road to the venue is gravel, but mostly in good repair and my little Suzuki Swift negotiated this with no problem. I will not hesitate to stop there again!

Driving along the dirt road as the sun was setting was spectacular. The setting sun enhancing the beauty of the area. I had a warm welcome and shown to my room. Rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. Attention to the little things such as having the correct plugs on hairdryers is much appreciated. I enjoyed my tasty dinner and slept like a baby. I really enjoyed my stay very much, just sorry I had to leave again after only 1 night. Thank you

Desert Dew is a lovely place to spend a night. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the dinner and breakfast served were delicious.
The only thing was that there was a power outage which began at 22.30 and was only resolved the following morning which made the room uncomfortably warm during the night.

Stopped over for one night from Durban to Cape Town. Beautiful place with very friendly hosts and staff. I recommend having a braai pack, which includes fresh Karoo lamb. Our room was spotless and comfortable. Will definitely be back.

Housing lost in nature.
A swimming pool with deckchairs with spectacular views of the mountains, goats and sheep.
A perfect place to recharge. Absolute calm.
An exceptional welcome from the boss who upgraded us in the guesthouse (we had booked the chalet rooms)
Very nice rooms, very spacious and excellent evening meal.
The property is located on the edge of Karoo , little known to foreign tourists, and well worth a visit.
Small negative:· No instructions received to access the lodge (so we took a road in bad condition, when we could have arrived by another road)

Wow, what a nice and quiet place. We were received by very friendly staff that made sure we have all we need. They really went out of their way to accommodate us. We booked breakfast the next morning which was out of the books. Thank you for accommodating us, even as it was only one night. We felt right at home.

Great overnight stop on the way to Cape Town.
A working farm with Angora Goats.
The rooms are comfortable.
The food was top-class. Limited menu but it is very well prepared.
I would recommend this.
Easy access from both the N1 and N12. Short distance on well maintained gravel road.

We had a wonderful stay at the guesthouse. The host and staff are very helpful and friendly, the accommodation is comfortable and the scenery is spectacular. We will definitely be back soon. One thing to note is the road coming in has recently been washed out, so take it slow.

Probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever had the privilege to stay over at. The hosts are friendly and the staff just as much. Food is excellent and we were contacted beforehand to confirm what we would want to have for dinner and our estimated arrival. The Victorian bath in our room was an absolute winner and the spacious layout of the room a bonus! The night sky was filled with stars... travelling to the venue does take a bit of time due to the gravel road but if you’re not in a rush and looking for a place to relax this is the place to stay over near Victoria West..
