From the moment you arrive you're treated like family. The hosts provide great recommendations and are very helpful. The homemade breakfasts are amazing each morning. The room is cozy and clean, and very good for the price. The atmosphere is so relaxing and quiet but just a 10 minute walk to the sites and tourist areas. Also very close to local restaurants for more reasonably priced meals. Highly recommended if you aren't looking for the overly high priced luxury hotels and just want a relaxing home away from home.

Long review- pls read to the end! I stayed at the bungalows hotel over 20 years ago with friends & have always dreamed of coming back. The great hospitality, delicious breakfast, & tropical grounds have stuck in my mind. So when looking to visit Mexico during spring break, and still leery of large crowds due to Covid, I decided to book our stay at this small quaint hotel. I had hyped up the hotel to my husband and our 20 & 17 yr old kids, and I didn’t want it to disappoint. It definitely didn’t!! I booked a ground level, 2 bedroom room, with a small kitchen & living room, and private patio. Our room was just a few steps from the palm tree lined pool & dining area. There were always lounger chairs available to use at the pool and, when we swam, we always had it to ourselves. The hotel is as pretty, clean and well-kept as I remembered. The Mexican furniture, tile work & decor are beautiful. The beds are comfortable, the shower was hot, and the a/c was cold. We woke to birds chirping & calling out to each other. The ‘sweet’ breakfasts were our favourites and our special dietary requests were gracefully accepted. There was a plate of fresh fruit everyday, coffee or tea, and either fruit smoothies or fresh squeezed juice. Eric, and his beautiful sister, take pride in their hospitality & make you feel like family. Eric is a blast! He knows Cabo like the back of his hand, he is generous with his time, he loves his job, and NOBODY has a quicker wit! Special people like Eric don’t come along very often. We miss you already! It is about a 15 min. walk to the marina & a bit longer to Medano beach. It’s an uphill walk (not difficult) from the Marina back to the hotel, so wear comfortable sandals. On Saturday night, there was loud music & party games from the restaurant next door. It’s too bad we didn’t go over to join in because it sounded like a blast! Next time we will! The A/C noise & ear plugs will drown it out, if needed. I feel like our stay was a very good value. Breakfast filled us up for most of the day & the restaurants on Medano beach were steps away if we wanted to snack. I didn’t miss an “all inclusive” style hotel at all (I find the food there pretty miserable and we didn’t feel “bound” to eat at one place). We did spend a lot on dinners out, but we chose wonderful sit-down restaurants on the Marina. It felt nice to splurge after the last 2 years of Covid-19. It is easy to eat cheaply in Cabo if you like, and Uber eats is handy if you want to order pizza from a chain restaurant. I am so happy that we supported this wonderful family business, and, once again, I dream of returning to The Bungalows Hotel!

If you looking for a spot away from all the mega hotels, but within closing walking distance to the marina and all the action, The Bungalows Hotel is the spot. Erik and his staff are attentive and make you feel at home and valued. From the time we wanted to check in to the time we departed it was the perfect stay. The hotel is within walking distance to everything in Cabo Central. Erik and the chef also prepare an amazing breakfast in a relaxing environment.

This little boutique hotel is well located near the Centro area of Cabo San Lucas, with convenient and interesting walking routes to get you in and out of the Marina. In the one aspect it is a little TOO close as on party nights (I imagine depending on which room you're assigned) you do hear some of the thump thump from the clubs downtown. At the same time, I did appreciate the within walking distance aspect of this hotel. Elsa(?) is your contact here, she is amazingly kind and accommodating. She makes the breakfast for you (included) and helps check you in. The grounds are secure (but the free street parking is not), the pool is not the biggest and to be fair does not get a whole lot of sun. The rooms are quite adequate but the highlight for me in the rooms is the shower. Wow, the best showers I got in BCS! Note there are up to three floors in this hotel with no elevators. Those with mobility issues might want to ensure a ground floor suite.

After a slight problem finding the hotel. Everything looked great nice rooms true Mexican Casa. Friday and Saturday are the problem if you want to sleep those nights The Techno Electric Music starts up around 10 and Blasts until 3:30AM both nights. The walls were shaking from the Rave music. Never would stay they over the weekend again. Actually I still hear and feel the vibrations now and it 6AM

Response from The Bungalows Team, Innkeeper at The Bungalows Hotel
Responded 12 Jan 2022
We are sorry that you experienced this during your stay! We are tucked away in a neighborhood away from the Cabo nightlife but just a 1-10 minute walk to many wonderful restaurants.. however, we can assure you that there are no Rave or dance clubs nearby. What you heard was a neighbor's amplified celebration, which may happen occasionally but not regularly. We know it is frustrating to have your sleep disrupted while on holiday and are very sorry for this! We hope you will give us another chance. Sincerely, The Bungalows Team

We stayed at the bungalows while diving with Manta SCUBA Charters in Cabo San Lucas Mexico. Quiet, nice, and affordable stay. The Inn keeper named Essa was always very accommodating. Only thing we would suggest they improve is consistent Hot water for showers. The room was always clean and comfortable. The restaurant Casa Martin was across the street and very convenient and nice for dinner. Warm regards, Brett Galambos and Joyce Tomlinson

My family and I stayed here for the week of Christmas 2020. We cannot say enough good things about this small resort/hotel. First off, this is not a Hilton or high-end US resort. This is a small quaint Mexican resort that treats you like family. If you like the feel of a large US style hotel with the same breakfast every day, then move on. The Bungalows tries to get to know you, and they try to have a different breakfast every day while you are there. You truly feel like you are family at this hotel which made it hard to leave to go back home. When we go back to Cabo, we will only stay here. Eric the manager/owner is amazing. He knows your name and tries to make your stay the best possible. He gave us names of amazing restaurants close by and even arranged a rental car for us on Christmas day. The rental car was dropped off and picked up at the hotel. Very easy. Eric made a great recommendation to rent the car the day before you leave and it can be dropped off at the airport. Saves money on the $65 US shuttle ride back to the airport and you have a rental for the day. When I asked Eric where to get pesos, he arranged for a staff member to drive me to the closest ATM. Santander Bank was close, located just down the hill at the corner of Lazaro Cardensas and Calle Cabo San Lucas. We stayed in a 2 bedroom bungalow with a microwave, coffee maker, and small fridge. On the back patio we had 1 hammock, 2 swing chairs, 2 normal chairs and a small table to eat or sit on. We had plenty of space for the 5 of us. Although, I noticed we are spoiled having 3 bathrooms in our home and only 1 on vacation for me and 4 girls. When you open the gate to enter, you will be amazed at the beauty. You cannot look out and see that you were just in a Mexican neighborhood. Tucked away from the city. We felt safe in the neighborhood walking to and from town at all times, even coming in very late. The gait is locked at all times and you get a code to use. Very safe. There is no alcohol sold here. There is no food other than breakfast here. But, the OXXO is 200 yards away to buy beer and have at the pool. Bring a cooler from home or buy at OXXO. The OXXO has free ice. The restaurant next door, BarrAzul, has wonderful seafood. Brasa Viva down the street is an amazing steakhouse. The best meal of my life was at Brasa Viva. It was the meat sampler. If you are wanting cheaper name brand tequila, hard alcohol, or beer go to Licoreria “la Esperanza on Lazaro Cardenas < 0.4 miles away. Best views in town has to be at Baja Brewery about a mile away. 7 floors up, looking out over the bay and $2.5 pints. Make reservations at Baja Brewery ahead of time if you want to be seated with the best views. If you want to sit/lay at the beach and be spoiled, The Hungry Shark is great for lounging. They have amazing sushi and affordable prices. They are located directly in front of Baja Brewing on the water and next to Cachet Beach Club. Google maps for some reason has the Hungry Shark north of Cachet Beach Club. Hard to miss, it is black two-story structure on the beach. If tacos are what you are after, Tacos Loco is cheap and amazing. 4 tacos and a beer for 160 pesos. It is located directly behind Cabo Wabo. Pros Small hotel Wonderful staff Personable Great recommendations Beautiful grounds Safe area, quite neighborhood Affordable Hot water Lots of shade to stay cool Beds where comfortable OXXO 200 yards away (3 OXXOs within a couple blocks) Cons It is .4 miles to town, bit of a hill on the way back (which was no problem for us, helps work off the beer and tacos) Cool pool during Christmas (Eric said it was just this time of the month of December where the pool doesn’t get much sunlight)

Staying for 5 days during the pandemic. Quiet, charming and relaxing. The staff is lovely and everything feels safe and clean. I would recommend a stay here this winter. The two bedroom suites are comfortable and have a refrigerator and microwave so you can keep a small amount of food. The rent comes with an amazing breakfast that is served in an outdoor palapa.

The Bungalows in Cabo san Lucas is the real thing. It is located in a residential area away from the hub bub of the marina/hotel area (It's an easy 10 minute walk to the marina area). When you walk through the gates, you enter another world--Mexico without the resort hype. Erik is so welcoming and interested that you have a wonderful experience. The two of us stayed in the Hammock Suite--private patio with lounges and a hammock. Everything worked, the staff kept us supplied with bottled water and cleaned every day. Everyone that we met that was staying there were happy and pleased with the accommodations and atmosphere. This is a happy place! You have a wonderful breakfast every morning, starting with coffee or tea and a fruit plate. The fresh fruit drink is different every day and delicious. After the fruit plate the first day, we had Erik's signature cinnamon apple waffle. The rest of our stay included French toast stuffed with cream cheese and walnuts covered with grilled bananas, a wonderful fritata, a breakfast burrito with bean sauce, and a cheese omelet covered with a spicy mushroom sauce. With this wonderful food and Erik's delightful personality, you have a great start on the day! There is parking for about 6 mid-size cars, so we had no trouble finding a spot. Erik is a fountain of information on the area with ideas for beaches, cruises, restaurants, you name it. We recommend The Bungalows without reservation for a real Mexico experience.
