Lovely place to stop for lunch. Very friendly, welcoming staff, and nice views of the surrounding countryside. The food was generously portioned, piping hot and very tasty! Would happily return when next in the area, and would recommend to family and friends.

We stayed here with friends whilst travelling the area. The rooms were amazing and very comfortable. We had our evening meal here which was amazing and cooked by the owner. After dinner we sat in the bar area and enjoyed a few drinks and liquor coffees, I even tried one of their amazing chocolate desserts. I mentioned that I did not have a hairdryer in our room, so had the one from our friends room, at breakfast she apologised and had found the missing hairdryer. I can not find any fault in any part of our stay here, and would highly recommend staying here

Spending a week in Northumberland this was our nearest watering hole. So welcoming and friendly - they couldn’t do enough for us. We had 3 super meals there and some takeaway sandwiches. Very hospitable. Will definitely return if we are up this way. Highly recommended.

What a fabulous stay. This is a family run hotel with top end food and drink. Staff are fantastic and look after your every need. Stayed for 5 nights and cant wait to go back. Breakfast is a must but try the dinner menu, it's amazing. Top quality food and drink. Deserts are the best. Scenery out the bedroom window was phenomenal. Beautiful sunsets over the derwent reservoir. Love it.
