The hotel quickly implemented precautionary sanitation measures and none of our guests felt uncomfortable or uncared for in the space.
All the staff we had dealings with - catering, technical, shuttles etc - were warm and polite and our meeting was a great success.
Thank you Le Vendome!
The staff in the hotel is generally helpful and the staff in the dining room very hospitable. A very efficient shuttle runs back and forth hourly from the hotel to the Waterfront which is a real bonus.

The hotel itself is one of the nicer hotels that we have stayed at during our travels. The facilities include a gym, shuttle to the waterfront, pool and a restaurant. The room was just right, and the every morning view of Lions Head constantly reminded us of the beauty of South Africa.
Now, what makes this place well above the rest, was the staff. Every single member of the staff we met was second to none. The housekeeping was great, the restaurant staff were cordial, and the front desk folks were amazing - in no uncertain terms. Mr. Nolan and Miss Julia were terrific during our stay, and our main men Shaakir and Sedick made us feel like we were home throughout our time there. It got to the point after just two days, that every night after our sightseeing was complete, we would spend hours at the front desk with these two gentlemen just listening to their stories and getting helpful hints as what to do the following days. Both gentlemen were the absolute epitome of professionalism, and they did everything humanly possible to make our stay memorable and pleasant. They gave us help with our bookings, insights on what to eat that night, and great tips on the history and culture of what is modern South Africa. Both men made us feel like we were more than just hotel guests, opening up about family and life, and when our time came to leave, my wife and I found ourselves as sad to leave these two guys as we were to leave Africa. The entire staff was just simply amazing, and we'll remember these folks for as long as memory serves us.
In closing, I can't recommend this hotel enough for your trip to Cape Town. Just mind my words and remember to make friends with two of the greatest guys that my wife and I ever met: Sedick and Shaakir!!
The check in was delayed as a result of some rooms not been ready.
The service bar was understaffed.
The condition of some rooms where not acceptable, showers not working , carpets in poor condition .
Food from the service bar was terrible and was served cold, the Bar area was understaffed.
The selection of Red Wine was limited to 1 estate which can only be classified a budget wine.
I was in room 214 and an Ipad was removed on Sunday 15th by persons unknown.
I reported the incident to front desk on Monday the 16th and was dismissed on the basis that this has never occurred previously.
The security manager was not available and I was denied access to the Video footage and thus far have received no response from the Hotel or management.

When we arrived we were unsure if we had made the right choice as some of the rooms need updating but the hotel is in the process of updating all of their rooms. We were moved to a family room overlooking the pool and it was perfect. Plenty of room, extremely clean and modern furnishings.
What makes this hotel special is the outstanding customer service of their staff. By the time we were settled in, it was like home from home. Staff really couldn’t do enough for you and assisted you with everything you needed. They really couldn’t be helpful enough. In particular - Sedik (front of house) helped us with all of our needs within the hotel as well as recommendations for trips, restaurants etc. With a warm and friendly approach at all times. Phumlani (one of the waiters) deserves a special mention, he really couldn’t do enough for us and always with a smile on his face! He works so hard and nothing is ever too much for him.
The staff here are determined to ensure that everyone has a comfortable stay and because of that I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for an affordable and comfortable hotel to visit this beautiful city!
We made a reservation for the 31 of December. When we got to the hotel, they told us our reservation had been canceled. We had made the reservation through the hotel website, and they told us that only people with the reservation number could have canceled it. Either someone hacked the website or they lied to us and canceled our reservation. No notification was sent to us that a cancelation had been made.
They really tried to put the blame on us, saying that we might have canceled by mistake. As we were waiting to solve the problem, more families showed up and we found out that they were having the same problem. All of them had their reservations canceled.
After much pressure, they confessed that this problem happens often.
It took about an hour to made a reservation in another hotel (The Ritz) and they could not find the driver of their own shuttle to take us there for 15 minutes.
When we got the Ritz hotel, the place was under renovations. There was no one in the reception, no wifi, no breakfast. No electricity in some floors. It seemed like an abandoned building. No security at all.
We were not told about this until we got to the Ritz. They did it on purpose, expecting that we would accept that situation due to our exhaustion.
We demanded that the shuttle took us back to the Radisson Blu, in order for them to find us a real hotel. They told us that all hotels were fully booked due to it being the last day of the year. Also, they told us they would not pay the difference of a more expensive hotel if we found one.
In the end, there were 6 families with the same problem as us (some of them had already paid the hotel). All the receptionists disappeared behind a door afraid of the guests. There was no person in the hotel willing to solve the problem.
We finally decided to go around the corner to ask in person if the Premier Hotel had any rooms left. It did have rooms.
We went back to the Radysson Blu to get our luggages, and told the families waiting there to do not accept the Ritz Hotel offer and that they should try to go in person to other hotel.
This whole situation was an absurd. If we had time we would prosecute the hotel fora moral damage repair.
We booked a Sea View Suite and had two comfortable rooms with a large balcony. The hotel is set back from the sea front, so the sea view wasn't great, but the location is made clear in the hotel description. The staff were universally friendly and helpful, with a really efficient concierge.
There is an hourly shuttle to the V&A Water Front, which we used several times. Ubers in Cape Town also seem to be a convenient option and are very cheap (so make sure you give a good tip).
We ate in the bar on our first night as we arrived quite late. The bar menu was a bit limited and several items were not available, so that should be expanded a bit.
