We stayed here on a TripADeal package from Australia. As soon as we walked into our room we went “wow” great facilities, huge bathroom and bathtub complete with bath salts. Very spacious and everything we needed for a memorable stay. The rooftop pool and bar was a great space to hang out. Only negative was room service. Very slow as it took 30 minutes to get a plate with knives and forks and 2 follow up phone calls. Ashleigh was extremely helpful with our luggage as it was held for us until later in the day. The breakfast buffet very compatible with any other high end hotel. This place is a must to stay if you’re in Cape Town,

We spent a wonderful two nights at this establishment. Check in was done swiftly and staff at reception are very professional and helpful.
The rooms are nice and I love the fact that they are self catering. Our room was cleaned thoroughly but the second day housekeeping came only at around 15:00 and I think it's a bit too late. So we skipped the cleaning service.
Our breakfast was included and although sufficient I had to ask for the muesli and honey to be replenished after the previous day that they were empty already. Just something to note to make the experience better. The coffee is really bad and I would suggest maybe coffee that the staff can come pour for the guests. The coffee was weak and cold.

The Spa is really good with very good masseuses.

Overall a good breakaway with only a few constructive criticism.

Whow, Amazing, location, service, views, facilities, good food, roof top swimming pool, all of these things the Hyde Hotel has allot of. We really enjoyed our stay, our room was spacious and the South African platter for one at the Skye Rooftop restaurant is great value for money, very tasty and delicious. You don't have to sleep over you can just visit for the day!

This hotel is close to the beach, but set back down a side street ,so if you are a beach person then it is OK .if you are not a beach person go elsewhere.
We booked for 5 nights, but left after one night in the so called double suite on the third floor.
There is no aircon in the bedroom and the fans provided made so much noise you could not sleep.. The bedroom and bathroom were so small they were fit for only one person.,we have never seen such a small bathroom - you could not even turn round in it without the door being open.
The bed and pillows are hard.
This property feels like a converted apartment block from the 1960 s and the corridors to the rooms are similar to arriving at a prison .
The pictures on the website do not reflect the size of the rooms . They must have been taken with a wide angle lens.
When we advised of our decision that we were leaving nobody seemed to worry .just an offer of a move to another room was made.
Stay elsewhere there are better places for ZAR 3000 per night.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was perfect for morning jogs out on the promenade and the rooftop pool and bar offered beautiful views and a place to soak up sun or enjoy a sundowner. Our only complaint was the colony of seagulls who have taken up residence on the opposite roof and make a lot of bird noise. But otherwise great stay an and very well run place.

Thank you for taking your valuable time in sharing your feedback. I am pleased to note that the experience at The Hyde met your expectations. I'm currently in communication with the Building Manager opposite us about the seagulls that have taken up residence on their premises to see how we can rectify this problem going forward. We look forward to welcome you back in the near future.

There’s a lot of positive points about this hotel, and one negative which lost them a star. The staff are incredibly kind, friendly, helpful and pleasant. Nothing is too much trouble. We had a lovely room equipped with kitchen, oven, microwave, fridge plus all the necessary pots, pans crockery and cutlery etc. A nice sitting area and though no balcony the apartment attracted the afternoon sun and was really pleasant. Good sized bed and ceiling fan together with air on throughout. A functional bathroom, perhaps a little tired and a powerful shower. Note to hotel, a hand held shower is very handy and would have liked one here. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels on request. Also there was free parking in the basement.

The negative point. Included in our stay was a full buffet breakfast. Indeed, we had this on the first morning of our stay. A great breakfast with everything that one could require. Hot cooked selection, nice selection of cheeses, fruit, yoghurts, breads etc. It was just the job. We were told when we arrived that they had a group booked into the hotel that would require the dining area for themselves with their own special dietary requirements. The other hotel guests could not enter this area, and were told that we could choose anything from the a la carte menu and this would be made fresh. They were trying to be helpful. The problem was that when there’s a buffet one can go as often as one wishes without a problem. We definitely felt that we had been short-changed and that it seemed obvious that the group booking took priority. This is a clear message to the management. If a client has paid for a particular service then that client should get what they expect. Not a lame excuse to say that there was under occupancy (ie that those not in the group were small in number) to warrant putting the regular breakfast out. I am waiting to speak to the management about this.

I was pleasantly surprised by this apart hotel.
My room was a good size , clean with the added bonus of having a small kitchen and lounge.
It is well located with one end of the street on the beach end and the other end on a line of restaurants and shops. The hotel is a ten minute taxi from the waterfront or a lovely hour walk along the seafront.
The reception staff went above and beyond to be helpful and friendly, with a special shout out to Susan.
The hotel has a spa which were very accommodating and a small pool on the roof. We were well looked after there by Lloyd who was amazing at anticipating our every need.
All in all I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and will definitely return

I stayed at The Hyde Hotel from June 18th to June 22nd, 2024, booking two rooms via booking.com. Despite some additional requirements for booking from Nigeria, the process was easy. Check-in was seamless, with friendly staff and ready rooms.

The rooms were clean with good amenities, though I wished for a telephone shower and quicker hot water. The beds were comfortable and heated, perfect for Cape Town's cold weather. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the minibar items were charged from the 200 Rands deposit.

The hotel staff were outstandingly friendly and attentive, making our stay enjoyable. The location is great, close to shops, restaurants, and the Sea Point promenade. The hotel offers a gym, rooftop bar/pool, and a buffet breakfast with customizable options.

Wi-Fi was complimentary but unstable outside the room. A complimentary shuttle to three tourist attractions was convenient.

Overall, my experience was excellent. I highly recommend The Hyde Hotel and look forward to returning.

The hotel is just amazing, not to mention the friendly and helpful staff especially Kyle who was the highlight of our stay.

We arrived at the hotel at around at about 11am due to our flight being early and one of the ladies said that the room will only be ready after 2pm, then Kyle approached us smiling, without even speaking to the receptionist he already knew who we are by welcoming my wife, kids and I by our last name and said our room is ready, while waiting on the lift he showed us where breakfast will be, as well as the Gym, spa and hyde & seek then he escorted us to the room and even helped us with our luggage, when I wanted to tip him he said not to worry about it.

From his phone he booked us for Lunch at H13 and Dinner at Skye Restaurant which was both incredible and for the following day he swopped our reservation to Lunch at Skye and Dinner at H13 which at first I thought was weird but realized how different both restaurants in this Hotel are and believe me they were both top class.

Throughout our stay Kyle was all over, always greeting, always asking if we needed anything and always making my family laugh, we love every interaction with him.

As a local, I was initially drawn into the Hyde hotel by their banner advertising their rooftop bar- I’m so pleased that I allowed my curiosity to get the better of me. Firstly , the views were absolutely amazing, and the space is so aesthetically set up, welcoming but not intimidating. Lloyd the Barman was a joy, he went out of his way to produce a cocktail that I requested but which was not on the menu- honestly one of the best gin sours I’ve ever had. I decided to follow up with a nibble from their menu and I know I’m gushing now, but if you are a Prego fan, their fillet Prego blew me away, I was literally licking my fingers. Highly recommended if you’re in the area, actually, even if you’re not!

We returned the hire car to airport so this added onto travel time getting to airport. If returning a car it is a bit of a walk we had a porter take our suitcases gave him some rand. Have to say hire car made me fill a bit like a criminal the way they checked car over and be prepared to get your things out quick. From the hotel took us about 25-30 mins to drive on the Tuesday afternoon made sure we missed rush hour. Hyde Hotel has underground parking which was secure and easy to transfer luggage to and from the room etc. Staff allowed us to leave luggage securely out of room before leaving so we could make the most of last few hours in Seapoint.

Dear Michelle K The charge is set for outside guests and is voided if you spend over R150 per person, however our pool deck is not big enough to accommodate it to be free for all outside guests and a full hotel unfortunately. The charge is there to limit the amount of guests and to not fill the pool deck so our in-house guests wont have space to enjoy themselves.
