Detailed Reviews
Very nice and tranquil place. Great to have your dog with you. Be careful to book breakfast and dinner as advertised on Booking.com, they have a solo person whom prepare the meals. It was simply cancelled after I checked in and settled in the Cabin, seemingly for some personal reason. They should have a backup plan, since I have packed self catering for 3 days, and the balance of days was booked for. Management informed me that I can go to restaurants in the area, which is not always possible travelling with your dog. They made a suggestion which I followed up. Sadly, I came for peace and rest, but had extremely load neighbors, being drunk and played load music all the time. No point in complaining to management, as the noisy guest would have made my stay more unpleasant. They passed by my cabin often at high noise levels to make use of an island in the bass dam, leaving glass bottles behind. Management should check on their quests frequently and attend to this kind of thing. There is no privacy, since the porch whish one spend most of your time there, is open and facing other cabins. I decided to leave by the 3rd day of 7 days booked. I would have expected management to at least offer a long weekend to compensate. Never the less, do not expect peace over a Christmas period there. Lastly, serious house keeping is needed in the cabin. Freezer part of fridge froze good, bottom part of fridge barely kept cold what was inside. Credit to the wifi as it is good.

The place had a nice scenery and great hiking trail to the waterfall. But the room wasn't properly cleaned but overall good stay. The location is also secluded which requires the need for a higher riding vehicle.

A great place with a beautiful view. In the area it’s hard to beat the venue for the price. There are some things that can improve, but overall, great value for money. The cabins are located next to a small lake giving you a beautiful view of the Magoebaskloof mountains throughout the day. The staff are very friendly and helpful when needed.

This is a beautiful setting, with lovely cabins which is sadly very poorly run. Stayed two nights while attending a wedding. It was a freezing cold few days and we had no hot water. No heaters in the room and staff on sight were reluctant to provide this. On the last morning when we eventually did have hot water, the tap for one of the showers literally fell out of the wall, resulting in the bathroom being flooded. Threadbare towels, limited crockery and cutlery provided for self-catering. A big unwieldy bunch of keys which make opening doors and security gates a chore.
On a positive note, WiFi was fast. Staff tried hard to attend to the difficulties but management has a lot to answer for. A frustrating stay

This has been by far thee worst place and experience ever. Rooms were dirty, uncleaned, from the living room, to the bedroom, a whole bathroom, I even took pictures of everything. I reported it and was not even assisted. we had to buy cleaning chemicals and literally clean the place!! on holiday?? I am disappointed honestly, we booked in advance, so they knew that the place was booked for guests. least they could've done was to prepare the place! Management need to do something about this!

What a wonderful experience from staff to stay. Loved everything about the place.
Felt like waking up in an enchanted forest to the birds and the morning dew and the monkeys playing.
Was the most peaceful place of rest we've had in a looong time. Loved the breakfast, Comfortable bed and had everything we needed and appreciate in a weekend stayover.

We were put into a larger cabin (No. 3) because of maintenance problems with the one that we originally booked (No. 1). Unfortunately, the bathroom is adjacent to the kitchen and there were sewage smells emanating from there. The cabin was comfortable and all necessary appliances were available, however, the remotes for the TV and DSTV modem were non-functional. The views were fantastic and there is a trail up the mountain, but it hasn't been maintained and the path was difficult to follow. At one point, I couldn't cross the river because of fallen trees blocking the path. Overall, we enjoyed the quiet solitude and scenic beauty of the place.

Please save your money and make bookings elsewhere, located in a beautiful area, very quite and scenic but unfortunately that's not the case with their cabins, dishes, bathroom, bedding all very filthy, spider webs everywhere. No security by their entrance, anyone can drive in anytime of the day,I was petrified couldn't sleep at all. This place needs maintenance period! There's another clean and secure place less than a km away.

I can recommend Magoebaskloof Getaway to anyone seeking the beautiful peace and quiet of this area. Amazing scenery, bird life and the cabins are clean with everything you need to have a great time away from home. We were made to feel really at home and we really had time to rest. They are also pet friendly and our two golden retrievers enjoyed the stay just as much as we did - they even had a swim in the dam. Fishing is also allowed in the two dams and we had a great time catching some fish. Awesome hiking trials and waterfalls in the area. There is really a lot to do in the area.

Not cleaned properly - extremely dusty inside and on veranda. Shower rosette was blocked. Walls need to be painted. Interior decorating not esthetically pleasant. Good view although only plantations and very little indigenous plants.

Hi. You need to understand that it is very steep when going out, but have never had problems. I have a bakkie (not a 4x4) that I have quite a few times helped tow caravans out for those that feel there vehicle is not strong enough without any problem. If however you are not at peace then rather camp somewhere else. Funnily enough help and old couple with their caravan today as they have a Toyota Venuer and they loved it hear and were also on there way to the Kruger.
