Looking for a great backpackers or hostel in Muizenberg? You’ve come to the right place! Stoked Backpackers is literally a stone’s throw away from Surfers’ Corner in Muizenberg, Cape Town. This popular swimming beach is a blue flag beach, which means it gets top marks for safety, cleanliness and amenities. The beach break produces great waves, making it a hot spot for surfers. In fact, Muizenberg is one of the World’s Best Surf Towns, according to National Geographic, who say, "A great surf town is the nearly magical sum of consistent waves, inviting accommodation, friendly locals, fun nightlife, delicious food, and plenty of activities should the ocean go flat."
The place is very central near everything, train station, sea, there is also checkers supermarket nearby. The kictchen is a little bit small but we were able to accommodate each other. the stairs to the kitchen was a good exercise. The staff was also very friendly. the rooms were perfect clean with white linen and I mean white, beds were comfortable they also have bar fridges. Free wifi and free coffee I will go back again.
I would highly recommend a stay at Stoked Backpackers. The location is excellent, right beside the beach, close to surf schools and a couple of nice restaurants. Our room was clean and accommodation felt very secure. Most of all, we really appreciated the warmth and kindness of the staff. Will definitely be recommending to friends.
Can’t speak to the standard of the accommodation, but the cafe is very poor. As a vegetarian, I was super excited to see there was a veggie cafe in Muizenberg, but the menu was very disappointing (basically the sort of boring and basic veg stir fry with soy sauce/ sandwich/ nachos/ pasta/ coconut curry that people make as students). I placed an order but they were out of the ingredients for two of the things I wanted so I gave up and walked out. They massively need to raise their game.
The backpackers is in a good locarion, has a magnificent view with upstairs kitchen and chilling deck, kitchen is tiny, yet easy to navigate, dorms are cozy and bathrooms clean, the staff is also very helpful and made me feel at home. Thanks for the wonderful stay, metta to u
We stopped over here for one night at the start of a Garden Route road trip. I think during summer this would be a fun and happening place to stay. At the start of winter it was dead. We had a 13 bed dorm to ourselves besides one staff member sleeping there. Yep 13 beds!! This dorm was in the basement and only had one bathroom in the middle of the room so not somewhere you want to be if it's full. There's also a tiny lounge loft area with TV and books that you climb a ladder to reach but would only fit 4 people in. There is a small kitchen upstairs attached to a dining space and outdoor deck with views over the ocean. The hostel is located just over the train track (there's a path over) to the beach and main strip of restaurant, shops and surf schools. There is also a train station right next to the hostel which is noisy when trains are arriving. It was handy to have a car park next to the hostel although it also connects to the train station so not particularly safe. The WiFi was pretty crap.

Hi, Thanks for your interest in staying at Stoked. It depends on the time of the year, and sometimes the day of the week, but for the most part, people go out to party. There are sometimes a few gathering on the deck, but for the most part, everyone is pretty mellow. It's a beach thing.
