Ok, I know this hotel is cheap, and near the airport, but for the love of God what a mistake…. No wifi, no TV, no free airport shuttle, no bottled water and no towels!!?? What on earth? But worst of all- cockroaches. What a treat. I cannot over emphasize this. Pay the extra few bucks, stay somewhere else.

I booked this place for one night as we were arriving very late in Cancun after a marathon trip from Europe, therefore we only needed a place to sleep. On arrival we were informed that Wi-Fi and TV was not available. Don’t need tv but no Wi-Fi (when Wi-Fi is advertised) was a bummer. The room smelled of mould. Breakfast served at a Mexican prison is about the level their aiming for here. We had a good laugh about it though, so something positive came out of that. Seems as if they’re only still in business due to the closeness to the airport, cheap prices and therefore luring desperate, exhausted travellers like us. On the good side, it’s close to the airport and the beds were really comfortable. Bathroom was clean and so was the rest of the room. Even if I was in the same situation again, I’d find somewhere else.

I had a terrible experience at the Comfort Inn Cancún. Will never recommend it to anyone. Not even because it is so conveniently located near the airport, or because of its reasonable cost and excellent Internet connection. Simply said, I was robbed US$ $239.68 by the hotel manager. After I went to sleep, the TV fell off its base and crashed onto the floor. I did not even watch TV, as I streamed a movie on my computer. I immediately wrote an email informing, and first thing in the morning went to the front desk to tell the attendant in person. He came up to my room, looked at the damage and told me he would ask his supervisor. I had to check out at 9 am to go to the airport, so, as I was about to leave, he mentioned that although he had not been able to locate his supervisor, a similar event occurred recently, and, since they could not blame the customer, they did not charge a penalty. Therefore, he believed that it would be the same with me. However, when I arrived home, several hours later, I found a very rude email from the manager accusing me for running away without informing of the damage. His/her (did not sign a name) decision was that since I had behaved in a delinquent manner, I was guilty, so would be charged US$ $239.68 for a new TV. I wrote back informing that I had indeed reported the incident and had interacted with the front desk in person, who even came to my room. I never received a response, and have not been able to reverse the charge on my card. A charge that was made before even considering my response, and, needless to say, without my authorization. On top of that, the room was excessively noisy (both the A/C and noise from the adjoining room) and the breakfast was a disgrace.

I did not stay at this Comfort Inn, but I was forced to briefly enter while en route to the Fairfield Inn because my wheelchair battery was about to die (yes, I drive my wheelchair long distances and am used to it). I needed a taxi to haul me another mile, and coming from the States, I couldn’t use my phone without getting charged a ridiculous fee. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH to the front desk for helping me hail a taxi van and assisting the driver with lifting the chair into the back! Cancun doesn’t have wheelchair accessible taxis, so lifting a chair of my size isn’t easy. I can’t thank the staff enough for rescuing me in my frustrating situation! Now...I realize dozens of reviews are extremely negative toward experiences when staying here...so I don’t plan to actually try doing so myself. It sounds a little shady. But why not brighten your day by adding a positive review to the mix?! Keep up the kind work, staff at the Comfort Inn!

My flight changed while I was in Cancun so I needed to stay by the airport for an early AM flight. I booked a room at this hotel. I should have known better when my Taxi driver said, are you sure you want to stay here? We only needed the hotel for 6 hours and I booked it because of the free airport shuttle advertised on every site you find this hotel. He started off by charging me extra for my kids. Priceline, for whatever reason doesn't ask and always just books for 2 adults. I then asked for the airport transfers at 330am and he said, they don't do that. I had to figure it out on my own late on Christmas Eve. None of us felt safe or secure at this hotel. The shower enclosure was broken. Then shower head was rusted out and dysfunctional. The TV was broken and would not turn on. I reported it all to the front desk and they shrugged their shoulders like "what do you want?" They made no effort to fix things. They posted a promise of satisfaction, but don't really care about it. I called Choice hotels, the parent company and they reported it to the hotel so they could resolve it. The hotel management never even responded. Don't do it. I know it looks inexpensive and close to the airport. Its not worth it. Look elsewhere.
