We arrived at The Grand on a Sunday, June 6 and left on Friday, June 11. We had THE BEST time. We are not members and didn't book through a member. We have stayed at other all inclusives in Cancun and Jamaica and travel a lot in the US. We had amazing service in the restaurants, at the bars and around the pools! Everything was clean and maintained. The food was delicious everywhere we ate (The Grill - awesome steak, Jade - went there twice because it was so good, JC Steakhouse - we were fortunate and were able to walk in and get a table, Cusco for breakfast buffet - better and less crowded than the main lobby buffet, Los Tacos was good for a light lunch, Habibi and Tavola - lunch is much less crowded and same menu as dinner). We loved the activity pool and the water park. We never had an issue getting a lounger. We had a lot of fun with our 13 year old at Wired and the Playroom. We also rode to Sunrise and back on the bikes. We had a great time at the shows (Elements, Paul Ponce, Magic Show, Sand Art and Pop Show). The Magic Show was probably our favorite. Our room was cleaned daily, mini bar restocked daily and any time I needed something, I requested it via the app and it came in a timely manner. I was worried before we came after reading some of the most recent reviews, but our experience was amazing and we would definitely return. We have zero complaints. Some tips from members of this group that I used and appreciate: take your own floaties and stainless steel drinkware for the pools, take extra sunscreen, take plenty of singles and fives to tip (they most definitely deserve it!), order a lavender pillow, visit the Coconut Bar on the beach, stay in building 88 and try to get on the third floor and make good use of the app! One thing I would change was for us to leave earlier for the airport. We arrived a little more than 2 hours early(our choice) and the line to get through to get our boarding passes and check our bags was incredibly long. Fortunately they moved those on our flight up to the front so we wouldn't miss our flight. So if we ever return, we will be there at least 3 hours early.…
My partner and I spent 10 days at the Grand at Moon Palace. We had a phenomenal time! Everything was taken care of for us, We finished our stay with the Romantic Dinner by the Beach Club on our last night. Gabriel, Edoardo, and Teresita did a wonderful job of taking care of us! Such a wonderful time!
The place and staff go above and beyond….special thank you to the water park staff….Rafael,Antonio,Gilmer,Alejandro and Ceaser…Thanks for treating my family like your own….Highly recommend The grill and the awesome coffee shop….Thanks again to everyone
Summary - Over crowded. Dollar for dollar, it is difficult to find a better property in The Cancun area. The resort, restaurants and amenities are fabulous. The majority of the experience is wonderful, but ownership has aggressively sold membership to the resort for the past 20 years and the resort operates at more than 95% occupancy on average. The crowds create multiple challenges and ultimately you spend 25% or more of your vacation waiting. The staff is constantly overwhelmed and you are competing for resources all of the time. It’s soul sucking after 3-4 days and after a week, just no fun. Vacation is for relaxing, tough to do that at the Grand.
My family and I visited The Grand in February 2021. Our youngest has Celiac and Andres from the Grill and Grand buffet went above and beyond. He went out of his way to have him chocolate chip pancakes and muffins each morning. Our son is such a picky eater and Andres offered to have gluten free pasta available for him at the grill for lunch. He was amazing! Another great worker was Oscar from the bowling alley. He was a huge help and so kind. He remembered us from prior visits and would make sure we had a lane to bowl each night.
