At Hilton Puerto Vallarta Resort, the attentive and friendly staff frequently receives accolades for enhancing guest experiences with their professionalism. While opinions on value vary, with some guests questioning the cost of certain events and on-site purchases, the lively atmosphere is a highlight, thanks to nightly entertainment and a range of activities. The rooms boast cleanliness and ocean views, despite occasional noise.
Amenities like diverse dining options are well-regarded, although availability may be limited. The convenient location and exceptional cleanliness, especially in pools and beaches, further contribute to the resort's appeal.

Detailed Reviews
We had a great time at this resort last year so we decided to return and had another great experience. The resort is about a half-hour from the airport. Good food and even better staff. We love that this resort is adults only. Yes, the sun doesn't hit the pools at ground level until 11 or noon but if you're desperate for the sun you can go up to the Skybar and layout there. There are two hot tubs up there as well and yes they are actually hot. If you're looking for a place with a bunch of options for food this resort probably isn't for you. There are usually 3 restaurants open each night plus the buffet. The buffet is closed one night per week so you'll want to get to a restaurant early so that you don't have to wait a long time to eat. No reservations are taken days ahead of time. You can order room service at no extra charge 24 hours per day and we enjoyed that. There is also a poolside menu that you can order from and the waiters will take your order. Drinks were typically made pretty strong, but they were good. We enjoyed that there was a DJ that started every day around noon and it did get pretty loud at times. If you wanted to get away from the music you could find a chair down on the beach. This resort does tend to cater to large corporate groups so it can get very busy at times (may want to get up early to set some towels on chairs to reserve them). If you want to go into town the people that hang out at the entrance will have you a cab in minutes. It cost around $10 each way. Our favorite part about the resort is the people who work there. They work so hard to try to ensure that you have a good time. I would like to thank Aldo and Abraham (pool activities), Ernesto (You restaurant), and David, Estefania, and Juan (bartenders) for making our experience memorable once again.

Just back from Porta Vallarta Grand Fiesta Americana. Arrived at the hotel all looked good, shown the front desk and checked all all very smoothly. They gave us a sheet of paper with all the restaurants and bars opening time on and the WiFi code what they didn't say was that it changes every Monday, we found that out ourselves. We were told our room number (319) down stairs, it was a junior suite with limited sea view. I thought going down stair it was going to be limited, what a surprise when we opened the door two double beds and a day couch. Also on the balcony we could see the whole bay , great.
What they also dont tell you is that they have conventions in the hotel with about 150/200 delegates . Not as that is a problem its when they go en mass to a bar or restaurant you have to queue for 45 mins to an hour to get in then another 45 mins for your food. Also in the day taking over some of the pool areas.
The room maid service was hit and miss, it was 5 days before we got clean sheets, the floor not swept every day, and each day different towels missing , face flannels, shower mat you get the drift. On speaking to other holiday makers they had the same problem. There was a coffee machine in the room they left coffee but no milk/creamer you had to ring the front desk every day for some.
The staff in the restaurants and the beach bar boys were great and work very hard. On saying all this we did have a good holiday, it was the accumulation of little thing that spoilt it and turn it from a 5 star to a 4. There are better much better 5 star hotels in Mexico having been to the Rivera Maya twice before.
Would i recommend this hotel No

Stayed at the resort in early February, not going to find a better resort in PV. The service, food, rooms and beach/pool is amongst the best in PV. We had a room on the 3rd floor in the north tower which gave us a perfect view of the ocean, if your in the south tower floors 1-3 the view most likely will be restricted by the palm trees. The staff are excellent, never had a single issue only great service! The pool area is very large, no fighting for loung chairs at 7:00am in the morning and the pool staff will always get you a chair. The pool staff are amazing, actual pool service where they come by every 15/20 minutes and see what you need. The hotel has great restaurants outside of the buffett that do not require reservations. The beach is excellent as there are break waters installed which always provides calm waters and lots of sandy beach! The hotel is located about 15 minutes from the Romantic zone and with Uber the cost was averaging about 45-65 pesos each way. They have a great beer selection, Corona, Corona Light, Bud, Bud Light etc..I've stayed at a few 5 star resorts in PV, Secrets being one and I found this resort the best especially for the value. Amazing resort, grerat evening shows, friendly staff and a resort I will be going back to!

On arriving at the hotel we had so looked forward too for many months the grandness of the hotel did not disappoint. All the rooms had amazing views over the ocean and the rooms and room facilities are excellent. But how disappointed we were on our first day, on arriving at the Al'a Carte restaurant to be greeted with a very long queue which seemed no one was going in for quite a while. After over 20 minutes we got the restaurant entrance to be told at the moment there are no tables yet, but you can join all those other people sat on those very long sofa's who are also waiting for a table!. so we were effectively then put into a holding pen until further tables came avalable, I cannot say for certain but think it was 1 hour 15 mins when we eventually got into the restaurant for when we were expecting to be eating!. Then there is the service once you are in the restaurants, as they are so busy you can be waiting ages to be served between courses and the food is ok but nothing special. This was typical of the restaurants but towards the end of our 11 night stay the same restaurant after queuing to go in gave us a buzzer and told us to go get a drink in the lobby and they would buzz us when the table was ready which was around 30 minutes!.
But the buffet restaurant is whole other experience, you need a lay down after that due to the jostling, noise and queuing for food!.
Then there are the sun beds, and so lack of, we decided to venture out in the morning coming back just before lunch then decided to look for 2 beds so went got our towels but then could not find a bed, on asking one of the staff he was not very helpful and told us there weren't any!.. So we then lay on the sand instead....It appears that as there are no towel cards people just leave towels on sunbeds so no one knows which ones are being used or not!. Then on another day we again went out on the morning to come back around lunch time to go get towels to be told there weren't any and they had no idea when there would be.
If you are a sun worshipper, then this is not your place, the sun does not come round until lunchtime due to the hotel location and if you want total adults only then this is not your place either as the beach is not private and you get children on there too.
If you also want to hear the calm and quite sounds of nature and waves then think again as after around 12pm the loud thumping sound starts for the entertainment around the pool area, so no matter where you are even at the furthest point on the beach you cannot get away from it.
We had saved really hard for this holiday as this was one of the most expensive holidays we had been on so we expected so much more, but were bitterly disappointed at the hotel for not living up to the expectations.

Staff was really friendly- especially Francisco and Jonathan in Da Brick restaurant!
Jose in the lobby earned the title of Mojito man!
Marcos made the best omelets!
Housekeeping was spotty with replenishing fridge items unless you tipped and asked specifically.
AC could have been cooler.
Even though it is an adults only resort, there were plenty of kids on the beach on Sunday- the only day we saw kids.
It was a fun trip, we booked our two excursions with Javier who wanders the beach with his deals rather than booking through the hotel- cheaper and more personal attention.

I am a travel agent that went with my husband to see what this resort was like. Very clean, not so big you can get around easy, staff was amazing but the view is what sold me. All rooms are ocean view which I loved. A few mornings I just sat on my balcony watching a family of humpback whales very close to the beach swimming with my starbucks coffee (extra charge in the lobby about $4 US). This resort had jet skis to rent at 80.00 for a half hour and kayakes to use also. The entertainment was not the best but I asked around and people that had stayed here before said its because of covid. I read and saw pics that this resort had Crown Royal, Jack Daniels and other International liquor available but to my surprise they are only offered in the VIP lounge and the main lounge. They did have the bottles hidden at the lounge bar but when asked they would serve it. Swim up bar was limited on the liquors that they had available and ran out of what I drank twice. I did really enjoy that you could order food at the swimming pool and have an employee bring it to you. We ordered wings, burgers, salad and nachos etc while swimming. Big thanks to all of the staff they were amazing but Alfredo and Abraham for being so great to us. I used uber this entire trip and it was 3-4 US to the Malecon Boardwalk and 6 US to the airport. I would highly recomend gong to the boardwalk. I was surprised that the steak house was an extra 75 US a person. Food was good especially the Shore Grill during the day and my favorite was Italian. Infinity pools would get a bit cold around 5PM. In the morning the resort shadows the pools so it takes until 1PM for the sun to shine on the pools. The entire resort has tiled floors and I liked that they were not marble as sometimes marble can get very slippery. This is a non smoking resort but does have some designated places you can smoke non of which are in the building. I will be back and I would definately book my clients here. BEAUTIFUL VIEW.

When going to Puerto Vallarta we were concerned about safety as we had been advised to not go to Mexico.
While at the all-inclusive resort, we felt very safe and all of the water was bottled and no one that went with us had issues with the quality of the water or bacteria.
I can recommend this Resort and I would recommend that you stay in one of the suites as the regular roomd are not as nice even though all have Ocean View) and the house cleaners mop the tile floors with something that smells like pine sol and the odor lingers in the smaller rooms.
The food was good and the people that were on the staff were wonderful all around.

We’ve stayed at the Grand Fiesta Americana in Cabo a few years ago and loved it, so our expectations were high. After about a 25 min drive from the airport, and the lobby is beautiful and spacious with open air viewing the ocean! When we arrived to our room, it was roomy with a nice balcony to view the ocean waves (all rooms are ocean front). On first impression it was clean, but after looking further there were stains on the bed linens, the couch, the back door, and the walls. The pool had plenty of chairs and cabanas to lounge around, but again, the cushions were ripped and stained, and the cabanas were missing some rails on the back side. The pool was very clean! The beach was small but had very soft sand to walk in and easy to get in and out of the water. On Sunday morning I heard kids screaming and playing. I looked out and they allow families to come set up directly in front of the hotel on the (small) beach. This is an adults only resort and even though that is a public beach, I think the staff should tell them it is inappropriate to set up right in front of the resort with paying guests. There is enough beach to the side of the resort they can hang out at. They only have a few restaurants open for lunch and a few only open for dinner, so your options are limited. No reservations were needed, as it is “slow season” and probably have a Covid capacity to the hotel. The food was average, not great. They did have hand sanitizer stations everywhere and required masks when walking through the hotel, but not outside at the pool. The Covid test prepared by the hotel was pretty straight forward and they made it convenient for guests. The spa had limited options but their haxia massage was wonderful. Only turn off was they had workers in the lobby of the spa working on putting a new logo up. The other spa amenities were closed due to Covid. We heard that this hotel was recently sold to Hyatt and the transition began during our stay. Not sure if this is the cause of some of our complaints. The overall picture is great, but they were really lacking in the details.

Were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary & decided to splurge. Have been travelling to different resorts for years & have been to better places for less! The logistics of the hotel are weakest points:restaurants, maintenance, beach area services. The food is ok. The buffet menu never changes. The restaurant à la carte don’t take reservation & have line ups of 30 minutes & you can see empty tables available! All inclusive is not true! Were at the resort for Xmas & the food was bland! At the New Year’s supper, 700 people wanted to eat. The line up for the buffet was insane, the food was decent. Other resorts give a gift of appreciation for your business. Nothing from this resort! The room has a nice view but cleaning is done quickly. The mini bar is rarely fully restocked. There’s an espresso machine in the room with only 2 pods. If you just want a regular coffee, go downstairs. The beach is small. There are not enough chairs & have to get up early to fight for a spot! The pool area is noisy, loud music all day. There’s nowhere outside on the resort where you can sit and enjoy the sun without hearing the base of music. The beach washrooms are not cleaned regularly, ALWAYS something missing. Staff is sometimes talking to each other, ignoring you. The resort uses scented toilet paper = yeast infection! If we could have packed our things, we would have done it. Talked to the hotel manager about our concerns & disappointments. He apologized. Nothing changed, no compensation.

If you want to relax, feel special and treat yourself to a wonderful vacation, this is the place. We are “owners” in our golden years. We stayed in the south tower (north tower is more quiet), and had an excellent view of the evening entertainment. We rented a beach cabana near the north tower—away from the party pool. Staff is most accommodating—Jose made sure our luggage was placed in our room and every day took the time to say hello. Rogelio, the night manager is friendly and was willing to move us to another room. We declined. Chris and Aldo at the pool kiosk made sure we had towels and arranged for our foot massages done by Anaysa and Anabel. The New Year’s eve buffet was excellent and the fireworks display most memorable. We will return.
