This hotel is of the older generation. In the rooms, there is a cabinet where a frig was installed but they have been removed, obviously, the reason being there is a full (all-inclusive if wanted) restaurant and bar on site. All rooms come with a balcony and look inwards onto the pleasant gardens (inner courtyard) which have a nice ambiance. There is a 50ft x 50ft unheated swimming pool with paddling areas. There are 22 recliners and only 3 sun parasols at a few tables which is not nearly sufficient for 130 rooms hence, my comment below for this item is 'Not Sure'. The rooms are air-conditioned.
All bathrooms come with a large shower and adequate hot water supply but the vanity, and wash basin area are tiny (I don’t know which room has the vanity shown on the web photo), only sufficient for one toilet bag. Two small bottles of water are supplied each day. Some rooms, not many, have a safe. There is a reasonably sized closet for hanging clothes other than that there are 3 desk drawers and two bedside drawers, totally insufficient, the rest of your stuff stays in your suitcase.
The restaurant and bar are under a thatched roofed building with all open sides in the garden area next to the pool and looking out onto the very popular Puerto Vallarta Marina in a very good location. Food is average at best. The hotel is only a short walk from the bus stop into the Old Town. The gym is an afterthought and a bit of a farce. The place is clean. The staff is excellent. The taxi to the airport is Can$7.00. NB. Don't anybody take a taxi out of the airport as there is a huge fixed charge - when leaving the airport turn to the left, cross over the footbridge where regular priced taxis are waiting.

We had a real great deal and had previously stayed nearby the marina and liked the quietness of the area so we decided to take a chance on this hotel despite the reviews. I would give the staff 5 stars. We did have a few issues but the staff really did their best to resolve them. The hotel is old and certainly the rooms are not top notch but it is decently clean and the pool and grounds are lovely. It’s located right in the marina and we found that convenient. The rooms do have mold and are in need of a refresh but we really are only in the room for sleeping anyways so it was tolerable. We always had hot water. If you are looking for a “happening” resort this is definitely not the place for you. The clientele are more mature and this place is nice and quiet! I think the rooms off the ground floor are not as mouldy and some on the 4 th appear to have been more recently been remodeled. We didn’t take the all inclusive and never ate here but the marina and area are loaded with great places to eat. I would stay here again.

We were booked up for 1 month thru Air Canada all inclusive Jan 2023. The room was clean and towels changed daily if you left them on the floor and the bed was made daily also. The air conditioner worked great. The staff were great!, couldn't fault them especially, Hugo, Sherman,Mario,Carlos,Cynthia and her husband at the bar, they were always on top of our needs, great job guys, I hope management let you know how good you guys are. The food was a hit or miss! sometimes same for lunch and dinner, breakfast was lacking in bread, toast, cereals, fruit. The lady that works behind the fry up place touches all your food she makes mostly at breakfast time. I was sick and tired of eggs and waffles which most mornings we had to wait for breakfast, they say they open at 7am but most times it was 8ish, thankgod I brought my own coffee. Now for the worse part of all,the pool game! it clearly states on the rule board at the pool not to place your towel on the loungers if your not there basically not to save the lounger but the problem is its a 99 room hotel and only 21 loungers so people get up during the night to secure the loungers with their towels! oh it was so annoying! I did this this too at 5am everymorning but sat at the table beside the loungers and waited for my husband to come around 7:30 so that we were still at our loungers. People were placing their towels on loungers then leaving for a few hours, some went back to bed expecting to have their loungers when they got back! the security guys were told to lift the towels off the loungers at 10am if not occupied. I watched this happen everyday and their were yelling matches etc, thats why we would never go back there. I mentioned to manager to move tables down the way to make room for at least 25 more loungers, they liked that idea and the next day 4 more loungers came and another 15 to come, well that was 2 weeks ago! If they get more loungers maybe just maybe we might go back as its a great location for the marina, shops, bars, market every Thurs evening! It could be a great hotel if they added coffee machine, safes, fridges, I knew a few people that would buy a toaster, mini fridge, coffee makers for their rooms then have the hotel store them until next time, how crazy is that! anyway the weather was fantastic, we will be back next Jan but in a condo!

Well, the hotel is clean, the staff friendly (for the most part, especially Hugo, who made me feel like a VIP), and the accommodations are adequate. And, for $550 for a week, what can I expect, right? I mean, I didn't see a bug when I was there, and my room was always cleaned well.

Why the 3 stars then? Well, 2 reasons. First, the wristbands. I understand that the hotel has security issues and issues with people using their lobby and/or facilities when they aren't guests. BUT, they make you wear these wristbands that cannot be removed for the duration of your stay. If you do happen to lose it or it falls off, there's a penalty. But what was really annoying about it was the wristband itself. A) it was a pain in the ass and B) it causes tan lines. I know, little things, but seriously, figure out a new method of keeping track of your guests and who belongs/doesn't belong.

Second, the food. Yuck is the best word to describe it. I had an all-inclusive for the remaining 2 days I was there. The drinks were ok but the meals were really gross. Even breakfast was gross. I don't get it. How can you screw up a fried egg?

Other than that, I enjoyed my stay at the Flamingo and when I am looking for budget accommodations, I will think about returning.

Also, please note that the rooms here are loud and when they adjoin to the next door room, they do so in strange places. Mine was adjoined to my neighbor's bathroom, so when they were blowdrying their hair at 630AM, it sounded like they were sitting next to me in bed.

Please stop allowing the same guests to monopolize the three tables that are by the pool as well as all of the lounge chairs. They would literally have their towels on the chairs before the seat cushions were placed every day. The hotel did nothing about this, there is a sign that said no outside drinks but guests had coolers every day. The hotel allows a handful of guests to monopolize the pool and the furniture, it is sad. The grounds are lovely and the staff is nice but we will not return.

We arrived at the Flamingo hotel and we’re very very happy with the location and the close proximity to all the little restaurants and pubs. I especially loved the open air market on Thursday evenings. I felt extremely safe which is important to me . My husband goes to sleep early and it was nice that I could get out and walk around and be amused by all the different venues at the market or on any other evening . There’s yoga and inexpensive massages and a gym and even a Starbucks ! We also enjoyed the diversity of foods Italian Asian Mexican American etc . All at our fingertips and All great !!!! I loved overlooking the marina the seeing the beautiful sunsets and watching the local crocodiles 🐊 We will
Absolutely go back

My Visa was Charged 2 - two days prior to arrival. No relief, reconciliation, explanation as to charges both on my visa and in person. Treated by Reception Manager Sandra with total disregard and demeaning, demoralizing attitude. Still do not have a proper accounting of what each of the two rooms cost per day.

Room request for disabled guest in my party ignored and we were placed in a room the furthest away from elevator.

Within minutes of arrival in room the toilet bowel actually came right off. Had to leave room for several hours to affect repair. Which subsequently was just caulking and toilet was always wobbling.

Shower leaked all over floor into the sink area.

Bedding - blanket shredded

Floor grout filthy

Towels like sandpaper

Pull out sofa broken - metal sticking out and filthy

All inclusive food was absolutely disgusting. Repeat food daily. Repurposed food, ie; chicken nuggets turned into sweet and sour chicken. Pancakes like frisbee disks. No salad dressings. No vinegar.

Restaurant was supposed to be ready/open at 7am at least for coffee. It was usually not ready until at least 7:15.

The bellman actually took items left for maid for his wife he said.

We had stayed here before and were so shocked and sad at the total downturn of the services and food. Let alone the room.

Very, very disappointing all inclusive.

Unfortunately I booked for 5 days and was stuck in this dump. I almost left to go somewhere else anyway but stayed though I didn't eat any more of the pig swill they served in the restaurant. The room was dirty. Balcony smelled like a poorly serviced public toilet. Hardly any hot water for the shower which dribbled out making showers take forever. I got the all inclusive package and that was the worst mistake. The food was made from very poor quality ingredients and was cooked in the worst manner I have ever experienced. Its like someone went dumpster diving at a market picking up all the food that wasn't fit to sell. Then they overcook it to death and turn everything into a sloppy mess that nobody wants to eat so they warm it back up and bring it out the next day too. This hotel obviously doesn't care if people come back to stay again and obviously don't expect anyone to do so. I ended up going out to restaurants rather than eat the slop they served to us. The manager made it clear to me that she had no interest in my opinion of the hotel so I will leave it here instead.

We were in town for a cardiology conference. We paid extra for “ocean view.” Big mistake!
The good: cute, authentic hotel, nice pool.
The bad: as many others have noted, the noise is horrible. You can hear every word, sigh and snort from your neighbors even with double earplugs. And there is a weird echo. No sleep.
There is a string mold/mildew smell. Hard to breathe. Smells like sewage in bathroom.
We had to leave a day early because we couldn’t sleep or breathe. I missed a day of the conference as a result.
They refused any refund for amount I prepaid AND they charged me $30 American dollars because I lost the plastic towel key card!!! I asked if they would be kind enough to not charge us for the lost towel card. She never even offered any apology!!! She refused to let me to talk with the manager.
Next time we will stay at the Marriott, where the conference is held.
Customer service is everything. Seriously lacking here.

We had booked 3 rooms for December 2021 through Hotels.com early in the year and a few weeks later received an email from them telling us that because it was their busiest season we had to pay for the room up front even though we had selected the pay later option on Hotels.com and that we had to purchase the new years eve dinner in order to hold our reservation. I told them they cannot do that and that I would report them to Hotels.com (which I did) so then fast forward to this week when they sent us an email that they were having issues with my credit card and promptly cancelled our reservation. When I called them they said that I could re-book the rooms at the new higher rate! Now I am struggling to find a new place to stay and wish I had never booked with them at all! Beware of this property!

Hello, Sorry for the delay , I was out of country . Not sure on the nearest beach access questions as I usually just take a taxi . All beaches are pubic. To be honest beaches on the west coast of Mexico tend to be not so great unless you go to a smaller sheltered bay area like Mismaloya , which I highly recommend .
