Rented a airb&b in the complex in January then a suite in the hotel for part of February. The place has a great pool, enough lounges, comfortable beds and great staff and security, beautiful landscape, the restaurant in the complex was good but only open in the morning . Close to restaurants and shopping centres. Our suite had kitchen ( that what we wanted coming from a airb&b) but was extremely minimal we had to purchase several kitchen items like dishcloths, lighter for the gas stove, pay for drinking water etc
The airb@b didn’t mention it’s pet friendly, most people did look after them but some could be annoying (barking) the suite was open to the hallway and stairway so could be noisy.
Also didn’t care for noisy day visitors or radios by the pool, prefer my own music (I use headphones). I know I’m picky but I’m on holidays and paying.

This place is right in the hotel zone of Puerto Vallarta, not far from Malecon and shopping.
We stayed at this hotel not because it was pet friendly, that part concerned us, as it was the only hotel we could find at the time we needed one. We had left a place because of noise mostly by locals dogs barking all night. But here they have rules, and dogs must be on a leash, not near the pool, and kept quiet. One heard the occasional bark, but it was quieted quickly. The pool area was very clean, as were the showers and washrooms at the pool. No dogs allowed in area, or in pool. We got a really nice room with a kitchen, but no balcony, which was okay, but would have preferred a balcony. There is an on sight little cafe, serves breakfast, lunch, not sure about dinner. Food is good, plain, but good, and you can get authentic Mexican as well. The people running the little diner are very nice. There is lots of restaurants nearby, and shopping. Big mall to shop at for pretty much everything you need. There is OXO stores on every corner, they got lots of what you need, and booze, for good prices.

Great place to stay when exploring PVR! Spotless room, lovely staff on reception. Room i stayed in was a little dated, but had everything I needed (except a hairdryer). There were nice views over the pool too which was pretty nice. Located next to mall with supermarket and Mcdonalds. Would recommend!

We decided against extending our stay in an all inclusive and we moved to Puerto de Luna. We took a suite with a kitchen, living room, dining room, balcony on the first floor
It is one block from Plaza Caracol where there is a Soriana Supermarket. Also a great BBQ chicken place and many little restaurants and ice cream shops.
We enjoyed the freedom to cook or not to cook. Our breakfast is simple with ground flax seeds. Having a fridge was great
We enjoyed the ping pong tables and the pool. Great company with many Canadians from Quebec who stayed 2-3 months
A nice little place. More personal

Our flight was canceled, and after a week at an all-inclusive, we spent 2 nights at Puerto del Luna. We have 2 children, ages 10 and 12, and I thought it was a charming place to stay. It is a bit older and simple, but it was cute, and safe, and made me feel like I was in Mexico. We loved the pool and the ping pong tables. The location was fantastic, as we could walk to anything and everything or take the bus. If I was going to Mexico on a dream vacation, this would not be the hotel I would choose, but as a budget friendly choice, I think it ticks all of the boxes. Omar at the front desk was great. he helped us with multiple things as we were trying to sort ourselves out after finding out we'd be "stuck" in Mexico for an additional week. the definitely took some of our stress away and was very accommodating. I liked this place a lot for the price.

We had a restful night last night. Just be careful if you are challenged by steps. some buildings are 3 stories. Ask for the ground floor.
We had breakfast in the onsite restaurant. breakfast was quite tasty. (omellete) The coffee was strong, which I prefer. We were waited on by Daniella. A very nice young woman who is a very good server. Her smile made my day. I recommend this restaurant and staff for a traveller.

Very quaint place in the middle of town. Pet friendly a d one building was too noisy. We moved to another and it was perfect. Within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. Food court out front with a wide variety. Tennis and pickle ball close by.

We booked our trip to PV through Expedia for a stay in June '04, we usually use a timeshare on Kauai, but we wanted to try someplace different this year, I read pages of reviews of different hotels and came to the conclusion that 'you can't please everyone all the time' regardless of which property they were reviewing. The negative reviews I read about Puerto de Luna lead me to believe some people want 5 star service at a 3 star price. Puerto de Luna is a very nice 'average' property with some beautiful surroundings, very private, very quiet, very low key. If your looking for fast paced, lots of activities to keep you busy and swim up bars, stay somewhere else, if you want a place to relax around an uncrowded pool with the sounds of birds instead of kids screaming and yelling, stay here. At arrival a young man named Antonio took all our baggage, verified our room and took care of our check-in, (be aware- everywhere in PV is a timeshare waiting to happen-Puerto de Luna is no exception), they offer you a 'welcome' orientation with a wonderful lady named Ruthie, its a timeshare come-on with activity "discount' offers (I found later you could get the same if not better activity prices buy booking ahead of time online). We booked a junior suite, w/kitchenette, the room was exactly as pictured on their internet site, the only dissapointment was that there wasn't an oven or cooktop, only a microwave, I found out that the master suites have an oven-junior suites have a microwave, and their web site does state that, I just happened to miss that. Yes, as others have stated the beds are hard. There is one mattress manufacturer in PV and the hotels only use them, so be advised. Everything in the room worked fine, the housekeeping was very good, they waited until we were out before attempting to clean our room, never disturbed or displaced us in an attempt to clean. The cafe/store on site usually isn't open, but thats why you booked a kitchenette, right. No, there isn't an ice machine on site but there is a young man working the grounds who will run two blocks down the street to the Gigante store and purchase ice for you. Within easy walking distance is the Gigante store, the Carona distributor (best beer prices) and some of the best little family run cafes around. Don't be hesitant to try these little cafes, especially 'Tia Maria's', the Mahi-Mahi tacos were excellent. Transportation options are ,walking, taxi or bus, we took the taxi's everywhere, for three dollars US you could go as far south as the Rio Cuale river, that covers about all the tourist sites, the rest is just a short walk south, just be sure to ask how much before getting in, we only had a couple that qouted us 40 or 45 peso's ($4-4.50 US) but we questioned why so much and it quickly became 30 peso's ($3 US). Enough of my ramblings, in summary, would we go back to PV, maybe. If we did would we stay at Puerto de Luna, yes. Enjoy--Relax, Lifes too Short.

Hi Nancy I did not see dogs on the buses but I think if your dog is quiet and stays in your lap you will likely be fine. I did see dogs at some beach restaurants. The people with dogs sat at the outer edge of the restaurant - table closest to the beach. Karen

Good afternoon We are only 15 minutes from the center and the bus stop, and you can take the bus to the front of the hotel. Our good location allows you to walk to the shopping centers to the dens that are fashionable. To go to Sayulita you have to go to the Walmart stop which is 6 minutes by bus, and from there it will take you about 30 or 40 minutes to get to the town of Sayulita.

Can't help you with this. We always stay in the cheapest rooms they have. They do have "suites," which appeared to be adjoining rooms. This is not an elegant luxury hotel. But it is a perfectly fine hotel where you can bring your dog (s). They have a lovely pool. And a small restaurant. Also a fenced in dog park. It is centrally located, but sits well back from the main avenue in P.V. so is quiet. If you travel with pets, Puerto de Luna is an essential hotel in P.V. It is a very modest hotel, but the only place I know of that takes dogs. I love the place.
