Detailed Reviews
Our return(5th) to Villa Del Palmar had some ups and downs this time. The positives like great location, courteous service , room amenities, and various attractions for adults and children(shows, water aerobics, Bingo, Donkey Races, beach side vendors etc. children's play room, waterslide etc.)
This trip we noticed some changes:The first being that our advance room request was not available(as most guests found). Guests with mobility issues were re-routed until accomodations were made for ground level or near elevators. This seems to be quite common procedure for this hotel. Keeps the bellhops busy and helps their tips despite being All Inclusive.., Secondly, On arrival, we received a list of services that were not included in our All inclusive package. Be sure to ask! This was later corrected by staff. Third, there is no overview sheet for guests to know which events are offered and on what days, so that some restaurants(Italian) were closed.
Also All Inclusive resorts seem to be open to the public now so guests need to know that billboard prices at restaurants do not apply to guests but to the visitors.
Despite the changes, we still enjoyed our visit, the people who served us, and the ones we met. Weather was great!

Our one bedroom suite was large, colorful, and included a kitchen with everything we could possibly want.
The resort is a perfect size. You are not too far from the beach, pool, or restaurants at any time. The deli on site makes it easy to pick up any needed food items or drinks without going to a grocery store.
The location is perfect because the marina is close on one side and the malecon is close on the other side. Being right on Banderas Bay made everything more exciting!
The staff is unbelievably friendly and accommodating! Martin, our concierge, was always available and willing to help with everything and anything we needed.
We hope to return soon since Villa Del Palmar has everything we need and like in a resort.

From the moment we stepped foot onto the site we felt extremely welcomed!! The entire staff was amazing Best 8 days spent in Puerto Vallarta!!
Everyone that we encountered always made us feel so welcomed from day 1 to day 8.
Iris & Tania were so friendly whenever we had any questions about our resort stay or our membership.
Daniel, Miguel, Joaquin Were the most AMAZING pool side servers!! My cup was never empty and drinks kept coming food was non stop kids were happy. They were great!!
Karina would come around to let everyone know that she was going to get activities started and even my 5yr old would get out there and dance with her everyday.😁 pool side Zumba was awesome 👏🏼 And she was always so friendly.
Lupita. Gave us one of the best recommendations to an amazing restaurant called El Panorama for our last night family dinner because we wanted to eat somewhere out side of the resort and when I tell you that the view was exceptional the dinner was amazing the staff was great it was EVERYTHING we wanted all in one. We got to see the sunset the perfect view of puerto Vallarta and a perfect family dinner to end our trip.
Al though not all of the restaurants were open to the full capacity because of covid they made sure we were satisfied and the food was still amazing. At every restaurant on site from the Japanese spot to the seafood location to the Italian food it was all great.
The house cleaning lady I can’t remember her name I think it started with a G older lady but she was so sweet and always checked to make sure we were ok and she also did such a great job daily.
Overall Villa del palmar staff was AMAZING!! I would give more then a 5 star if I could, and I would 100% recommend the stay here.

When we arrived, the check in process took us more than an hour. This was after waiting for about 20 minutes to get to the actual counter. We were given a room in the C building. There is no elevator and we had to walk up 4 flights to get to our room. When we entered, all 5 of us were a bit shocked. The room looked worn and old. The second bedroom was up a flight of very steep stairs and was more of a loft area than a proper bedroom. The worse part was the traffic noise all night long! It was super loud and none of us slept well for 2 nights! I asked for a room change as we would not tolerate the noice and the fact we needed to use steep steps in the middle of the night to help our children.
We got moved to Building 6 and it was great. Room 4460 was so much better of a layout and location. The 2 bedrooms were proper rooms with doors and this room had a washer/dryer which was great to get the saltwater out of our swimsuits! Being in this room made it feel like a different hotel!
The pool was great for our kids, however you need to go down very early to reserve a chair to use. The beach area was packed with chairs and made me feel uncomfortable being so close to others. Happy hour was great as it included smoothies for the kids! Adult beverages were great as well.

I had pretty high expectations for the service and facility after staying at previous Villa Del Palmar locations, but this location has exceeded every one of them.
The main attraction to any resort is the pool and its poolside service, which is where we spent all of our down time, and I couldn't be happier. Miguel and Daniel catered to our every need and were delightful. They were making us laugh, helping encourage Spanish practice, learning our habits and favorites from the menu, and quickly responding to our endless wants and needs. On top of that, Karina would lead activities to keep us active and entertained, especially a daily dance class that our family loved and looked forward to. She was kind, jovial, encouraging, and full of energy, which rubbed off on everyone around her.
The restaurant staff were also especially hospitable and friendly, especially Ernestina who would kindly pay special attention to us each day, making us feel at home and ensuring the food was exactly as we desired.
Overall an excellent trip that went by way too quickly, and since we traveled under unique circumstances with the COVID-19 crisis still very much at large, they ensured we could relax while still keeping sanitary and safe.

Bought our stay through VIPBOOK for a reasonable price. Went to make reservations and they hit us with the all inclusive and a time share presentation we had to attend the morning after we arrived. Not happy, but went with the flow. Arrived on Monday and between checking in and our concierge going over everything it was about 90 minutes. We were put into a room that faced the front of the resort and the traffic noise was a real drag it you wanted to have your patio door open. Had dinner at the Italian restaurant, grill night, and while the food was tasty it was overcooked. The next morning we were bussed to the sister resort where we had a buffet style breakfast and told about the resort and the amenities. We toured the resort, then the hard sell came and we said no. They taxied us back to Villa del Palmar. We stayed till Saturday and ate at all 3 restaurants, honestly very mediocre food with some exceptions; the Mexican restaurant for lunch, ceviche and the fish tacos were great. The evening hour bartender Cesar was muy bueno. Grill night was ok, presentation great but overcooked. Certainly not worth the all inclusive. There are superior places to enjoy north or south of the resort where you can get authentic Mexican food for a great price. I would stay again in a different building and make my own food or go outside of the resort. Dated facility, but clean.

I stayed for two weeks in December. I felt that all resort staff and management took precautions to address and prevent the spread of the Covid virus. The resort was always clean and I felt very safe.
I stayed in a one bedroom unit in building one and had a great ocean, pool view from my large balcony.my unit had a regular fridge, two burner stove top, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, and all the utensils needed. There were pots and pans as well as all the cups, glasses, plates and bowls required for in room cooking and serving. I ordered food at the pool a couple times and it was very good.
The location is within walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, malls, Costco and all other amenities you may want. I was ambitious one day and walked to the Malecon with took about 45 minutes. I’d like to recognize the bell boys Ismail, Joel, and Carlos for being so helpful when required. Pedro at the towel station was always there for a friendly morning chat and to help me with my Spanish. Ana and Patricia, and all the room cleaning staff were welcoming and friendly and were always cleaning the common areas when not attending to their unit cleaning.
Overall a fantastic stay at an intimate resort.

On a recent trip to Mexico in December, we stayed at Villa Del Palmar Flamingos Beach Resort and Spa. Warm greetings and efficient check in as well as the quick orientation by Lio and Paty G. started our vacation off on a great note. Everyone we came in contact with spoke English well.
Due to COVID concerns, masks needed to be worn, temperatures were taken before check in, and hand sanitizer had to be used before we could enter the resort. All employees wore masks. Hand sanitizer was available throughout the resort and on every floor by the elevators. Travel size bottles were placed in the rooms. The rooms were cleaned and sanitized each day. Overall, it was one of the cleanest hotels where I have stayed.
The resort is right on the beach so we needed to choose between the pool or beach. The benefit the pool had was the entertainment staff. They set up times for exercising and games. I was surprised at how competitive people on vacation could be! The same group that provided the pool entertainment also provided additional entertainment in the evening. Mario, Cynthia, and Valerie had us laughing until our sides hurt during the day but amazed us with their singing and dance moves in the evening. Additional entertainers were brought in each evening to supplement the staff.
Also, the pool service is overseen by Regee. He’s quiet and nice but he definitely took care of not just our group but made sure the whole area was operating efficiently. He was the one who made sure everyone had everything needed. Our server at the pool was Conrad. He was there with drinks and menus almost before we asked for it.
Food quality, variety, and service exceeded our expectations. There are quite a few places to eat at the resort which offer a lot of variety and menu options as well as wine pairings. Jose, Carolina, and Xochitlh made sure we were happy with our food, seating, and had everything we needed. All of the servers were respectful, helpful and pleasant.
Upon check out, Adan and Paty were especially helpful in printing out my boarding pass in addition to closing my account.
I would go back there in a heartbeat. Two of the people in my group stayed there in October and were so impressed, they convinced us to go back with them in December. Overall, it was a great experience. One note, although tips were included on our tabs, we did tip extra since it was so much lower than what we would have tipped back in the states. At no point, did we feel service was anything but the best. The staff did seem especially thankful.

Villa Del Palmar Puerto Vallarta’s staff was amazing. Iris, the club manager, was the absolute best. She made sure we had the best of everything while we were there. Georgina, Alex, Roberto, the activities guy (can’t remember his name at the moment), are just a few of the amazing staff that we would like to thank! Our room was cleaned multiple times a day and sweet little treats were left for us every evening. We were skeptical taking this trip right after the resort opened from Covid pandemic, but the staff made sure we had a great time. Thank you and we will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed here March of 2019 for our 20th anniversary and loved it so much we came back with our oldest 3 kids as a graduation gift. The staff is all incredible. They are helpful, friendly, and treat you like family. They got to know that we had some food allergies and were great about helping us get the right meals. They knew we didn't drink alcohol and made sure all our drinks were alcohol free and even let another nice family know when they tried to order drinks for us! Every meal was not only beautiful but tastes amazing. Everyone fron the bell boy, the maids, cooks, waiters, landscapers, pool maintenance, towel check out, activity coordinators, were all so helpful. We felt sad to say adios. I highly recommend this resort. It was clean, comfortable, friendly, and safe. My kids will remember this trip forever.

It is my understanding construction is not starting until May of 2025.
The most-recent information provided to the owners is that renovations have been pushed back (again) until May of 2025. The VDP does not appear to monitor this website, so your question will not be addressed directly by them.
No construction on the Del Palmar side. Tower 3 is untouched.
We paid everything upfront. We booked though Expedia and didn’t owe a penny when we checked out.
