Just got back from a 6-night stay at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa, and my only regret is not staying for longer! Located in the quieter Marina area, this resort is only 10 minutes (or less) from the airport. If you want large crowds, noise and a more chaotic feel--stay closer to the Hotel Zone/Malecon. If you want a perfect balance of activity and relaxation--the Marriott is for you! Staff were all great. However, Carlos at the pool/beach is hands-down the best!!! He single-handedly made our trip even more memorable with his positive vibe and flawless customer service. We would highly consider coming back to this resort just for Carlos--yes, he's THAT good! Food/Drink prices were very reasonable. We did not do the all-inclusive option but were very pleased with the variety of on-site dining/drinking options. There are many great bar/restaurants at the the Marina, which was only a short 5 minute walk. Transportation to/from the Zona Romantica and Malecon was super easy--even late at night. Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool and ocean, which was perfect. Weather was hot/humid, so the powerful AC was nice! Hotel grounds were kept clean and tidy at all times and always felt safe. I had no problem locating, reading and comprehending the safety signage warning patrons about crocodiles. Pool/Beach scene was a perfect blend of activity and chill vibe. It was never too slow or too busy. Anyone complaining about not being able to find chairs/umbrellas should consider waking up before noon.

First of all let me start of with saying the customer service here was excellent. The staff was quick to respond to anything we needed. The rooms were clean and the house keepers were even able to decorate because we were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday. With that being said… as to the crocodile incident. I felt the need to speak up about this because it got back to me in a false narrative and it has gone viral. My boyfriend and I one night had decided to go on a walk down the beach. As we were walking down to the sand area (because you have to go through the pool area first) we ran into a HUGE sign that VERY CLEARLY stated that the water was full of wild life and wild animals were more prone to coming out at night in which it included four specific animals… crocodiles, sharks, stingrays and even jelly fish. Shortly after, a very nice hotel security was explaining to us that it’s safer to stay away from that area at night (keep in mind it was about 11:30 at night and yes I do have videos to prove all of this). He kindly explained to us that sometimes the crocodiles even go into the sand area to rest and that it’s their natural habitat. So, as a result, my boyfriend and I decided to GET OUT OF THE AREA. However, at a distance we saw that a group had decided to ignore his instructions and continued to SPLASH IN THE WATER even though he had just talked to them as well and the water was extremely dark. Shortly after we heard screams. Let me just tell you that everyone involved in that group was extremely rude and frantic. I do understand everyone was panicking, but the rudeness was unnecessary. The ambulance actually arrived within about 15 minutes because that specific area has its own emergency response units. And the last thing so we can get the TRUE story, the same security that had just warned this group to stay out of the water had to go back in the water to get the crocodile to let this girl go risking HIS own life even though he had JUST told them to stay away from the area. So this girl telling people she’s the one that saved herself and that “she wasn’t even in the water” just sounds to me like another entitled person trying to find someone to blame.

Wonderful place to spend a week. All-inclusive package is totally worth it - all food and drinks were included with the exception of 2 or 3 items on each menu. It was also cheap enough that you don’t feel bad if you go off-property for a dinner. The inclusion of the drinks and snacks alone made it worth it for us - and for meals, it included appetizers, main courses, desserts, extras, room service, anything! We did several spa treatments (not included in all-inclusive package) and they were very nice. Best thing about the resort was customer service - Victor by the pool knew our names and drinks every day - outstanding!!! Mostly adults when we were there and we weren’t traveling with kids - but as a parent, I was impressed with their kids splash/play section - very extensive. We were continuing to travel in Mexico so did not make use of the free covid tests, but our friends did and they said it was super easy and convenient.

Hello. First time in PVR, first time at the Marriott PVR. We had a wonderful stay at the Marriott. Our ocean view room was on the small side but had a large balcony and the AC worked very very well. Housekeeping was great. Minibar is very minimal. Does not get refilled daily. Rooms were private. Atrium was beautiful. Never had a wait for elevators. Decor seemed updated. Had a small issue with tiny ants the first night but put sweets away in fridge after that and no other issues. The food was excellent. We had delicious breakfasts daily. One pancake lady was a bit stingy with the pancakes but the other very generous. Mikado was delicious. Hibachi chef was great. Service was excellent. Las casitas was also great. Specialty gourmet Mexican food. Great ocean view. I didn’t care for the stray cats in restaurant. We went with the all inclusive option. We noticed not many other guests did. Food and drink prices were very reasonable if you choose not to do the all inclusive. It includes room service. Do not order American food for room service. That was horrible. But the Mexican food and margaritas through room service were excellent. Wait time usually around 30 mins. Fast, friendly. Pool was nice! Large infinity edge pool. Needs MUSIC. No music, no entertainment. Could use some tunes in that area. The pool bar and restaurant Nosh was great. Drinks were delicious. The shrimp tacos were delicious. It was hit and miss on strength of alcohol in drinks. Could always order them stronger if you prefer. Zero problems finding chairs with shade. We didn’t reserve a cabana but they looked very nice. The beach had lots of chairs but no one used them. Heat and humidity was intense. Sand hot and little shade at beach. Vendors were plentiful but respectful if you were not interested. The water was an ugly brown. We chose not to go in it because it didn’t seem clean or safe. I read several reviews after we returned home talking about a crocodile attack that happened during our stay. We did see the two signs posted talking about jellyfish, stingray and crocodiles. We were surprised by the crocodile warning as I had not read about it before coming to stay at hotel. I am very very sorry about the incident involving the two young ladies being attacked by crocodiles. I am disturbed that guests were not warned or informed about it the next day. I would never even risk it putting feet in water after reading about it. Yellow flags would be a great idea. I read there are other crocodiles in Marina too. One night we went to the beach area and witnessed a sea turtle laying eggs on beach. A man with a lighted helmet was there moving the eggs into a bag. A Karen was there too and rudely warned us not to come close to them or take photos even though she was filming and taking pictures and was extremely close to the turtle along with her many friends. I question where the man left with the eggs. He may have been a poacher. Did not look official and walked right past the rescue nursery with the eggs. I inquired about him at front desk but they did not have any info. We did the Canopy River zip line and Razor combo tour one day. Highly recommend it. Expensive but seemed to be the going rate. Online discount for booking it through web site. It was relatively close taxi ride to pick up point. Ubers were comparable and better quality rides but taxis were convenient too. Went to Malecon one day. Very disappointed. Very touristy. Humidity and heat made it intolerable. Didn’t stay long. Coffee shop and ice cream bar were great places to get quick treats. Check in with front desk went smoothly although staff person was not very friendly. Concierge staff were friendly and helpful. Sometimes had long wait times though. Covid testing was free and a breeze. Overall had a great time. I recommend this hotel with the reservations about beach safety referenced above.

We celebrated my son’s wedding at the Marriott in July 2021. We had 65 people family and friends that attended.I worked with the wedding planner for two and half months Patricia Haro, she was extremely nice and very helpful. She put 💯 percent in making sure everything was to our satisfaction. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with. We spend a lot of time at the pool area. I must say the techno music playing all day was getting on everyone’s nerves wanted to hear more of the Mexican music to get the flavor of being in Mexico. I have stayed at the Rui and Flamingo Del Mar there Music was awesome and they provided so much water activities. The bartenders at the Nosh were not very nice they should be more welcoming, The service at the pool could have been better, I didn’t feel welcomed. I hope the girl that got bit by the crocodile 🐊 is doing well.
