Nestled close to the airport and marina, Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa is lauded for its beautiful atmosphere and pristine cleanliness, with many guests praising the immaculate rooms and attentive service. While the stunning pool and luxurious spa are highlights, travelers appreciate the hotel's safe and convenient location. However, guests warn of noisy events potentially disrupting the peace and point out that the value is lessened by high prices and additional fees. Although the rooms are generally well-received, some mention dated decor and noise issues as drawbacks.

We love staying at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta. When you arrive they welcome you home and that is exactly how it feels. The staff greets you on arrival and takes such good care of you while you are there that you feel like family. We are repeat guests
and love to see the same staff and friends each year. It is a very comfortable, clean, relaxing and beautifully kept resort. Having both the beach and pool is wonderful! There are so many people to thank, we hope that we don't forget anyone!
Thank you to Ernesto Palomero and Simon Coulson in the reception area for our ocean front room and advise on everything Puerto Vallarta; Sylvestre and Victor Alarcon at the pool for daily water aerobics, conversation and refreshments; Carlos Pedroza at Las Castitas for breakfast every morning with our special juice requests and Edgar Gil for awesome dinners at Las Castitas! Other waiters who were so nice to us are Richard, Mauricio, Israel and Fernando.
We also ate at the on-site Mikado restaurant and want to thank Antonio for a wonderful experience. Our room was kept beautifully by Belen Perez and the folks at the Deli Los Mangos should be noted as they were always welcoming and helpful.
We love the Marriott and will continue to stay here each year.

Views were nice but room sizes are not overly large and double beds are a bit small. Stayed at many Marriott’s over the years and have never had a double bed before.
Kids really enjoyed the kids area but the sand around the area makes it tough not to have sand dragged into the pool. Kids area shoes it’s age and needs a refresher. Do away with the sand and put in a more durable soft floor that is used in spray parks.
Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout.
Was a little put off seeing a Marriott envelope in the room for tipping the housekeeper. If people are paying $250 per night and a $20 resort fee I’d expect you could pay your staff fairly.

We just returned from our 7th stay at the PVR Marriott. It becomes more wonderful each time we visit. The staff do make you feel as if you have come home. I don't know all their names but to thank the few that I know; Victor, Warren, Ernesto, Guillermo, Reyna. Everyone is so welcoming, even the cat.

I have one concern that I know is not fixable. It happens everywhere. Which is the "saving" pool chairs. Starting at about 8 am, guests start marking their chairs with towels, shoes, books whatever. These are being saved well into the day before anyone actually sits in them. The other morning about 2/3 of the chairs were saved and I counted only eighteen people sitting in them. I think it is rude. One other problem with the pool chairs is that after the people leave the used towels remain on the chairs. This makes it confusing whether the chair is available or not. I always remove my towels, therefore freeing up the chair. Maybe a towel return should be encouraged.

Everything else is lovely. We will be returning to paradise in Apri.

As elite Bonvoy members we typically only stay at bonvoy properties. This resort is beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous and it is kept in pristine condition. I loved the Mexican charm mixed with a high end feel. If I were reviewing this as a family only resort, my rating would be higher. However as travellers with adult children this property does not offer any location- beach, pool, bar, restaurant or otherwise that is adult reserved. We expected family friendly, however were disappointed that there was not a single place to eat or sit without children beside you. Even dinner at 830 pm we were sat next to families with small children. The pool is vastly large and could be divided better to accommodate,as other guests we met were also feeling frustrated. It’s unfortunate to be at a swim up bar where splashing and kicking Is getting pool water into your drinks constantly. The staff at the front Gate were fantastic at recommending beach clubs we could visit and giving directions so we could experience less of that. The beach at this property was great. Very good for swimming and easy to get a chair. Food and drink quality was absolutely top shelf. Everything we ate and drank was exceptional. The service in the lobby bar was particularly slow and several guests complained that I overheard. In my experience the service was excellent at all the other restaurants and Pool bar. I personally wouldn’t stay here again, however I would recommend it as a family focused only destination for those with kids under the age of 12.

Let me start by saying that I’m a Titanium Elite member with Marriott and used points to come here. My wife and I debated coming to Cabo San Lucas which we’ve been to many times or Puerto Vallarta which we’ve never been to. We settled on coming to PV because we figured we would try a new spot.

I used extra points for an ocean view room, and when we checked in I was given a room on the first floor right next to the elevator with a garden view. This room was very loud, we heard everything at the elevator as if it was in our room. We heard full conversations verbatim. We went back to the front desk and spoke to the woman who checked us in and I said I booked an ocean view room and I used extra points. She then proceeded to lie right to my face, and said that because I booked with points my room is automatically downgraded to a garden view. I travel for work and spend over 115 nights in Marriott hotels a year, and know what she just told me is not true.

I asked to speak with a manager and Daniel came out to speak with me. Daniel was very nice and quickly rectified the situation after I told him my situation. Daniel went back to his office and came back out and moved our room to a more suitable room that I originally booked. So we thanked Daniel for his help to make this right.

Once we got through the check in the rest of our trip was excellent! The food at the Marriott is actually very good for a hotel/resort. They do a nice job for elite members providing a free continental breakfast daily of upgrade to the full buffet for $10.

Not only is the food good but the staff is excellent. Ernesto out by the pool and beach was great he was very attentive, friendly and always happy to see us. Omar who is one of the bartenders is fantastic, he new our favorite drink after the 1st day. Christian at the lobby bar was the reason we would come back to the lobby bar after dinner.

The Marriott is extremely well maintained and very clean. If and when we return to PV we will come to the Marriott.

From the moment we arrived and heard Ramon say "welcome home", we new we were in for a great experience. Daniel Alvarez was at the check-in when we arrived and informed us our room was not ready however it would be worth waiting for. He was correct! We enjoyed lunch at Las Casitas and immediately found a new friend in Carlos our waiter. His recommendations along with his smile and friendly personality made us return multiple times during our stay. When our room was finally ready, we found out we had been upgraded to a room on a high floor, with a spectacular view of the pool and banderas Bay plus a large balcony space. Thank you Marriott Bonvoy. We appreciated our housekeeper Nelida for fulfilling any requests we had plus the nightly turndown service with the Hershey kisses!

The infinity pool is amazing. We reserved a cabana 4 days out of our 10 days stay. The service and the view was worth the additional cost.

We loved the location of the resort being close to the airport. From touchdown to check-in was less than 45 minutes! The quick walk to the marina gave you additional options for lunch or dinner if you did not want to eat on-site. An inexpensive and quick taxi ride provided us the opportunity to explore Puerto Vallarta and different zones.

From sunrise to sunset there was so much to do that 10 days did not seem quite enough... We hope to return to Puerto Vallarta and explore more!

Hotel has recently been renovated and looks lovely, their bar at the pool is fantastic and the pool itself is massive and stunning.

Safety protocols are in place and temperature is checked only upon arrival, sanitizing stations are all around and before high touch surfaces such as elevators, front desk and more. Housekeeping goes to your room every second day to avoid people coming into your room. Staff wore masks and kept safe distance from us all the time.

Food is great at Mikado, choose a Teppan grill for the show, also tostadas at the Nosh pool bar are delicious.

Only observation would be for the staff at “Las Casitas” their masks are not safe, since it’s just a small plastic thing barely covering their noses and mouths, please change those.

This is a wonderful resort and also a great value. This was a second visit for us in 2 years and we loved it even more this time. We ate at Las Casitas, the beachfront restaurant, and at La Cevicheria which were both excellent. Las Casitas serves the best has browns I have ever eaten. The doormen were especially helpful to us when we visited Barrio Bistro in the Versailles neighborhood, making sure of the fare and directions with the cab driver. Ramon and Adrian were also v. helpful. The daily water aerobics class is great and it's good to get some more intensive exercise if you're not an avid swimmer. The whole staff couldn't be nicer. We also enjoy the Marina Vallarta area which is safe and walkable.

We recently stayed at The Marriott Puerto Vallarta. It was our first trip since COVID became horrible in March. This stay was everything we hoped for and more because as one can imagine, we were nervous to take that dive and travel again. We booked our airport transport via Marriott a few days before. Upon arrival someone met us at PVR airport with a sign. It’s important to ignore everyone except what you are supposed to! At the hotel arrival a few moments later we had our bags sprayed ; our temps checked ; our shoes sanitized ; and we were on our way with in a few moments. Our room was an upgrade as my husband is a Marriott Ambassador. We luckily got the Presidential Suite overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. We were allowed to check into the suite within about an hour of arrival. We paid for the all inclusive plan as it was not that much more than our basic room rate and a great deal for all drinks ; meals etc. To sit on a sandy beach with palm trees after all of this time of being home was heavenly. Because there was construction in a part of the hotel , they waived the resort fee for us and we knew that before we committed to this reservation; honesty is EVERYTHING. It was in a small part of the hotel and we were not bothered by it ; we didn’t see it. But it was good to know before going. Ramon was our bellhop. I can not say enough about how gracious this person was. He gave us information on what was open nearby ; kept our bags safe ; delivered them to our room and even checked on us periodically throughout our stay. TO top it off , he shuttled us back to the airport gratis the next day where we were meeting our Mom and getting the Vidanta shuttle. Everyone was fantastic. The room was impeccable; clean ; and maybe a bit dated in parts but lovely. The food was great. We ate at La Cantina for lunch and for dinner. On thé all inclusive plan we could each have 3 courses and for lunch since we had been flying all day with no food and we were hungry we ordered salsa / guacamole/ ceviche , quesadillas and a crudités plate with local veggies sprinkled with Tajin. It was so much food ! We left much of it and it was embarrassing! The margaritas were fresh , tasty and strong! The view from this restaurant is all things Mexico should be and the staff was gracious and lovely. Major props! We honestly should have canceled Vidanta, which we seriously considered and have regrets for not doing so. We had cashed our II week in and Vidanta cost us more than Marriott would have for a week in an amazing suite with the beach ; restaurants and bars open and no one hassling you to purchase anything. Maybe I was just so happy to travel again , I was elated to be anywhere out of my own backyard but this stay was beyond perfect and THAT is why we are Marriott loyalists. 5+stars!

This resort is great for a hassle-free vacation. There are many dining opportunities from lunch by the pool, breakfast in the outdoor restaurant overlooking the marina, to the habachi restaurant and a sports bar. All have reasonable prices. For the amenities that are offered and being right on the beach, this resort allows you to stay away from the hectic pace of the city of you want, or take a short taxi ride to the Malecon or anywhere you want. The resort fee gives you access to an incredible gym and spa area and two bottles of water a day. Beds are comfortable and rooms are clean. We enjoyed being on the first floor for the easy access to the room throughout the day. All of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Remember in Mexico to always ask for the check when you are done eating, they do not want to rush you.

Have often seen kids in the kid's area and pool but never saw many in the building. It may be seasonal and I am sure there is a fee. Just call the hotel.

Sorry if this is too late. The breakfast buffet has about a dozen tables on an outdoor patio, most seating is inside. There is beach service that is the same as pool service. Rarely see many people in the ocean or swimming very far out. There are no lifeguards, you may want to be careful and/or check with the staff at the pool recreation desk.
