I've stayed in MANY different places over the last 4 years I've been going to Puerto Vallarta. This place was very inhospitable to guests that were accompanying me to my room for a short stopover before heading to dinner. Yes, I realize I'm a tourist vacationing in a foreign

The hotel itself has a really great pool area, and a nice view over looking the pier giving access to beautiful sunsets. Having stayed in various hotels in Puerto Vallarta I was really appreciative of a hotel that had amazing water pressure both in the shower and toilet. Some

I recently spent 2 weeks in Puerto Vallarta and once again enjoyed it as it was my fifth time staying at the San Marino Hotel. The hotel has one of the best locations in the Zona Romantica (Old Town) area of Puerto Vallarta right on the beach, close to lots of restaurants,

Fantastic location in the heart of all the nightlife and action of Old Town. Terrific and attentive staff. Food options are buffet-only, but surprisingly good (but some the best restaurants in PV are right around the corner anyway). Upgraded to an oceanview junior suite, room

San Marino is the best hotel I've found in zona romantica near the 'new' pier in Puerto Vallarta. I've stayed on that stretch of beach at least a dozen times. It's the best neighborhood in Puerto Vallarta being close to the Malecon, the Isla, and dozens of restaurants. I had

In regards to upgrading your room - you would have to email or call the hotel directly. The desk clerks speak English...you may be disappointed though as they sell out for that time of year regularly, but they will know for sure. Good Luck! :)

can you smoke at this hotel?
Yes, my husband smokes & he had no problems smoking - but he his also considerate & always ensured there were no kids around. Property right on boardwalk, so getting off property or sitting at beach palapa gives you all the space you need. Coffee served at 7 a.m...breakfast buffet opens @ 8 a.m....plus sooo much else surrounding you for food & drinks ;)
