We spent two weeks at Villa Fa Sol in the Pulpa Room, a jr. Suite. The views were incredible from our room (on the second floor, 48 steps) and everywhere in this truly beautiful hotel. Our room was very comfortable as was our king sized bed. The grounds were gorgeous. Lots of sitting areas with exquisite views. The breakfasts (included,) were delicious. And we so enjoyed Julio and Jordon who served us. We also ate some lunches here. We enjoyed the small pools, the beaches. One for sunning, the other for swimming. Gerardo and his son, Jordon, the managers were great, always helpful and friendly. We love the staff here. We particilarly enjoyed the boat tour of the bays that Jordon set up for us and the archeology museum. The hotel calls cabs which come in about 6 minutes.

Beautiful views, good breakfast, quiet with nice bay in front and nearby. Our corner room had very light curtains (no drapes) with afternoon sun causing it to be VERY bright inside. No potable bottled water in room as with other properties we stayed at. Seemed a bit dated could use a good coat of paint most everywhere.

This was our first but definitely not last visit to Villas Fa-Sol. We have been to Mexican all inclusive hotels many times and on both coasts but this was our first experience at a small boutique hotel and were we impressed! Villas Fa-Sol’s gorgeous website pictures are exactly what we experienced. It is beautiful and has the makings of a wonderful holiday for an adult couple. The view is breathtaking, the room is comfortable (even though the hot water was not always available), it is very quiet, private, and relaxing. The included breakfasts were made fresh with every order and our mid afternoon Margaritas were outstanding and made with freshly squeezed lime juice. The staff were always attentive and warm even though their English language skills were limited. The hotel is a short drive from town ($5 taxi ride); the address was needed for a number of taxi drivers upon our return to the hotel. We enjoyed numerous gourmet meals while in town and there was always someone at the gated hotel to unlock the door regardless of the time of our return. We highly recommend Villas Fa-Sol for a couples holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing visit.

There is a two-level infinity pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Both levels have weighted lounge chairs on the edge, positioned such that you’re just a little bit submerged in the water as you sun. The room I was in had multiple sliding glass doors opening to a wrap around porch, with semi-sheer white curtains — think a sleeping porch, so you can feel the breeze coming off the water and hear the waves crashing but without having too much light in the morning to sleep in a bit. Off the lobby, there is a beautifully appointed library with couple hundred books (it looks like it’s stocked at least in part with things left by guests, but there’s a good variety; it’s the type of place that makes you want to leave a good book for the next person). The free breakfast is great; we sat down on a patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean and they brought us yogurt, granola and fresh fruit before giving us the option of four different mains. Staff was incredibly nice; seems to be family run. Small private beach; great view of the sunset. Lots of beach towels. Bring your own toiletries —they have small bottles of shampoo but not conditioner. There also wasn’t a phone or an alarm clock in my room; I didn’t mind but it seems worth noting for travelers that will have kids/teenagers in separate rooms. Food is only available until 5pm and the menu is limited, but there are great restaurants in town and there’s a real chance you’d never leave the hotel if you didn’t have to leave for dinner. Photos are of views from my room and the patio. Wish I’d taken more of the grounds.

They define boutique hotel. It's family run, very private, the pool is very nice, the rooms either face the ocean or the bay, has a private beach. If you prefer the big resorts with the organized activities and large crowds it's likely not your best choice. If you prefer a quiet, romantic, semi-children centric boutique hotel you'll love it.
