Having returned from Emerald on Monday after spending a week there for our honeymoon, i can't put into words how much we'd love to return! The resort is true paradise on Earth and i can't rate it highly enough. The communal facilities are all exceptional, especially the stunning pool are and restaurants. Our room (a water villa) was everything that we'd hoped for, and the images simply don't do it justice.

The food was fantastic, and we particularly enjoyed the a la carte restaurants. It didn't feel right having a meal that good and then getting up and walking away without having to pay! A small suggestions would be to provide some sort of hand washing bowl when serving the absolutely delicious prawns.

The ladies in the spa were delightful and our couples massage was one of the best that we've ever had. A perfect start to our holiday!

We'd like to give a few individual shoutouts, but i should add that EVERY single member of staff that we encountered were a delight.

Amu (our room host): Super welcoming and always eager to assist. A small issue we had with our room was dealt with exceptionally and within a couple of hours. Thanks go to the Front Office Manager Ra on that one too! Amu really is a credit to your resort.

Joseph (Sommelier): One of the happiest, friendliest and most engaging people that we've ever met. His knowledge and the service he provided really was first class!

Main barman @ Sunset Bar: Excuse us for not getting this gentleman's name, but he really was so charming and a pleasure to meet. His cocktails were exceptional to say the least, and would expect to pay circa £15 each for them in a London bar!

Decided to visit Maldives this summer specially with the COVID our choices were not much, fortunately staying at the Emerald Maldives resort was an excellent choice that made us all wish we did this a long time ago.
When we arrived at Male airport we were met and greeted by personale from the resort who escorted us to the sea plan check-in desk and took care of all the arrangements before transferring us to there special lounge at the sea plane terminal. In less than 30 min we were on the plane to the resort. Arriving some 40 min later we were greeted by the reception staff and a butler was assigned to us, Mr. Igga. He took care of checking us into our two suits and explained all the facilities in the resort, and all through our stay he would take care of almost all our needs and any arrangements that needed to be made during our stay, from booking restaurants, spa appointments, fishing trips ..etc there is no doubt that he was a great help that simply helped us relax and enjoy our stay.
The resort is an all inclusive resort, all restaurants are included in the stay, some need advanced booking, and this was taken care of by Igga our butler. The spa is very nice with different treatments, there is a nice gym with a nearby tennis and racket ball courses and more. All kind of sea activities are available, some like diving and deep sea fishing are for a fee.
The staff are extremely nice. We had the same housekeeping person take care of our room all through our stay, This was very helpful since we could easily arrange with him when to come in for the service, his name was Samir and was a very pleasant man, as well as the minibar replacement man, Ramez, who would pass by everyday to replace the items, and even after that he would attend to anything needed.
The are four restaurants, Acua is an all day restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the others mainly service mainly dinner, and the beach club also serves lunch. We enjoyed all of them.
My kids are between 17 & 24 and they enjoyed the stay very much and were able to do many activities, there is also a kids club for younger children, and there where many families in the resort, it is certainly a family friendly resort, and at the same time would also be very suitable for couples.

If I decide to visit the Maldives again I would certainly consider coming to this resort again

We had the most amazing 10 days in paradise. Without doubt the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in, stunning property, incredible location, wonderful staff, delicious food and unbelievable snorkelling and diving.

Covid-precautions
We were unsure of going away given the pandemic, but shouldn’t have worried and this was the first time we could properly relax in 2020. We were tested upon arrival, as were all guests and regular tests for staff. Temperatures were checked twice daily and recorded, and the standard of cleanliness was exemplary. The breakfast buffet was behind screens and served by staff, so was completely safe, tables were spread out and staff wore masks and were respectful of space.

Amazing staff
No request was too much, and they were all so friendly and courteous. Hassan met us from the seaplane and looked after us the whole week, booking dinner, arranging golf carts to collect us, etc. Aldo the head chef came and spoke to us every day to ensure our needs as vegetarians were perfectly catered for. KD, the food and drinks manager welcomed us at every meal, arranging really special experiences with amazing food and cocktails, romantic meals on the beach and a mind blowing cinema experience. Benny cooked us the most amazing selection of local curries, and saved us some for breakfast with eggs. Areej, along with Latheef and Ratta ensured we were well looked after, our glasses were never empty, and prepared our cocktails as we approached and never let our champagne glasses run dry. Ali made wonderful cocktails and taught us to make them. We’ve eaten at amazing restaurants in London and around the world, and Emerald was up there as Michelin quality.

Rooms and resort
We stayed in the most wonderful water villa. The quality of the furnishings and rooms was immaculate, beautiful attention to details, stunning spacious bathrooms, wonderful terraces with pools, swingbeds and ocean access. And absolutely perfect housekeeping. The restaurants were all uniquely beautiful, as was the spa and bar. Tennis courts with chilled drinks, and wet towels to cool you down - such attention to detail.

Snorkelling and diving
Chika, Matias and Moussa were brilliant. The highlight of our trip was swimming with 40+ manta rays in Hanifaru Bay. Chika organised the trip for us, planning for the optimal chance of seeing them, and it was absolutely breathtaking. My partner was nervous about diving and left the week loving it as Chika was brilliant, patient and took every care to make her feel comfortable at all times. The extra care taken by the TGI dive team during the pandemic was impressive, constantly disinfecting everything, we felt completely safe. We dived and snorkelled with the whole team, seeing multiple Mantas, Turtles, Stingray, Sharks and more - just incredible.

Overall there aren’t enough stars in the sky to rate this resort! We are looking forward to going back as soon as we can.

My husband and I went to 4 total locations for our honeymoon trip and we’re so glad we saved the best for last at Emerald Maldives Resort and Spa. When we arrived to take the seaplane to the resort, it was unfortunate that the weather was too windy and the seaplane (not part of Emerald Maldives) wasn’t performing correctly. We were required to stay a night a Male since it was unsafe to fly. Although we were devastated, especially flying 18 hours to this location from California, the Emerald staff took very good care of us. Since this was out of their control, they did the best they could and had a comfortable lounge with WiFi, snacks and drinks. Since it was getting late they also accommodated us with a room for the night. Although that room in Male did not compare to what we were expecting as our first stay, the next day was a good turn around!

The employees booked us the first flight to the resort and right when we got to the resort, they took us straight to our BEAUTIFUL room. The employees were all there to greet us and provide us drinks as soon as we arrived. The manager himself, Rao greeted us and really showed his sincere apologies of what happened the night before. His priority was for us to have a good time on the island despite what happened and we truly believe he did his best!

We booked the overwater villa and as soon as you reach the areas for all the villas, it’s breathtaking on how beautiful the beach and property looks. As soon as you enter your room, you see the ocean as your backyard! The room was very spacious and it was so great that, if we didn’t feel like going out, we could enjoy the water just from our backyard. You’re able to rent snorkeling gear and snorkel right from your room.

You also get your own personal butler. Ours was Shuaib and he was excellent too. He helped reserved dinner for us, booked us our honeymoon dinner and also the sunset cruise. There was a time where our sunset cruise was around the time of busy departure time so our buggy was a few minutes late. Thankfully Shuaib informed the sunset cruise and also came to pick us up and drop us off directly just in time!

For transportation around the island, you can either walk, use their bikes, or call for a buggy. The drivers were always nice and always greeted you whenever they passed you by. Since it’s been a while for me to ride a bike, the buggy’s passing by were nice enough to stop to the side until I passed. Naffe I believe his name was.. was always very friendly. He even remembered our names and was very attentive. He
saw me and my husband ride the bikes to breakfast and also caught us coming back from breakfast but noticed my husband didn’t have his bike. Unfortunately someone must have taken his bike from mistake so Naffe was nice enough to offer him a ride back to the room. Luckily on the way, they both spotted his bike!

Overall the experience at this resort was a 10 out of 10. All employees were attentive and had great customer service. They really do their best to ensure you enjoy your vacation. This is a beautiful island and resort me and my husband will miss but hope to return to some day!

This resort is so exceptionally great that I wonder where to start to describe it. These were hands down the best 11 days my husband and I have ever had for vacation. We are well traveled people around the world, but this magnificent island in Maldives definitely topped the list of places visited.

It is so vibrantly tropical and beautiful island with crystal clear water and sugar white sand. The beach scene from our water villa was unparalleled beauty that took my breath away from day one. It was incredible to have our own private access to the ocean and be greeted by dolphins and ray fishes in the morning.

Our room was immaculately clean our entire stay (housekeeper cleans it twice a day, stocking the fridge with soft drinks, snacks, beer and wine. I know!). Overall property was so well maintained and taken care of all around the island. We were noticing employees way before dawn (us on the way to see the sunrise) raking the leaves, fluffing the sand along the beach and always smiling telling us good morning. All the points were conveniently accessible by provided to each villa or beach house bike and/or buggy that you could request at any time from any location.
All restaurants were always well prepared, convenient to use with sense of welcoming atmosphere and amazing hospitality. Needless to say, food was not only abundant, but very delicious as well.
The last but not the least... an incredible staff. They all consistently demonstrated an amazing professionalism, warmth, friendliness and ever available assistance. Those are truly wonderful people gracefully demonstrating care and goodness to guests and their own team members. We've never experienced such an outstanding service.

The resort is amazing, literally, no exaggeration. We split our stay in a beach and water villa, (tip water villa gives direct access to the best part of the reef for snorkling) highly recommended to do that. Saajid our villa host was a highlight, nothing too much trouble, patient, thoughtful & engaging. The Villas are amazing, the bathrooms to die for.
We went to all the restaurants, tip is to book in advance on the app as they book up. Aqua the buffet was the best buffet I have ever been too, food freshly cut and prepared - the fruit man, thank you! The staff genuinely wanted you to try their food at every station. Our favourite restaurant for location and atmosphere was the beach grill but we loved the asian (as good as any top London restaurant) and south american too.
We took advantage of all events, managers cocktail drinks, gala dinner, wine tasting at the waters edge at sunset, line fishing (tip you get 1 free trip there is a choice per 7 nights) and the photoshoot. (1 free picture per villa)
They really do mean ''premium'' all inclusive, approx 90 wines included and 4 fabulous sommeliers to help you choose, thank you to all but especially Joseph and Erica. The restaurant manager KD set us a table up on the beach one night, we did not ask for it, it was truly amazing. The Sunset bar staff are great especially Dabba (sorry we might have the name wrong), he just appeared at the perfect times with the perfect cocktail suggestions.
I don't usually splash out on spa treatments but the spa is another level, i ended up with 2 treatments, I could have done more. (tip again you can book a spa session free for the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room) . David at the dive school was excellent, our teenagers completed their qualifying dives with ease, what a place to qualify.
It is hard to only call out certain names because to be honest ALL the staff are amazing.
The only warning and this is not specific to emerald is you are at the mercy of the seaplane company, we were a little distraught at having to wait 4 hours from arrival to take off, (luckily most in a lounge) some of that in immigration. and our flight was 2 hours late departing resort which made for a very hot and bothered dash through the airport on departure but the lovely emerald airport team got us there safely.

Our trip to Emerald was absolutely perfect! From the booking to the arrival to the accommodations during the stay and to the departure was better than we had expected.

We were greeted by Emerald team members at the airport that guided us through the Male airport and to a VIP lounge and then a seaplane. After a 40 minute flight, it was so cool to be welcomed by all the team members when we arrived at the resort via seaplane.

During our stay, we had the honeymoon package which included a bottle of champagne at check in, a complementary excursion, honeymoon massage, and a honeymoon private dinner. Our host, Kumar, ensured that we took advantage of all of the activities by booking our reservations and staying in touch with us everyday via Whatsapp.

We highly recommend the water sports area where we did a private snorkeling trip on jetskis with Misha and Isse. Also, we did the complementary photoshoot session with Fittey and he accommodated us last minute into his busy schedule.

The housekeeping was done twice a day plus a mini fridge restock everyday. Thanks Arie for keeping our room spotless during our trip and for making us a cute animal out of our towels :)

Taking the bikes around the island to get to different activities and restaurants was so fun and beautiful because the island is very green. However, during the evening we requested buggy service to get a ride for quicker transportation around the island. The buggy was at our door usually within 5 minutes.

For breakfast, we ate at Aqua, buffet style, which had a great selection of breakfast foods including omelettes made at the grill and an assortment of pastries. For lunch, we either went to Aqua for the buffet style or to the beach club grill for a la carte dining which included tasty pizzas and burgers! For dinner, we had reservations made to the 3 restaurants on the island, Amazonico, Asiatique, and the beach club grill. On our last day we ordered the Fasmendhoogram, aka floating breakfast in our villa pool which was amazing!

Our honeymoon was amazing here and the team at the resort went above and beyond our expectations. We can't wait to be back!

We visited in March 2021 after doing a thorough research of all the luxury properties in Maldives and it proved to way beyond our expectations. It was the first time for us when the actual resort was much much better than the pictures posted online. We stayed in water pool with villa and it was just amazing and view were simply breathtaking.

Rooms was spacious and bathrooms were bigger than the room and they provided L'Occitane toiletries....:-). Rooms were super clean and very well maintained, services offered was great and they were always willing to go that extra mile that would make a difference.

We are pure vegetarians and trust me, for the first travelling outside country we had absolutely no problems. They had veg options available all day and at every restaurant except for Amazanico which was only for meat lovers. Whenever we wanted to have veg Indian food, Aqua was the go to restaurant. Wines, Champaign's and other liquors were of premium quality. I would like to thank Chef Benny for amazing Indian food, Ahmed and Pawan for refreshing drinks and sommelier Ali for taking care of our taste buds.

A big shout out to out butler Malik who arranged everything and took care of us in all possible ways, Yasir who arranged a nice bubble bath and RK for managing our room services and cleanliness.

Our water villa with pool had a nice sunset view. Near our villa corals were usually dead, we had to go near Aqua for snorkeling where we saw many fishes along with sharks, snorkeling here was a good experience. There was a shortage of beach beds, one usually has to be lucky to get a beach bed.

Want to highlight one slightly bad experience, we were offered different rates when we were willing to buy the pics from the resort and different rates when we asked the prices after we came back.

Overall a very pleasant stay, will definitely want to visit again.

We have just finished a very memorable 2 weeks here at Emerald for my Dad’s 60th birthday and I can honestly say out of all the Maldives islands I have travelled to (this is our 7th) the staff here were the best, every single person who served or helped us throughout our stay were absolutely fantastic and went completely above and beyond. I wish we knew everyone’s names to mention but the ones we did manage to get the names of were Ramesh who cooked us some fantastic food throughout our stay and even went to the trouble of making our group all French Onion soup specially as one of the group had mentioned it was their favourite. The head chef Aldo was also brilliant and always so attentive to anything we requested or feedback we had. All of the sommeliers were fantastic and so helpful. All of the wait staff were exceptional- Nitin is the happiest waiter I think we have ever met, I’ve never seen someone smile so much whilst clearing plates, he was just brilliant to have around and such a great sense of humour, always joking around with the group. Nabee, Camelia, Shakti, Aamie, Poonam, Vaaruna and soooo many more were all so fantastic! Mahid was our room boy and he was brilliant too. Alwin made me pasta at the fresh station every single day and also made fantastic crepes in the morning. KD who was the manager of the restaurant and bars always made sure that everything was absolutely perfect for us, nothing was ever too much trouble.

The band Yeni Con Kche were absolutely brilliant, the best island entertainment we have seen on any island, the lead singer Yeni has a beautiful voice.

Every Monday they have Maldivian night, it’s nice to see the staff having so much fun and super fun for everyone to watch and get involved too. Jailam is a fantastic dancer!

Kumar was our room host and he made sure that every part of our stay here at Emerald ran smoothly, from dinner requests to excursions, nothing was ever too much and he was on hand at any hour during our stay whether it was to change dinner times or rescue any geckos that found themselves in our room! He couldn’t have been more helpful during our stay.

The standard of food was of a very good quality and plenty of choice of restaurants between Asiatique, Amazonico, Aqua and the Beach Club Grill. Aqua is the main restaurant that you get breakfast at everyday and it has a different cuisine each night and on a Thursday they hold a Gala dinner which is fantastic.

The all inclusive was brilliant, my husband is a big wine drinker and the selection of wine was absolutely fantastic, some all inclusive packages can be restrictive but this really did include all your best wines and premium spirits.

The accommodation was beautiful and we had our own private pool looking onto the beach which was beautiful.

Overall the island is fantastic but what really made our holiday was the level of service we received from all of the staff and we would like to thank them all for taking such good care of our large group of 10.

We were planning on a family holiday for a long time to celebrate a milestone birthday and we couldn’t get down to finalizing it as were sceptical due to the looming Covid Global Pandemic and the various restrictions in place as we have 2 minor children who are unvaccinated. Then my brother suggested Emerald Maldives Resort and Spa as he and his family had been there recently. It was perhaps the best decision we ever made. Our stay was simply superb, very memorable and one that we will cherish for years and years to come. We were welcomed into the hotel in true traditional style with the GM and a lot of his colleagues waiting at the Pier to welcome us as our Seaplane landed. It was 2 years since we had travelled (on account of the Covid 19 Pandemic) and we really needed to get away from the city life and being masked all the time. As soon as we stepped into the Resort, we were informed that the guests could roam freely around the Resort without masks, as each and every staff member was masked at all times. This was huge for us and the kids and we were already loving the place 😊. Thereafter, what followed were 4 magical days for us. Our Villa host Faya was incredible and made our stay very comfortable from planning our meals, making reservations for restaurants and activities and giving us daily information. The entire staff (I apologise for not remembering all their names) all over the Resort were so helpful, courteous and humble and went out of their way and beyond their call of duty to make our stay very comfortable and memorable.. Everywhere you went around in the Resort you would find someone wanting to assist or serve you and make you comfortable. Would like to specially thank Head Chef Benny who came to know that my wife had certain food allergies and promptly arranged meals for her which were not part of the buffets or menus just so that she was taken care of. We had booked a 2 Bedroom Beach Villa with a Pool and within minutes of enetering the room and before we could unpack we heard a splash and the kids were in the Pool 😊. They loved each and every minute of this magical break and we thank Team Emerald for making this happen. The rooms were well appointed, luxurious and clean with every modern day amenity within. Housekeeping services were also impeccable with the rooms being done up in the day and again in the evening for the turn down service. The Hotel property was also immaculately maintained and the Property and most of the rooms had stunning views of the sea. We were all sad to leave but such is life. Even on our departure we were give a warm send-off by the GM and his colleagues who waved us goodbye till our Seaplane was off the water. Take a bow guys!! Would definitely visit again someday in the near future.
