My wife and I recently stayed at the Hyatt Place Sarasota Lakewood Ranch. It was an above average experience. We really appreciated the extensive amount of open horizontal surfaces on the furniture in order to accommodate our luggage. There was also a generous amount of counter space in the bathroom, as well as sufficient towel bars and clothes hooks. The latter is all too uncommon. Another nice feature was the window blind, which avoids the nearly universal “curtain gap” in moderately price hotels. Finally, the breakfast was superior to what we expected at this price point.
We did not appreciate the fact that the bathroom had a pocket door. Much worse, from our perspective, was that it is frosted glass, thus making it impossible to leave the light on at night. Of course, this is irrelevant if you are alone in the room. We also had a fair amount of highway noise.

We Loved our stay at Hyatt Place Sarasota Lakewood Ranch, it was Very Clean and loved our room ! It was so close to all , Siesta Key, Anna Marie Island Lido Key , Breakfast was great and so was coffee ! Room was clean and plenty of room for family of 4

Overall, an excellent stay that made me love Hyatt more and more. Here is why: (1) everyone from the front desk to the maintenance guy was friendly. I was asked if the room was ok, people said good morning and goodbye regularly. Whoever is hiring is doing a great job and getting the right people. (2) Room was as expected and housekeeping came daily. So many hotels have skimped here, it is a real differentiator for Hyatt in this price class. (3) When I asked for a late checkout -- my son and I were here for a swim meet, and he wanted to rest a bit before finals -- the front desk staff was extremely generous with the time, no hassle, no extra fees, customer service oriented.

When we arrived we were delighted by the room which had a nice seating area as well as two beds and pleased that our room would be serviced every day as we were staying four days. This did turn out to be a minimum service but better than many hotels seem to be providing at the moment.
However, breakfast did not live up to the lovely room. The first two mornings (weekend) were very busy and there was not enough staff to cope. I saw one young woman who had to clear tables, replenish food and crockery and it was far too much for one person. The second two days weren't busy but there was little improvement in terms of keeping the serving area clean. Plates were returned unclean - I got fed up with trying to find a clean one after inspecting 12. The food was uninteresting. Where was the fruit yogurt, where were the pastries - doughnut holes every day! One day we looked at the breakfast and went out and another I made do with toast (three times through the toaster) and jam.
Members of staff do their best but are obviously expected to do too much. Sometimes if wasn't easy to find someone on reception - I suspect they had other work to do. Unless there is a rate for a room without breakfast I could not recommend this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel twice this year.
The first time we had issues with the room that wasn’t done completely. Sometimes they made the beds and change the towels , sometimes , after we complained they made the beds and vacuumed. We told them that we wanted the room to be done every day as I was asked upon check in. The back door did not lock and we told them. Guess what, still not fixed after 6 months. We had the same issues this time.
Breakfast is just ok, very simple.
Hotel is well located and a variety of restaurants and shops around.

A considerable improvement since the last we stayed here. The room was excellent. Although the heat control did not work, however, it was not cold enough to present any problem. Housekeeping should be commended - the cleanliness of their efforts was absolutely outstanding. There seemed to be far less dogs and traveling sport teams this time around. And the atmosphere seemed much quieter and far was less hallway noise. The shower had outstanding water pressure and water temperature controls reached to a nice hot shower experience. The hotel staff was courteous, professional, and helpful.

We were unaware that housekeeping/maid service was every 3 days, which should have been communicated when we checked in. Our stay was 3 nights. We only cared about fresh towels, which we had to request each time.
The pool area was nice. Breakfast was disappointing after having just stayed at Hyatt in Tampa, which had an impressive spread.
Location was really good; especially being close to Publix Market and restaurants was a huge plus. One drawback to the room was the bathroom pocket door. If not careful, someone could easily smash their fingers; bad for kids.

We were just here for one night on the way back to Tampa and to spend some time in Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch. This location is within 2 minutes of a Publix grocery store (easy walk) and within minutes to the UTC shopping mall and unlimited amounts of shops and restaurants. Its about a 20 minute drive to Sarasota and 30 minutes to Siesta Key Beach.
The hotel appears quite new and is clean and modern. We were quickly checked in and thanked for our loyalty to Hyatt. They also gave us two bottles of water and were genuinely grateful we were staying there.
The room was a typical Hyatt Place setup with a sitting area and king bed. The room was very clean and updated. We stayed in 3 different hotels this trip and this was only one with plugs at the bed which is very much appreciated. We did have an issue with the DirecTv which just kept saying "searching for signal". They told us how to reset it but it never worked. Luckily they have decent Wifi so we just used the iPads.
They had a hot breakfast in the morning with a scrambled egg/french toast bowl, oatmeal, fruit cups and yogurt. Nothing great but its nice they offer something. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Was part of group that came to Sarasota for a business re-union- some of our group live locally and they blocked out a set of rooms for us out of towner’s at this hotel. Check in was smooth and easy, room was clean and of a nice size to be able to relax comfortably in. All the staff was great and friendly, the bartender was great as each night after dinner we would all meet and have a nightcap. The complimentary breakfast was good, the food that was supposed to be hot was hot, and the food that was to be cold was cold- not easy to get at a lot of hotel breakfast buffets. Very happy with my hotel experience as it was the icing on the cake to a wonderful weekend

My husband and I travel to the Parrish area often & this hotel is our go-to place to stay. We know the staff is friendly, we know there will always be hot, fresh, coffee in the lobby every morning, we know the complimentary breakfast will exceed our expectations and that our room will be spotless & fresh with a comfy mattress & pillows. I don’t know. We were there in October.
Hi. There are no microwaves in the rooms. I don't know if it can be requested or not. Best to call hotel directly to be sure.
There are no age requirements....children and pets are welcome here....this hotel is pet and family friendly.....its right off I-75 and convenient for travelers.....lots of restaurants for families traveling in this area......
I don't recall that it had a fridge.
Sarasota/Bradenton Airport is closest but necessarily the cheapest.
