Detailed Reviews
Once I was there due to a work assignment in the close by raffinery.
The hotel itself is alright if you do not want more than sleep there. The internet reliability and speed is sub standard. The breakfast buffet and the restaurant is great. If the weather allows it you will have a beautiful view into the fjord.

First of all youâll get a warm room, friendly staff and great food albeit a little limited and repetitive.
The hotel itself will speak volumes for why renovations are required. Worn carpets in restaurant and it just points to being a little neglected at a higher level. Staff obviously have kept it running through hard work. Maybe the owner should invest as itâs obvious they havenât recently.

Walking to my room felt like it was a borstal, rows of doors and not much to please the eye, the hotel was empty, my room was the spitting image of a trailer ferry i took to Gothenburg, down to the twin bunks bathroom and all, different view and a tv (poor channel selection), food was good in the restaurant but completely empty, all in all pretty poor value for 100 quid even for Norway.

Stayed at the Westland for business. Recommended by a colleague. The hotel is comfortable but a little old/worn around the edges. I was in a double room. For my taste the bed was a little too soft and so where the pillows. A nice touch is the heated floor in the bathroom and the bath itself was huge with a good shower with plenty pressure/hotel water. The meals are edible but not very exciting, no change to either the breakfast or restaurant menu on any of the three days I stayed, plus the restaurant only had about 8 or nine main meal choices. The staff are friendly and the communal areas are clean and well presented. The hotel has a bar onsite, however it is only open Friday and Saturday night (which was great as I wasn't disturbed every night by loud music from the dj) But the mini bar is reasonable stocked with wine, beer and soft drinks and is priced cheaper than the bar, which is a nice change. on the whole I would use this hotel again, but only for business purposes as it has excellent Wi-Fi speed which is included in the price of your room.

Stayed here for three nights whilst working. Hotel staff were really nice, girl on reception when I arrived was very helpful regarding facilities etc.
I was in a budget single room and although the room was about the same size as a ship cabin it was just fine :) comfy bed great view and very quiet. The room was very basic, which to be fair doesn't bother me when you just need a place to sleep.
The breakfast is basic but nice enough, nothing to be amazed about. Food in the restaurant very nice. Overall the hotel is ok, bit tired but far from awful.

Stayed here for almost two weeks due to work. The room I got was worn, but in ok condition. Beds are nice, the food is good. The TV in the room is outdated. Internet is fast enough to stream netflix etc.

The hotel is old, worn and very basic. But there are not many alternatives in the area, and visitors to the nearby refinery who doesn't want to drive all the way from Bergen often stay here.
I got a twin for the price of a single, since there were vacancies. The room was spacious, but worn. Tiled bathroom with bathtub and shower, but the shower head did not work properly. An ancient TV-set, a small sitting area, a desk, a mini bar and two standard size bed. The beds were comfortable, which is the most important thing in a hotel
The hotel offers free WiFi, but I did not get it to work.
The breakfast buffet was OK, not more. But the restaurant (open until 10 PM) was excellent! The waitress was very knowledgeable. Great menu, great food and a decent wine menu.

"if you are staying the weekend, try and get a room as far from the bar as possible to reduce noise disruption. The underfloor heating in the bathroom is controlled from a console next to light switches. Don't confuse it with the room heating like I did, ouch!! toasted feet."Read full review
