We first visited Orasay Inn in 2007 and have visited each year since then; in some years twice. In the period between 2007 and 2018 Orasay Inn has had many changes but Isobel`s and Alan`s warm welcome and the wonderful food have not changed.

We booked a table on Sat 8th September expecting a real treat due to 3 previous marvellous meals here. Unfortunately we were disappointed as the food gave the impression of being reheated rather than freshly cooked. The cod was grey and tasteless with a pot of glutinous sauce

Response from orasayinn, Owner at Orasay Inn

We are really disappointed that you did not enjoy your meal. I can assure you that all our a la carte meals are freshly made to order and not reheated. It is unusual that cod should be tasteless especially when fresh and the sauce as always was made with fresh crab. It is unfortunate that you did not raise these points when you were asked, during your main course if everything was alright. The langoustines were from the same batch used for 2 other paellas and 3 seafood platters on the same night, with no concerns raised. The strawberry coulis is made in batches and checked in the morning, every day, along with the other fridge contents but it is a fact that fruit does ferment and that batch must have slipped by. We do wish that you had informed us of your disappointment when you were asked, when paying, if you had enjoyed your meal. We would be happy to welcome you back but I have to say that it will, almost certainly, be the same chef responsible for preparing all your previous meals who will be here. Please feel free to refer to your latest experience and we will try to ensure that you leave satisfied.

We recently spent the night at The Orasay Inn while in the middle of walking The Hebridean Way and we couldn't have asked for a better oasis of calm! The owners welcomed us and our two dogs, even giving us some dogfood as we were running low. (and scissors, needles, etc to help

Hi Sally Sorry - I'm not the owner - was merely visiting while on holiday. We stayed at the lochmaddy hotel which I would not recommend. We had dinner at the orasay and it was beautiful - seafood so fresh and great service. Unfortunately we didnt stay here - wish we had ! I would contact them direct. Enjoy your trip!
