That's right.....a real gem in the heart of Groot-Brakrivier along the Southern Cape coast. In fact, one of the first dwellings in this little town. We were booked for two nights and we stayed in the safari tent ( there is also a more luxury version).

Everything was to our liking, you name it! I need to commend the staff who were on duty that weekend- highly professional and extremely helpful. We are used to camping so we enjoyed our private outdoor lapa and we had a "braai" ( South African version of barbeque) of course.

Do yourself a favour and visit Wolwedans next time you are in the vicinity......

My brother annually rides the Attakwas Mountain Bike marathon from Oudtshoorn to Great Brak. The last two years we decided to stay over at Wolwedans after race day. Wolwedans is just across the street from the end venue of the race, making it a very convenient stay over. We so enjoyed the stay over in the loft at Wolwedans last year, that we decided to do take two this year. And we will definitely be back next year. After a long day on the bike and for supporters waiting at water points we were given a hearty welcome by our friendly hosts and helped to settle in. The loft was cosy especially as it rained the night we last stayed over. Everything was clean and tidy. On Sunday morning we enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast before our departure.

We needed a place to stay that was central and this establishment fit the bill. First we had two nights up at the top back 'tent' cottage (on left) with private braai area) which was like a 'glamping' experience and offered nice privacy. The amount of birds we heard was amazing. At night it got pretty chilly but the electric blanket really helped with this. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. On the second night we closed the tent windows earlier and the place was much cosier. I can see that in summer mosquitos will be an issue here (if you leave the door open... the windows have screening), but the room did come with a anti mozzie plug. The first night was a bit noisy (noise from the road and people walking by and a woman walking her dogs on the road behind/above), as it seems being higher up the sound from the street down below travels up. We requested a two plate gas stove for extra cooking at the braai area (not undercover) which allowed us to also do some cooking. Initially there were some communication problems between ourselves and the staff but nothing serious and overall the staff were wonderful. We then came back to spend two nights in the main manor guesthouse (we stayed in the room called Violet). The room was very comfortable and super quiet...we were extremely happy there. Marichen made us the most delicious omelette using freerange eggs (pre-ordered one morning) served with a starter of yoghurt, musli and fruit. We met the owners on our second visit and they were so lovely. We requested if our disabled dad can visit us for a braai at the pool braai area and they were happy to oblige, providing a 'braai' kit, and even let us make use of the little 'tavern' area upstairs for whatever extra kitchen goodies we needed and for washing up. All and all we had a wonderful stay and will be back.

Wolwedans was welcoming when we arrived in Grootbrak which we had not been to before.
The room was at the top of some steep stairs with a tiny door to the room and once you were in the room was big with four beds in it and a bathroom at the far end of the front door. There was a kitchen opposite the room which was for self catering if you wanted to do your own catering. The stairs were not convenient for older people but no problem for younger people. The gardener did carry my case up to our room which was a pleasure. I must say they did offer us a cottage in the back garden but it was more expensive that what we had booked. It was lovely driving around Grootbrak and we also drove around Littlebrak in the afternoon. We did not cater for ourselves and had dinner nearby and in the morning had breakfast at Wolwedans. This house is a heritage house.
All in all it was a pleasant experience.

Excellent Service will recommend the Accommodation to anybody. Personnel friendly helpful. Everything is clean and the location was ideal for our family. Because of visiting family as well as a marriage ceremony at Seeplaas this location was ideal for us and to access the accommodation at any time with our on remote was perfect for us.

This is a truly delightful place, which made our one night stay really enjoyable. My friend and I stayed in the quadruple room as it has single beds. This room is up a steepish flight of outside stairs and has a hobbit size door, so you will need to duck to get in. Perfectly furnished for a comfortable stay, and the kitchen area had everything you need for some basic food preparation. It was too cold for the pool, but it looked inviting. I highly recommend this quaint spot.

We loved the property, knowing the historical value, yet renovated and taken care of so well. We were in the attic room, very unique with roof windows to see the clouds. The adjacent kitchen and living area was also well equipped. Only slight disadvantage is that it is not so easy to walk in all parts of the room, being the attic.

We had the pleasure of staying at Wolwedans for just over 2 weeks in December as a family. The cottage was newly renovated and everything was clean and new. The owners and staff were very friendly and always helpful.
Although in busy part of Groot Brak the cottage and tents were nice and private and we found the stay very relaxing.

Really good price for what you get. Allowed us to arrive very late in the night. Great braai and cooking facilities. Even has room service in the morning which we weren't expecting. Very peaceful location

Our family enjoyed their stay. The owners were very accommodating.
It was a peaceful and friendly environment. Beautiful garden and surroundings.
The only downside was that the rooms were not cleaned. e.g. emptied bins and replaced clean towels.
Otherwise overall and good get away.
