My family and I spent one night here before moving on to St. John. After hours of traveling I just wanted to get somewhere and relax. Bunker 'HILL' will make you work for it. Don't expect any elevators at this place. ALL stairs. Lunging 50+lb suit upstairs is not what I call a vacation. Thank good some good Samaritans assisted because the hotel had no help for us that evening. The room was Old dare not look under what my daughter called "well slept" mattress's and pillow white sheets. 😂 The food in restaurant that night was good enough. Don't think about ordering anything extra on the complimentary breakfast the next day. Probably won't stay here again. But the gentleman reception the next morning was very helpful with finding us a boat and rental 🚗 hookup.

We had a great stay at Bunker Hill. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property is in a good location close to shops, sights like 99steps, and restaurants. Our room was nice and spacious with air conditioning, a mini fridge, and a large balcony overlooking the pool and ocean. Unfortunately the balcony door had seen better days and was extremely difficult to open and close. We had to leave it open while sitting on the balcony or we would have gotten stuck outside. My boyfriend also cut his finger on the broken balcony door handle. Breakfast was amazing! We were seated overlooking the beautiful hillside and had ocean views each morning with our complementary breakfast served by the friendliest staff! Breakfast options includes the two-egg breakfast with toast and your choice of bacon or turkey sausage, pancakes with your choice of meat, and a bagel and cream cheese. They also had a juice of the day and coffee. We were able to use beach towels from the office when visiting a local beach for the day. They were also able to call a taxi when we needed and had great tips for touring different parts of the island. They also have a restaurant onsite called the Sugarcane Grill. They had great food, service and views. Bunker Hill is a great affordable hotel if you plan to stay in Charlotte Amalie.

I took a chance thinking this would be a nice little local place to stay, but it’s really bad. Just run down and dirty. Here are some examples: bathroom ceiling was just old painted plywood, bathroom door was water damaged and splintered, fixtures rusting, showere head broken and spraying water against the ceiling, ac sounded like a jet engine, outlet had no face cover, room was overall dirty with smashed bugs on the floor and wall. I do not know in what universe this would qualify as a 3 star hotel. We did have several nice locals stop us and apologize for the state of the neighborhood after the hurricanes. Many businesses appear to have closed and there is quite a bit of trash and debris on the side streets.

There are a great bunch of people working at the Bunker Hill. We just stayed for four nights and everyone is over the top nice. The girls that do the free breakfast as so kind and friendly. One standout individual was Thomas, who works the front desk, does security and also is the onsite IT specialist. He went out of his way to help in every way. Even when our flight was cancelled and no one could find a hotel, he found us a room! This guy is amazing, found us taxi's and would call us to check to make sure we got picked up, even at 6am. He needs to be recognized by the owners at Bunker Hill and I hope they read this review. One item to note is the rooms are relatively clean but they have wear and tear on them. You have to remember this is the islands. Very good locations as well and can walk to shops and restaurants. Casey Consumer Marine Supply
