After the pandemic and being in lock down for so long, I needed a mini-vacation. This was our 4th time at Emerald Beach. The rooms are affordable and it is close to the airport. The water is gorgeous along with beautiful sunsets and sunrises. I knew exactly what we were paying for, and I did my research prior to going. Yes, the reviews are true. We had a faulty air conditioner and safe issue, but you can't expect to pay 247.00 a night, and get top-shelf service. The people were friendly and they are trying their best. Even after a week, I could see the effort being put into the place. They got hit with the fallout of Covid, and it is not easy to get the staff needed during these times. The beach needs to be cleaned everyday. There was a lot of garbage, but I made sure to clean up my mess, The restaurant did take time, but the food was excellent. You cannot find better bartenders. Those guys hustled every day, all day, all night. We can see the decline in the past few years, but I did see rooms being renovated, and the grounds were being taken care of. I believe they are trying to bring it to a better place, but for now, enjoy the beach. Our arrival and departure via St. Thomas airport was smooth, no problems. If you are looking for an easy affordable getaway, than I would go here. Just keep an open mind. I will definitely go back, roosters and all! We stayed in Room 204, and had hot water and besides the one issue with the AC, it was working fine after that. Good Luck!

We were given a room on the top floor and had to get our luggage up 3 sets of stairs with no offer of help or being asked if it would be a problem. The remote was missing, the phone didn’t work and we had to unplug the noisy clock. When I talked to the manger I was told it was my responsibility to request a lower room. If I had known there was no elevator I would have. My husband had a recent surgery so stairs with luggage was a problem. I will tell my medical conditions from now on when checking in. The manager was not helpful or concerned over my distress

Awesome location because it’s directly on the beach and the views are awesome! Staff is great and the restaurants have tasty options! The rooms are average and very basic but the location makes up for it!

The worst hotel I ever went too. I don’t recommend this hotel to no one. This is the second time I stay at the hotel and the room had water problems. Then on top of that in some of the rooms there’s no hot water!

Room not very clean. The top lock on main door is broken. Returned one day to find the main door handle and lock screws where unscrewed. No battery in smoke detector. No light bulb in lamp. Left $20.00 and a note asking if we can get a tv remote that works. They house keeper took the remote and left us with nothing. Took the remote to the front desk. The person at the front desk asked me to see what brand TV we had and call her with that info. Then the phone did NOT work! The sliding door is very hard to open and close. We had housing keeping be rude with us because we weren't out of the room one day when she came to clean. She said we should have had the do not disturb sign out. We did NOT have one. Sheesh! We waited 40 plus minutes for a cup of coffee at the restaurant. We had the lobster dinner one night-it was bad, over cooked, came with a "side of veggies" which was 3 small carrots.
