This is a warning to all , DO NOT STAY HERE , DO NOT EAT HERE . Steve and Shem are now the Operations Manager and they DO NOT KNOW what they are doing. There is Mold is the rooms, that they say they are treating with us lights? The roaches are out of hand. Rooms are filled with rust. Food at the restaurant on site is HORRIBLE. They had there son and son’s friend whom NEITHER has a health card was in the kitchen making food, because all the kitchen staff quit. STAY some place else, this is not the ideal spot for a vacation.

I selected The Palms at Pelican Cove because I thought it would provide the relaxing atmosphere I required. Let me report that the photos on the website actually don't do the reality justice. The beach views are exquisite. The actual beach was fine (keep in mind that there is quite a bit of seaweed in certain areas) Service, staff, room and amenities were fine. 1. Public Facilities: The facilities were wonderful. The lobby and front desk are small and the staffer manning it was new (as many of the staff were as there was a change management just two weeks prior). Signs are posted the make sure you're wearing your masks - per CoVid-19 guidelines. There were also signs indicating that this was an 'Adults Only location'. Check in was easy and accurate. The rooms are in separate buildings sprinkled along the property. The grounds were well kept, not immaculate, but clearly manicured. There's parking right at the buildings. You do not feel crowded at any point on the property. There is a very nice pool off the restaurant/bar area. It was always clean and not overly chlorinated. Beach towels are provided upon request. They provide both kayaks and snorkeling equipment free of charge and many guests took advantage (there was always someone on the beach or in the ocean). 2. Private Facilities & Quarters The room (a single king sized bed) had a full sea-view with a patio and lounge chairs. The bathroom was medium sized with a nice shower. The AC unit was quiet and worked well, despite evidence of aging. There were no phones in the rooms, but the other fixtures and furniture fit the décor and were not bargain basement buys. The bed and linen were fresh, soft and of good quality. The cleaning person makes constant rounds (though do not expect any turn down service.) The use of blue-tooth keys cards required multiple swipes - but did work. There was a standard in closet safe, but it was not operational - an issue I was told is on the new management's list. The television was the standard sized 42" and well placed with a remote that was sanitized and bagged. Per standards - no smoking was permitted in the room. 2. Staff The small staff quickly learned who we were and were folksy and pleasant, we always felt welcomed and appreciated. 3. Services Room service does not exist (especially given the lack of phones). The 'gift shop' is a small closet-sized room next to check-in that had treats, snacks and drinks - prices were surprisingly fair. 4. Location The location is in Christiansted. I highly recommend you rent a car or jeep (if you plan to be more adventurous) as public transportation is essentially non-existent and cabs will be become very expensive very quickly. On-sight Restaurant/Bar: This was a bit of a surprise. They have theme nights and activities such as BINGO, etc. It became clear that there are very good items on the menu and that non-guests frequented. The Black & White Tuna was especially well-plated and delicious. Breakfast was also quite fine here.

We came here twice for carry out and waited at the bar for our order to be prepared. At the bar, we had drinks prepared by Yadi who is the top bartender in St. Croix IMHO. Ask her for a painkiller. You won’t be disappointed. Plus she is a charmer. Tip her well.

We had an excellent experience at the Palms. The rooms were so close to the ocean it would rock you to sleep at night. The staff was friendly, and the owners were on site daily helping staff and guests, this was an amazing get away from the "cookie cuter" all exclusives. If you are looking for a quiet, easy get away!! I highly recommend the Palms

We’ve been all over the island this week and must say this place has the best views. The beach is so close to the bar/restaurant and the pool. We stayed at the condos and they were great. BUT please note that everything is really short handed so to get into restaurants takes time and patience. Even at the Palms restaurant we had to leave after about 30 minutes of no service. So just stock up on food and what you need and then consider it “gravy” if you get into restaurants and get served. We finally ordered take out from the Chicken Shack last night (about 10 minutes from here) and it was amazing. Take out from Paradise Pizza was awesome too. Missing a lot of great seafood. When we were here last you could get grouper, red fish, snapper and flounder. Now it’s a lot of pizza, hamburgers, etc. just know before you come. Also the beach in front of the condos and hotel is unswimmable due to rocks but in front of the restaurant (which is just a 5 minute walk) is great. Some great snorkeling too. There is a great place where you can order some snorkeling gear (that’s basically new) and they’ll deliver it to you. Some highlights were Buck Island and the bioluminescent kayak tour. Fredericksted was pretty dead and a lot of the island reminded us of Haiti. Bucanner beach was pretty nice but crowded and food was really expensive. Cramer Beach is kind of hidden but worth it. Got some great food at Rythms on Rainbow beach but again crowded.
