An amazing stay and experience - the staff were great, the rooms were beautiful and the restaurant was fantastic. A truly unique experience and a gorgeous setting. Would recommend staying here or (at the very least) visiting the restaurant. We had a private dining experience by the pool which was really special.

We stayed at Hotel Chocolat for 4 nights over Christmas Day. The Hotel is even better then we expected. We got upgraded to a Luxe Lodge which had the most spectacular views, extremely comfy bed, HUGE bathroom and one of my favourite showers ever! There are also really thoughtful little touches everywhere which we really appreciated (especially the yummy cookies & truffles!) We loved having the private guests area with the stunning infinity pool. The snacks and honesty bar are a really good idea and the area was alway quiet and not to busy!

The staff are all incredibly helpful, friendly, extremely knowledgable and every service we had was flawless. From, Front of house staff, waiters/waitresses, room maids etc, everyone I met made us feel very welcome!
Two to mention is Chrys the Barman who we spoke to for some time who also made us some fabulous drinks and was incredibly friendly, we very much enjoyed meeting him & a young man who unfortunately I didn't catch his name but I don't think i saw him not smiley and bouncing around even when he came in very early for the breakfast shift after finishing the dinner shift the night before over Christmas day etc!

The food is THE BEST on the island. We had a few lunches and Dinners over the time we were there and at the same price as the other resorts it is above and beyond all the others we ate at by a long way! Although it is expensive you really do get what you pay for in terms of cooking, quality & service. (And the portion sizes are still really good.. unlike some really expensive places where you get tiny sizes)! This also goes for the cocktails, they were creative, delicious and one of a kind!

We did the Tree to Bar Tours on the Rabot estate. Hotel guests get this at a severe discount to the Public which is a nice touch and we learnt loads about chocolate and really enjoyed making our own! It was yum! Highly recommend while staying there!
I went on a long walk one afternoon through the estate which is vast and beautiful, Cocao trees and other fruit trees everywhere, Big nature trail also had a beautiful view at the end. I felt very safe and at ease walking around it on my own.

We LOVED every minute of our stay at Boucan by Hotel Chocolat. We cannot recommend staying here enough.

On a side note: For those that do not like Wildlife, Birds, Lizards, Bats, Insects etc to do some research. Like most places we stayed in across St Lucia (we stayed in 5 places) there are usually only 3 walls with one side being completely open. Wildlife comes and goes as they please. We personally loved this and got some really great photos of all the beautiful Caribbean Creatures!

I stayed at Hotel Chocolat at the end of my honeymoon for 4 nights - what a great decision that was! From the moment we arrived we were really looked after, the staff (especially Judy) were all so friendly, helpful & attentive.

Our room was lovely, complimentary cookies, banana chips & other nibbles were there everyday - plus a nice bottle of rose to congratulate us on our wedding. Comfy bed, good shower, sofa & decent sized wardrobe.

The pool is absolutely stunning, the complimentary snack bar & the honest bar were such lovely touches. We also ate in the restaurant for 2 nights & both experiences were incredible! Breakfast also came complimentary with our stay which was brilliant, fresh & tasty food which I still day-dream about months later :)

Although at first the thought of being so intertwined with nature scared me, it ended up being one of the most amazing experiences of my life! Thank you all at Hotel Chocolat :)

We used the hotel’s airport transfer upon arrival. A great start to our holiday with refreshing cold towels and a few drinks onboard. Arriving at the hotel staff were very helpful with our bags, the checking in process was straightforward with more complimentary drinks at reception. The resort was very COVID secure without being intrusive or affecting the quality of our stay.
Breakfast was fantastic with a fresh fruit platter and a smoothie being served while you browsed the menu. Taking in the views along with a coffee in the morning was idilic!
We only ate lunch on site twice as we were on excursions most days (good quality packed lunches were provided) again the quality of the food was great.
The evening dining experience was exceptional, the staff were amazing and the food was the best we had on the island. Combined with the location and the open air restaurant it made for a unique experience that we will always remember.
We found our lodge to be immaculate, the bed was comfortable and I loved the shower! The grounds in general were very tidy, they are a credit to the grounds keeping team who must take real pride in their work.
The excursions are easy to book and very well run. The piton climb was great, if not a little exhausting in the heat! I found the bean to bar experience very informative and I have a new appreciation of good chocolate after attempting to make my own! We did both the snorkelling trip and the sunset cruise. We got an extra surprise of spotting dolphins on the snorkelling trip and even tho we didn’t have a nice sunset on our evening cruise it was still a fantastic evening in the boat.
All in all we would highly recommend staying at the Rabot by hotel chocolate. We stayed for five nights and were sad to leave.

My husband and I stayed here for the first part of our honeymoon and the views from the hotel restaurant were absolutely stunning, breathtaking, picturesque, instagrammable. It is very quiet and peaceful here with only adults allowed as guests. It feels like a romantic spot ideal for couples for sure.

Some things to note: The pool is on the smaller side and rather intimate, given the smaller boutique nature of the hotel. All rooms have windows that don't fully seal, so you'll experience the outside weather some and hear the noises of the local bird and insect populations. That means you might wake up earlier than you might intend and you might always experience some level of humidity in your room.

The showers are well situated to both be private and give you the feel of an outdoor, shower in the sun. I personally loved the shower!

The food at the restaurant is very decent but rather on the pricy side. I would recommend setting outside the restaurant to experience some local restaurants rather than having every meal here.

Overall, highly professional staff, luxury feel, boutique hotel vibes, but a bit on the pricey side.

We spent two nights at this hotel and found the luxury room to be excellent with everything you need including an open air bedroom and shower. The restaurant has a chocolate theme for obvious reasons and so would appeal to chocoholics ! The staff were mainly friendly but not as well trained as we have experienced elsewhere on St Lucia. Our one disappointment was the arrival process when arriving by taxi as we had to carry our bags up several stairs to the reception desk. This could be improved by collecting bags as you arrive as seems to be dine in other hotels. They were however duly delivered to our room. There is a nice tranquil feel to the hotel even though the restaurant is open to non residents.

Views of Petit Piton are amazing and pool area is lovely but you are paying for that in the room rate plus it is not total tranquility as you can hear the busy road from the lodges. I didn’t mind it being loud at night with the insects as I expected it for the location. The Wi-Fi is so annoying you can’t consistently connect it is forever dropping out.

They completely missed the mark with New Year’s Eve it simply turned into a staff party. Rushed out the dinner service so the staff could turn the restaurant into a dance floor for themselves. Completely oblivious to the fact that it made most of the guests leave and go to their rooms and it was hardly a boutique hotel vibe. Apparently only 10 guests even stuck around until midnight.

At every opportunity this hotel wants to rip you off which just leaves a sour taste in your mouth. The tour to climb the pitons is $120 so they add a $70 US surcharge on for them to book it for you. The cost of the guide and entry to the national park is only $50 US.
Breakfast is included in the room rate so packing up a breakfast picnic and providing you with a bottle of water shouldn’t justify such a large surcharge and the taxi is just 15 mins to get there. I wouldn’t recommend booking trips through them as a result, if you do some research most tour companies will include hotel transfers. They use an outrageously expensive taxi company so would recommend sourcing your own taxis to avoid being ripped off.

Covid testing in order to travel home is charged here despite it being complementary in all other luxury hotels throughout the island again another opportunity to charge more. It is misleading in their advertising that they offer a beach shuttle service but it isn’t available - they can book you a taxi to the beach but again it’s $50.

You wouldn’t want to stay here for more than 3 days as the chocolate theme becomes tiring and novelty of cacao nibs in every meal does wear off. Quality of food is good but is expected for level of hotel. Some of the combinations are really random and service is so so slow for lunch, be prepared to wait about an hour for 2 salads. The staff in the restaurant don’t appear to be particularly happy so not that bothered about the service. We ordered mains and it took 55 minutes for them to arrive despite there only being 3 tables in the restaurant. They seem care more about getting external visitors to visit for tours and the restaurant more than they care about hotel guests. No real comfortable bar area for sitting in the evening just some bar stalls and one sofa that they use for hotel check in.

Soufriere is beautiful, I just wish we had booked to stay in Ladera as we went for dinner and it was absolutely delicious!

My entire stay at Rabot by Hotel Chocolat was magical. The stay was warm, welcoming, helpful and ever present. They accommodated everything from making my birthday extra special to organizing excursions for me and my boyfriend. The food at the estate was spectacular and tasty (we literally tried everything on the menu). The rooms were individual bungalows that were both romantic and safely distanced from other guests. Moreover, the views from our hotel room and the pool looked onto the small piton, which is an indescribably beautiful landscape. All in all, I would highly recommend anyone looking to travel to St Lucia to stay at Rabot by Hotel Chocolat.

As a group of 6 and after all booking bean to bar at £80 each we were a little let down by the refusal to use any of the facilities whilst we waited 2 and a half hours for a meal we had all booked with them too. We all had a 3 course meal so bill was high which we didn’t mind but it would have been nice if they would have allowed us to sit at least on the sun loungers whilst waiting for our booking time. Other than that a nice place to eat and experience worth doing

We stayed at both Ladera and Hotel Chocolat during our trip in May 2021 (during the pandemic). We loved both experiences and the views from both resorts were just incredible but I have to say, Hotel Chocolat had a slight edge over Ladera with customer service. We were treated like royalty at Hotel Chocolat and our stay was nothing short of magical. Everyone knew our names and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate every single request we had, regardless of how over the top it was. They had gluten free bread at the restaurant too which was an added bonus. When we arrived, they had upgraded our rooms and preemptively gave us daily compensation for construction that was going on (which we never heard so it was never a bother for us). They added so many little touches that made the experience so wonderful, like delicious little complementary treats in the room and in the refrigerator. My only complaint is that I got destroyed by mosquitos one night in the room. I love that the room is open to the wild, the temperature was perfect (and I'm usually a hot sleeper) and the sound of nature in background gave me and my husband the best sleep of our lives. But the mosquitos were a problem since I am prone to bad mosquito bites and they seem to love me. This was a risk I was willing to take going to St. Lucia, it's unavoidable and by no means the fault of the resort. But they do have great mosquito nets over the bed and the housekeeping staff sprays insect repellent in the rooms daily which was great. They provide bug spray but nothing with deet in it so if you are prone to mosquito bites, pack some deet. The only thing I wish they had was sunscreen for purchase. It was surprisingly difficult to get sunscreen once we were on the island which I did not anticipate, definitely recommend checking a bag so that you can bring good insect repellent and sunscreen. Overall though, I can't say enough great things about Hotel Chocolat. It was every bit as luxurious and romantic as Ladera and the views were breathtaking. You will not be disappointed.

The Tree to Bean is included in all Room stay packages. The Bean to bar is at an additional cost. These would need to be booked through the front desk on the day prior.

Seashell Beach was fantastic -- both the food AND the views. We also had a wonderful experience at Island Chef, which is strictly reservations because that's more of a pop-up situation. The chef operates out of a shack where they have the farmers market (I would NOT recommend the resort's "tour" of that market, which is basically someone showing you produce) and makes everything fresh for you. Heads up that it's cash only :)

There are many different services that offer private transfers. We used Barefoot Holidays. I would HIGHLY recommend paying for the expedited transfers that basically gets you to the head of the health check line and on your way. We did not know about this until we had already arrived. Would have saved us 2 hours in line.
