A perfect holiday, it had a real Caribbean feel to the whole hotel unlike some of the other islands. The rooms, all the staff were so welcoming. Plenty of sun beds so much so that no one ever reserved them . The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed a most interesting guided tour around the gardens were we learnt a lot more about the various plants and their uses and of course the birds. Wonderful spa where I had a back massage and facial using local plants from garden which was so much nicer than a lot in Uk. I also enjoyed the yoga and Pilates classes before breakfast which were given by excellent teachers and made it fun too. East Winds also helped by the guests, everyone was so friendly it felt like a real family. I don’t think it could be improved. Thank you to all the staff for making this holiday so special. We will definitely return as do the majority of guests.

East Winds is without doubt the most relaxing place we’ve ever stayed in - we smiled and luxuriated the whole 10 days we were there. To describe it in two words, I’d say “perfect balance” but it deserves a few more words… The setting is beautiful with ample sunbeds and seats nicely positioned around the beach to maintain the peace you want when you’re just lazing. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Wi-Fi coverage was complete. If you want to go out on the water, the watersports team (Joe, Eric, and Davon) are friendly and helpful. The grounds are special - calming and fascinating at the same time (you must do the garden tour with Sylvanus, the coolest and most knowledgeable curator and designer of the grounds with a vast range of trees and shrubs with all sorts of health benefits). The ubiquitous hummingbirds with feeding points all around were an added bonus. The food and wine selection was excellent - I thought I would have to measure the time I was there in kilos rather than days. The entertainment was just right to match the atmosphere. I really enjoyed the yoga, which is in a superb location with an excellent teacher (thanks, Jill!). What ties all this together to make that perfect balance and extra difference is the staff. They were simply great - attentive, friendly, and professional at the same time. From housekeeping to the ever-present restaurant and bar teams. Many thanks to Angel , Chantal , Charms, Danny & Jermaine & Harry and the rest of the kitchen team, Jess-se, Kirby, Kirwin, Miriam (great wine selection!), Mickel, Nicky, Robert, Selma, Septima, Simeon (good vibes, man!), Sylvia (cocktail queen), Titus, Windel (professor of rum) and any I’ve missed out. Credit must be due, of course, to the management as well for orchestrating this great balance and atmosphere. See you next time! Nick and Rachel

We have just returned from a fabulous trip to this most amazing beach resort – everything was perfect. The staff were absolutely amazing and looked after us so well; the food and drink were exceptional and our room was kept spotlessly clean. Entertainment was varied from a steel band to a pianist all of which were very good. The beach setting of East Winds is lovely and the well maintained gardens are a delight. The optional spa treatments are a bonus and well worth having by the lovely Theresa. Optional Excursions are arranged with East Winds and there are a variety of water activities available as well. Massive thanks to Natasha, Charms, Kerwin, Mikkel, Angel, Septima, Jes-se, Chanta, Miriam, Robert, Kirby, Nikey and to everyone else for which I apologise for not mentioning in name for such a fantastic vacation. To coin a phrase ‘we’ll be back’!

What can I say. This is a truly wonderful small beach resort in St Lucia. Everything was literally perfect. The staff were amazing and looked after us beautifully, the food and wines were a delight, our room was beautiful, peaceful and clean and the beach and gardens were stunning. There was a lovely variety of music with a pianist one night and a small Caribbean band another to name but a few. There was also a good selection of water sports and the team there were ace especially Davon who was so kind and patient and showed me how to paddle board and even took me out on the catamaran a few times which was such great fun. And the garden tour was great and so informative, learning about all the medicinal benefits of the plants. I could just go on but mainly I want to say a big thank you to you all for such a fantastic stay with you.

A laid back, tranquil haven. Beautifully landscaped, super cottage style rooms where the hummingbirds sip the nectar hung on your patio, and bull-finches sit on the arm of your chair. The pool is lovely and never overly busy, as most prefer the private beach... where there are always enough parasols & loungers. The food is great, as are the cocktails and champagne. The biggest asset are the staff. The service here is terrific. Not to forget the spa... the greatest pair of hands in the carribbean. Outings are arranged, by a master of hospitality, to suit the guest.. Good vibes Simeon. East Winds won't suit everyone.. the average age of guest is higher than most, and the entertainment reflects this. For me, one of the most all-round loveliest places I've ever stayed at. Charms, Theresa, Miriam and all the others... chefs, gardeners, bartenders, waiters, SALUT

We stayed in a beachfront suite at a cost of £1260 per night fully inclusive. This rate equates to many 5 star resorts in the Caribbean but East Winds is not 5 star and does not claim to be. It is a very warm and friendly place mainly accommodating Brits over the age of 60. One guest was a 99 year old fit and healthy guy! Many guests are returnees and one couple had been there 12 times so it obviously appeals to many time and time again. Whilst our suite was comfortable and the food was OK for us it lacked some of the panache we had expected. For example it would have been great to have a choice of better pillows to sleep on and for the food and its service to be more exemplary. The wine was OK but nothing special. It would have been lovely to have a nice plummy Aussie shiraz or something similar with our beef and lamb. The staff were delightful and always willing to help and the bar staff always remembered what we liked to drink. One couple who had been to East Winds several times were staying this year for 14 nights. They thought this was a mistake and that it is better to stay for 7 nights and then move on to another location. Many guests fly on to Bequia for their 2nd week to stay at the Bequia Beach Hotel that has a link to East Winds. Some guests claimed to have become a little bored and would have like the resort to offer more activities whilst others were happy to sunbathe day after day. Potential guests need to appreciate that the international airport is in the far south of St Lucia. It takes about 1 hour 40 minute to get to the East Winds and all the other resorts in the north of the island along a poor quality winding road. Traffic in St Lucia is also an issue with nose to tail slow moving traffic between Rodney Bay and Castries for most of the day. We had a lovely holiday and came home feeling relaxed but it could have been just a little bit better.

Dear 425RichardP425, Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a comprehensive review, we find it very useful to have balanced and honest reviews to help us improve and develop our service and hotel offering. I hope you had the opportunity to look at our additional wine list which allows guests to upgrade their wine if they want to and also our daily program of island excursions to give our guests the chance to go out and about on the beautiful island of St Lucia, experience the culture, the wildlife and the stunning scenery. I am so sorry that you didn't see our pillow menu! Guests are invited to let us know what sort of pillows they like and we are always willing to go the extra mile to accommodate any requests whatever they might be. Thank you for coming to stay at East Winds and I hope we do meet you again in the future, Judith

We were staying at a nearby resort and booked in for lunch with friends. we have stayed at East Winds before and we received a very warm welcome from the staff. We dined in a Cabana and had really good beef roti. Nice wines and great martinis. Lovely to see Windell, Robert/Richard , Germaine, and other members of staff. Grounds beautifully kept as usual and our stroll through the gardens was lovely. We are booked in in the summer and are really looking forward to it.

Our first time to St Lucia and we couldn't have found a better place to stay. Nestled in a 12 acre tropical garden this is a delightful, relaxed, very special hotel. The staff are always happy to help. The villas are dotted around the garden so you can be private but close to the pool, restaurant or beach. The food was excellent with a great choice of local and world cuisine. There are many things to do on the island but we often chose to stay in East Winds because it was so relaxing, beautiful and fun getting to know other guests.

Our first return trip to East Winds since travel restrictions were eased. Clearly they had been busy making sure that the hotel was in tip top shape to welcome back guests. A unique hotel set within a mature tropical garden decades in the making. Welcoming staff and excellent food.

The most magical place I’ve ever stayed. I couldn’t speak highly enough of this resort, it’s heaven on earth! The staff make you feel like you’ve gone to stay with family, they’re so wonderful and caring. The food and drinks are out of this world. The beach is stunning. If you want a relaxing, tropical paradise with a lot of soul then this is the place for you! We had the most wonderful time and can’t wait to go back.
