We travel to Catcha for a 10 day trip mid August. We stayed in the Star Cottage. It was perfect for us. Air conditioning in the bedrooms worked great. The large Patio was where we spent our time when not down on the cliffs. The staff was so friendly. We felt like family by the time we left. Ate many meals at Ivan’s and they were all terrific. The drinks are well made.We all had massages this trip and the massage therapist is phenomenal. I love size of the resort! Just enough to make it fun but not so big you can’t completely relax. Great location to walk to other great restaurants and a small grocery store. The taxi drivers who work with Catcha are terrific and will also play a game of dominoes with you as the night winds down. Can’t wait to go back for trip #3. This was my sister’s first trip to Jamaica and Catcha Falling Star. She loved it so much she booked a return trip for October 2020 before we left!

Everything about a stay at Catcha is magical. From the kind staff, to the delicious foods to the variety of villas you can call home during your stay. Of course the ambiance of the entire property is breathtaking. There is no other place on the Westend like Catcha. We've stayed at many places over the years but best believe we're only returning to Catcha Falling Star. One Love❣

We had a fantastic time at Catcha. My 16 and 19 year olds loved the resort and the cliffs. We were able to snorkel every morning and relax on the loungers and listen to the waves crash below. Top notch service. Everyone was kind and always attentive. We stayed in Moon which is really cute and private. It was a little hot with no AC but there are plenty of fans. Beautiful deck with hammock. Ivan’s is the best restaurant on the cliffs hands down. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner. My husband and I also did the 100 candle dinner one night which was fantastic. My son left his blanket in the room and Cassandra was able to find it and coordinate getting it Fed Ex’d back to us. Overall, we loved everything about our stay and can’t wait to return soon.

Amazing and I didn't even stay in a ocean view room. Felt like paradise. Ivan's restaurant is great. Shrimp wrapped in plantanes. Blackened snapper and best pineapple topping for French toast was so great with a mimosa. Great views walking distance from Rick's Cafe even tho was disappointed in ricks. Jumping the cliffs was unforgettable the sounds of the sea and sunsets are to die for. Great staff and housekeeping. Local bars are great that are nearby.

I am a repeat offender at Catcha Falling Star and I will be back. From Cassandra in the office to Chris, the groundskeeper, everyone at Catcha goes above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms are clean and airy and most of them have fantastic views of the sea. You wake to the sounds of the tuxedo doves and mocking birds and the gentle sounds of the sea on the rocks. It's paradise. I stayed in Venus for part of my trip and Sky for the other part of my trip. Venus is one of the corner one-bedroom villas. It was big for one person. But, the benefit to the villas is the ability to cook in the room. You have a full-size refrigerator, microwave, and a hotplate with the essentials for cooking (a few pots and utensils). There's a small grocery across the street and the folks who own it are very nice. If you want to save a few bucks on dining out, you can cook in your room in the villas. The sea breeze was fantastic during the trip and I didn't use the a/c once. Here's the drawback about the villas; there's only a/c in the bedroom. The rest of the space does not have a/c. If this a must-have for you, you might be disappointed with the villas. But, I can tell you that I didn't miss the a/c at all because the sea breeze was better than any a/c. The other minor drawbacks to consider are the dogs at Banana Shout. They do occasionally bark at night. Catcha can't control this. If you are sensitive to dogs barking (and the occasional rooster crowing), you might want to consider a different room than Venus. I live in the city, so these things didn't bother me. There is also a fantastic balcony with a breathtaking view in Venus. I moved to Sky for my final two days because I wanted a smaller room than Venus. Sky is just a room; but, it's a gorgeous room. There's a beverage refrigerator and a microwave. This room was better suited to a solo traveler. I loved that my bed faced the ocean and the first thing I saw in the morning was the sea. This room also has a fantastic balcony with a spectacular view. It also has a side porch with a table and chairs for dining. The cleaning staff come in every morning and they CLEAN. So, make sure you take care of them. Sonia took amazing care of me. The beds are amazingly comfy! Room service is available at no additional charge. I love the pool at Catcha. My favorite thing about the pool is the bridge. Because I am fair-skinned, I have to be careful in the hot Caribbean sun. The bridge gives me the ability to be in the pool and hide in the shade. There's nothing better than one of Randy's rum punches while sitting under the bridge in the pool. Chris does a great job keeping the pool pristine! Also, there is usually an ample supply of towels for the hotel guests. There are usually more lounge chairs, but Covid restrictions forced the hotel to remove some of them. That being said, there are plenty of chairs around the property. The best ones are the hidden ones down the stairs by the sea that nobody knows about (Shhhhhhh. Our secret). Swimming in the sea at Catcha is safe. But, you need to pay attention to the conditions. If you are unsure, you should ask one of the staff. When I was there, there was no lifeguard on duty. The rough seas can make it interesting if you're not a strong swimmer. However, when the sea is calm, DEFINITELY jump in the sea. It's worth it. It's a fantastic experience. It's not like the beach. The water is probably 30 or 40 feet deep and the snorkeling is unbelievable (there is gear available to borrow). Cassandra can arrange for a massage for you. Oya is the massage therapist that does the massages at Catcha. She is a friend of mine and I cannot say enough about how amazing she is. Her prices are very, very reasonable. Book a massage with Oya. You won't regret it. The office will also arrange your transport. Any of the drivers are great. I came out with Dandy and went home with my friend, Jubba. Both of these drivers I trust, utterly. Locally, I wouldn't hesitate to use PT, Henry, or Jason for trips to town. They are good friends and excellent, trustworthy drivers. If something goes wrong and you are unhappy, talk to the staff. They will make it right. These are good people who work hard and want you to be happy and comfortable. They will make it right. The hotel will arrange a return Covid test for you. The cost is $60 US and the nurse comes directly to your room. It's not a brain scrape and you get the results instantaneously. I consider the people at Catcha Falling Star and Ivan's Bar to be friends. When I come back after having been gone for years, they remember me and I get welcomed home with hugs (well, not this trip due to Covid) and smiles. I am so very glad to be part of the Catcha family. I highly recommend Catcha Falling Star.
