I love this hotel . The staff is awesome . The rooms are very comfortable. You act feel relaxed after staying here . This was my first solo trip . The security here is excellent. Most guests talk and get to know each other . French pressed coffee made to order. I can’t wait to come back .
We came back a couple of weeks ago from a wonderful visit. The front desk manager was fantastic and helped arrange laundry and Covid testing. Claudia is fabulous as always in the restaurant and making sure we are taken care for all our meals and drinks. Moto and Fitzroy prepare the most delicious meals and work with us on our food allergies. Just really above and beyond. So glad we went back after not being to travel to Jamaica for an extended period due to Covid. This is our favorite Jamaican hotel and we will continue to return year after year.
We just returned from a week at Idle Awhile. My husband and I had previously stayed at Couples CSA and really wanted to stay within the Issa family of properties. We were so happy with our stay. We had the one bedroom ocean view suite and it was a huge room with great balcony. The beach was amazing and you have access to paddle boards, kayaks, floaties and Hobie Cat. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and had everything we needed. ODane was so helpful on the beach setting up chairs, watching our things if we went for a walk and ensuring nothing got wet when the afternoon rain sower hit- he was awesome! Carlton was such a treat at the restaurant also Shane and Claudia. All of the guards were amazing- Andrew, Garfield and everyone else I’m missing. Housekeeping was super nice and did a fantastic job. We had one mixup with our return Covid test that management quickly corrected. If you fly Southwest just make sure you get your test at the very least 48 hours out - while you get verbal results right away- it takes a full 24 hours to get printed results. Overall, we enjoyed everything and every meal we had at the restaurant was incredible. We can’t wait to return.…
Idle Awhile never disappoints! Even during Covid, it;s a little slice of Heaven. Its was very weird to have only 5-6 other couples staying there and very few beach vendors, especially the weekend after Easter when things closed on Saturday at noon and stayed closed until Monday. We ate many wonderful meals there, housekeeping did their regular wonderful job in the room, beach chairs were set up as usual and the Red Stripes were flowing! Claudia took wonderful care of us all week and they made it very easy to get your test before heading back to the States. Please support Jamaica, they need your business more then ever! They are doing a wonderful job at staying masked, sanitizing and keeping everyone safe.
My wife and I stayed at Idle Awhile Beach villas in late February and had an amazing, romantic and memorable time -- our 3rd trip to Negril and the best accommodations by far. Ryan and Austin (our butler and chef) were perfect hosts and attended to every detail of our stay, from delicious meals and drinks to recommended excursions and even sneakily arranging (with my beautiful wife) a surprise beach dinner with a local guitarist and a bonfire which lit up the entire 7 mile beach. The villa was spacious and clean and right beside a nice wide (100 ft) swath of beach seemingly just for us. Admittedly, when travellers resume their post-covid pilgrimage to Negril, it may not be as quiet (and perfect) as we experienced. But, Idle Awhile will still be a stand out choice for those (like us) looking for high quality service and private space so close to one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. We shall return!…
