Entire place is great, dolphin experience was wonderful for the kids, restaurants all have great food and servers but Marjorie our housekeeper was the best. Even the COVID testing ran smoothly. Definitely try the flow rider, the staff are great teachers.
So overall I love this resort. My main complaints have to do with COVID restrictions, and we also went during a Jamaican shutdown 4 of the 5 days we were there over Easter Break. My biggest complaint... why must I wear a mask while walking outside, on the beach, or sidewalk, walking by myself? We have to test negative to get there, must test negative to return home. Why so stringent outdoors? I totally understand at restaurants, and even in lobby; but outside is rather ridiculous. Maybe its due to the Jamaican government but it really doesn't make sense. I also don't understand why the resort would choose to shut down the outside breakfast at Pier 8. It was the best on our other stays here, it is outside, which is better in terms of COVID; also the Sundeck, closed for dinner? Open the outside locations if you are really concerned about the spread of covid, instead of having everyone go to indoor locations. I do understand if staff is slim, but it would make more sense to utilize the outdoor areas more in my opinion. Most of the Food was good, coffee at Boulangerie was really good, jerk hut was great, Italian La Gondola was nice, Momo was really good both regular table and teppanyaki and Our teppanyaki chef, 'Delicious', was very good and entertaining and it was probably our best meal. However, the Pier 8 Steak house was NOT good, the steak was the most unflavored, tough, and overcooked steak I have had, but 2 of our guest had the pork chop and was happy with it. I think the resort tried to entertain the guest with the night shows and band, which was a nice treat. As expected, Some of the normal activities were not available due to COVID, plus the resort had a lot of locals, so simple things like snorkeling, fly board, etc was booked, which was disappointing. Our guests had a good time with the dolphins. Our massages were really good, I cannot wait until the full spa services open again. Veronica our VIP Guest concierge, was attentive and helpful throughout our stay.. ODAINE and NICKEISHA on the beach were excellent pool/beach concierges, they were Very attentive, friendly, and on time. Cannot say enough good things about them. One more thing.. why is there such as issue selling the scent sprays and diffusers. I was looking forward to getting more, but that was another thing on hold or cancelled... Overall nice trip. I cannot wait to go back, but would really like if some of the covid rules were lightened a bit and more things are open and available.…
Nickeisha and Althea were our diamond beach servers and they were amazing! So friendly and great service for the Caribbean life style! We also had that part of the beach almost to ourselves! We loved floating every day. Water is gorgeous! We also live our sommelier Jasón!
Hotel has much to offer from different dining option; asian, jamaican, italian to seafood, it was just all amazing, the spa is beautiful and the treatments to die for. We love the room, we had junior suite which was stunning and had a nice ocean view, thank to George at check in for a awesome welcome and a great first impression, we enjoyed the pools they were just a right fit for the warm weather. The fact that this is all inclusive just amazes me.
Don’t go here. You can do better. I wish I did. Checking in - longest 45 minutes of my life. They still got the room keys wrong even after we went back to the front desk. Nothing in any fridges upon arrival. One room was still dirty from previous guest upon arrival. Luggage took HOURS to get to room. Food is mediocre. Would rather eat at a gas station. After sitting in a van for 1.5 hours from the airport we had high hopes. This place is a huge let down. Maybe 2-3 stars.
