The Eco-Lodge surpassed our expectations. We loved our 4 day stay there and wished it could have been for a longer time. There is so much to do in the area and the lodge is the perfect place to experience all that the Arenal has to offer. It is not too close to crowded La

This is our 2nd stay at Chachagua and it did not disappoint! The grounds are spectacular! The paths are lined with porter weed plants which are hummingbird magnets. So, there are many hummingbirds buzzing around everywhere. There are beautiful, mature plants surrounding the

We stayed at Chachagua during off season in November choosing a bungalow for our stay. Pro's ~ nature & the surroundings - the area around is really nicely maintained and the fact that you can walk in the jungle all of yourself and around the property to see both nature and

Dear Justine_Sade, We want to thank you for having dedicated part of your valuable time to comment your experience at Chachagua Rainforest. We are glad to know that you have been able to enjoy a natural environment like ours, it is very important for us that our guests enjoy and fall in love with the nature that surrounds us and that we like to share. With respect to your cons, we would like to clarify some things that we could possibly have clarified during your stay and thus your sensations or impressions would be different. -We have a mission and a responsibility with our environment, the use of shampoo and soap dispensers, is part of our good environmental practices in order to avoid waste and reduce the ecological impact caused by plastic waste. In addition, we tell you that hair dryers and mini-fridges have been placed in the Deluxe and Premium Bungalow rooms. -With regard to breakfast, our guests have the possibility of requesting as much fruit as they wish, even if they do not see it, it is a pity that you did not mention this during your stay. -Regarding the issue of the envelope in bed, we want to comment that it is optional and is a practice that is used in hotels around the world. Up to today, no client has been annoyed or offended by this type of practice, which we repeat, are carried out in many hotels, large chains or small hotels not only in Costa Rica but around the world. -On the subject of cleaning, we would love to understand exactly what is your specific complaint, it is important to take into account that we are in a unique natural environment and although we take measures so that insects do not enter or that the leaves that fall from the trees are collected immediately, nature is free and that is part of the charm of this area, that's why it is a place chosen by so many nature lovers. -The road to the hotel can already be said to be in perfect condition for cars, and at the end of January it will be paved. The access to the rooms when crossing the river is part of the adventure of being in an Ecolodge and one of the attractions that our guests like so much. We appreciate your comments, it is always a pleasure to know about your experience. Chachagua Rainforest

Fantastically located on beautiful grounds with a lot of on-site hiking trails. Rooms lack some basic amenities; hair dryers, mini fridges (my family member had medications to keep cool and we had to get in a fridge from the restaurant), hours of restaurant operation

It's very hard to get to this place! We got lost and found a nice man that we followed to the entrance to the road to get there place. If you are going to drive a night to it it's scary to say the least. The road is not paved and it's very dark, no lights and with some narrow hilly roads. If you can afford a driver then do so. There are no real signs for it. I did it because I had already rented a car for a week and drove from the capital so couldn't do much but drive.

Yes I agree with JD778, this is a forum for feedback about the resort. But having stayed there, I would just advise you to still cancel with them directly and have some sort of email receipt that you tried. My experience with them regarding another situation and refund, they said I had to go through a third party as well....and its still ongoing. If you want to cancel you should do it quickly otherwise you will probably lose your entire deposit.

Yes the fruit is safe to eat and the water is safe to drink. There was a high level of cleanliness at even the smallest soda cafés, no stomach problems to report.
