Definitely doing it again.
30 min from the coast, 30 from main inland activities... great location
Even if want to stay in the palace you can spend days looking at all the arts.
And the manager, so help full will make your stay even feel better.

Probably the most amazing looking guesthouse we’ve ever stayed in and we search out interesting places to stay. And the gorge it overlooks is spectacular.
I got caught in the rain in Durban and I was shivering when we checked in.
The hosts washed and dried my clothes that day and gave me a fluffy robe to warm up. The shower was hot and had the best water pressure.
The bed was comfortable and the hotel suite was very spacious with a separate living room and balcony.
The guesthouse is full of art, sculpture and there is a library of books.

I had a lovely, relaxing star at Ammazulu. Beautiful area, lots of space. Big bedroom, bathroom, patio area. Lovely breakfast. It was very useful to have a coffee station and fridge in the room and the use of the microwave in the kitchen. Great staff, clean rooms and was undisturbed. I also felt very much at home!

We booked a delux room as we were told it had fans in the room and doors and windows that opened. We could not leave windows open as we were warned about the monkeys that were brazen enough to come into the room. The only fan in the room was one upright fan in the bedroom. That is not delux. The room was very dusty and the furniture very uncomfortable

Most wonderful stay. Would be nice if light meals would be offered (even toasted sandwiches or the like) and stocking the bar fridges (to be paid on departure of course), but otherwise can't complain. Don't expect much privacy (or ventilation) when using the bathroom.

Shame about no breakfast. I should have paid more attention when booking, and would have stayed somewhere else had I known. Secondly air conditioning that is not connected is not on, as is having a fan in the room with a euro plug but no adaptor supplied. Luckily I'd brought one with me so managed to solve the problem. Other than that, a great venue and will stay again when next in the area.

Wow is definitely the first word that came out of my mouth when arriving. The decor is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. Such care and attention to detail. It’s spectacular.

We had a warm welcome from Alta who checked us in quickly and showed us to our room.

We treated ourselves to the presidential suite and WOW again! Views of the gorge, super comfy bed. Amazing shower.

Breakfast was made fresh starting with fruit, yoghurt and cereal, then a good old fry up. Fruit juice and coffee was flowing.

I couldn’t fault it.

Aircon would have been nice but the fan worked well enough

A lovely stay and I am already recommending it to everyone I speak to.

This is a hotel like no other! so perfectly built with so many zulu artifacts from the entrance to the rooms. The presidential suite was exquisite. It is about 30 minutes away from the central areas so quite and very good for a getaway and meditation. The staff were so kind and made my birthday special with a custom made breakfast (that they didn't charge me for)! Only 10 rooms so you feel like you have the whole place to yourself. I am definitely planning a trip back!

Reception was very welcoming. Very clean rooms comfortable bed. Unfortunately no aircon but a fan was supplied. The toilet seat was quite damaged. Overall very neat and clean. Perhaps a little over priced.

This is a lovely place for a simple and hustle-free getaway. I went as a solo traveler and enjoyed the luxury and friendly treatment from the staff. I recommend it for anyone wanting to feel like you're in a local palace / art museum / adventure. The units are large, huge ceilings, lovely local art and very good internet connection for those wanting to work from a nice place.
