The lodge is an oasis of peace and quiet. For us, this was the sixth and final stop of our trip. We even booked an extra (third) night here, because we found such peace and quiet in the lodge's huge garden among the citrus groves. With our three children, we stayed in a hut with two adjoining rooms. The word hut is an understatement for the very luxurious feeling of the rooms. This is due to the sober but tasteful decor, the great king size beds and the beautiful bathroom with spacious shower. The huts are cleverly arranged, giving you a great sense of privacy, while both the restaurant (where you can have breakfast and dinner) and the pool and playground (highly appreciated by the kids) are all close by. The lodge has a very family atmosphere because of the friendly presence of owner Linda and her son Chris (who organizes day activities and can take you to unique places that you would never be able to see or do on a regular guided tour - check out his company Criss Cross Adventures). If there is one place in SA where we would come again, it is this one.…
After our last visit what was perfect ,3 years back,we found now on a new trip a completely service’s less and aged ,non mentained lodge. Nobody helping with luggage.,in the lodge, lots of animals, beetles and other insects , comming probable from the roof what needs urgently maintenance. The kichen choice of 5 dishes, every day the same, serviced in the restaurant by a so called chef in swimming short and slippers. Choice of 3 wines (due to covid,he had to trow wine away whyle it was to old !!!) Then the payment,no card machine option ..(to expensive due to covid !!) Only positive point was the breakfast.
Chrislin African Lodge * 10/10 * Great, spacious Room (Sunset Huts) * Reasonably Good Wifi, although we were on the edge of the network-range * All buildings really well maintained * Really nice breakfast * Friendly staff * Good location * Nice play-area for kids in the restaurant * Kids-chair available in the restaurant Bart, Katrien, Wout & Leon
Our family recently spent four lovely nights at Chrislin. We were self catering all our needs were met the staff were really superb. We enjoyed breakfast in their dining area it was really most enjoyable and a good way to start the day. One night we ate in their restaurant another excellent meal. The staff and hostess made our stay enjoy. Would we return OF Course It was a perfect place to explore Addo and the region
We stayed at Chrislin a few weeks ago for a two night stop over and visit to Addo Elephant Park. Linda & Jean couldn't have made us feel more welcome. The rooms where very spacious and clean. The grounds are beautifully kept. Breakfast and dinner was excellent. They arranged a full day guided tour of Addo for us with Chriscross adventure tours. Got to see a huge amount of animals. Chrislin is located very close to the main gate at Addo and is a perfect safe place to stay if you are visiting the area. You wont be disappointed... great value for money.
The people are so warm, welcoming and friendly. They wanted to go above and beyond for us to have lunch when we arrived. We also ran late for breakfast and they still gave us a full service and a complete menu....with freshly squeezed juice from oranges picked from the yard. The rooms are very spacious. The lodge is very close to activities and other hotels.
Highly recommending;) the staff is so nice you forgot about the annoying mosquitoes (just a few of them) :) thank you so much, if possible, we’re totally coming back :) nice clean rooms with a comfy terrace:) food was amazing as well and we had been well cared of by the nicest people :)
Peaceful, serene, tranquil holiday with 2 small children, in beautiful surroundings with Addo Elephant Park at your doorstep. Amazing hospitality, generous breakfasts and delicious dinners. Swimming pool, play and lapa area. Braai facilities.
We loved our stay at the charming Chrislin African Lodge. It oozes all the charm you'd expect from a small lodge in the bush and is full of warm hospitality. Due to the popularity of the lodge, we ended up staying one night in a smaller room and two nights in a larger one, but both were absolutely lovely. I will say that our first room did not have air conditioning so it got a bit warm even with the windows open at night, but the second room had excellent A/C and we were very comfortable; I recommend making sure you get a room with A/C because the windows don't have screens. The grounds are pristine and the rooms are spotlessly clean. There are wonderful public areas like the open air seating/reading area under a classic thatched roof. There's a swimming pool that was glorious after a long day of game drives. The hospitality was absolutely wonderful. Particularly, Nadia is an amazing hostess and makes sure that every guest feels like a VIP. Breakfasts were delicious and very filling. Dinner is available each night for a fixed price; it was good but I would have liked a larger dessert. Their milk tart was delicious but I wanted more than a shot glass size. What can I say, I have a sweet tooth and their desserts are divine. There's also some good nearby restaurants so if you have a car you can change up where you eat. Connected with the lodge is Criss Cross Adventures for game drives in the Addo and other local activities and I cannot recommend them enough. They are an excellent outfit and our game drives were excellent. We did a full day in the Addo and a half day on river canoes and we were totally satisfied. In closing, I highly recommend Chrislin and Criss Cross Adventures for your stay near the Addo National Park. It was a peaceful, magical place to stay.…
It was quite hot for late summer and we didn't have a/c but the ceiling fan kept us cool enough overnight. We enjoyed our two nights. The room was reasonably well equipped and meals ever so good, with reasonable prices for wine. We paid more than usual on the trip for the accommodation but felt that it was good value (especially compared to some of the private game reserves) because it included a full day Addo game drive with CrissCross Adventures. In the afternoon it was just us and our driver, in a big open sided vehicle and we saw lions, and ostrich display, an angry elephant advancing on us and had a wonderful time.
