Happy Lands is a very special place. It is a beautiful oasis of peace and calm. It has soul. It's not just any bed and breakfast.
For the weary traveler it is a place where you are immediately welcomed into the fold, like family.
The rooms are pretty, well appointed, properly outfitted. The garden is an Eden, planted with love and tended with care. The personnel and service : kind, accommodating and immediate. The dogs and cats : loving, obedient, friendly, adorable.
On a practical level:
You can order dinner (which I recommend as it is good food, - South African recipes which is cool - and then you don't have to drive 10k to find a place to eat) and also the game drive offered is excellent value.
Should you wish to self cater, best to bring food with you as there is no easy shopping nearby.
The best proof I can give is that I came back to stay here again after the wonderful stay I had last year.
Thank you Mike and Neeta for sharing your beautiful home with strangers and making it feel like home to them, too. I will be back!

We arrived with 6 overseas guests and the safari with Emmanuel was perfectly organized. The farm is beautiful and rooms spacious and very comfortable. The hosts were lovely and friendly. I will definitely stay here again. I recommend guests make alternative arrangements for dinner in town maybe..we had it on the premises next door and thought it was not good value for money. R225 PP for a very small portion of basic food.

We enjoyed our stay and felt very at home as Nita and Mike made us feel like we were old friends and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming the opposite to what one experiences at an impersonal large hotel. The emphasis is on comfort rather than luxury and Poppy the family dog added to the feel of family and belonging. Set in a citrus farm it is a peaceful haven where one really feels detatched from the rat race. Some better signage may help as it is a little off the beaten track but that is really part of its charm. We took advantage of taking a trip to Addo organised by Happylands as we felt we could enjoy the experience fully without having to concentrate on driving. We did not regret it as our guide was able to answer our questions and allowed us to just sit back and relax and take in the scenery. We also visited Adrenaline owned by Nitas son and enjoyed a nice evening meal there and I did a zipline there on the morning of our departure so I could leave South Africa on a high!

We experienced an armed robbery here, 5 masked men with steel pipes smashed the door and grabbed everything from our room. No guards to be seen. Besides a sorry phone call from the owners we just paid for the stay and have sought legal advice to compensate the loos of our belongings.

Even though this incident happened more than a year ago, we are still not able to express our absolute horror at it, especially with having all the security measures in place - electric fencing, remote controlled access, burglar bars, security gates and 3 alert dogs. The safety and security of our guests is our number one priority and we will always try and ensure that our guests have a safe stay as well as a happy one! We hope that the financial compensation given to you will ease the trauma of what you went through.

We had a wonderful stay at Mike and Nita’s home. We been there with our boy (1 year old) and it was unforgettable. They have a huge garden we’re we could play with our little one. In the Morning they served us a lovely breakfast including self made lemon juice from their own farm. That was so yummy. Both are very wonderful people. It feels like staying at home. The apartment was very clean and lovely decorated. I can warmly recommend this place to families and everyone else, thanks to Mike and Nita for making our vacation just perfect

Rooms were amazing, very chic, air con, safe, big bathroom. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good with delicious homemade juices and jams. We had a fabulous game drive with their guide Emmanuel.
Slight drawback was a wet day travelling and in unfamiliar gravel roads which clearly owners have no control over. A lovely stay

This was one of our stops from the Garden Route back to Joburg. Happy Land Farmstay was an incredible experience. We went fro a self drive in the Addo National Park but mostly we wanted to stay on the serene and scenic property to swim, braai and mostly relax in the beautifully decorated room with a king size bed. And the breakfast we had was incredible. Would stay for longer if we could.

The greeting we received upon arrival was a warm, friendly one. Our children loved the room the dogs and the little park. We loved the space and the beautiful setting. It has a non-commercialized, family feel to it which is exactly what we needed.

The get away was a surprise from my Husband for us all, and a very spontaneous one at that, but even though it was booked at very short notice, everything was there that we needed and was spotlessly clean.

It is close to Addo Elephant park, which was only a short drive away (just be prepared for non-tarred roads, but that is common in S.A)

I cannot praise it enough and will defiantly be staying there again. In fact we are booking our friends in as a surprise for their 10th Wedding Anniversary.

Highly recommend Happy Lands Farmstay. Convenient proximity to Addo Elephant Park. Hosts Mike and Nita are warm and welcoming and make every guest feel like a valued family member. The accommodation is gorgeous and very comfortable. Comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. Lush, shady garden and a swimming pool to enjoy after a morning spent doing game drives in Addo. Self-catering and braai facilities available but dinner and breakfast also available if you prefer a catered option. We will be definitely be going back.

Found a lovely B&B in Addo. Thanks Mike & Nita for being super hosts. Your little spot in the valley is so peaceful, beautifully appointed rooms with everything that one needs. Well done for keeping going during these times, it's a noteworthy achievement. Top class breakfast and thanks for serving it earlier than usual. Thanks for serving me dinner aswell. I will be back again.
Cheers for now.
