Broadlands Country House is a well run establishment with great attention to detail. The rooms are spacious and clean and the house is equiped with everything you need for your stay. The swimming pool and entertainment area is a huge bonus in the Kirkwood summer. I recommend this venue to anyone looking for some peace and quiet along with added luxuries in this little oasis.
We spend a lovely 3 nights at the estate, we stayed in the self catering cottage. The cottage is beautifully decorated and spacious and has a very peaceful setting on a dam and beautiful gardens surrounding it. We loved our stay
A wonderfully peaceful place with especially comfortable bed and room with old world charm. Excellent and very helpful staff. A lovely pool and a beautiful setting. An excellent evening meal on arrival and breakfast the next morning.
Travel round this part of S A is easy and even if it seems a few extra miles to get to Kirkwood from Addo it is worth it for a lovely stately home style atmosphere at Broadlands. The citrus groves, lake and avenue were all lovely and restful. Nicole, Patricia and Lesha were all very helpful with arrangements. Eat at Broadlands. There is not a great deal at Kirkwood. Happy to recommend
Broadlands country house is the most beautiful lodges we had the pleasure to use on our trip across South Africa over a 3 week tour. Set in beautiful gardens and surroundings with faultless interior we throughly appreciated the settings. The staff were also wonderful. Lisha was so kind, gracious, and welcoming. We had a warm welcome and enjoying the accommodation so much we had to amend out initial plans to make use of the facilities and beautiful set swimming pool. The communal spaces and rooms were also faultless with everything you could ask for, including plenty of towels and a huge range of hot drinks. There was an honesty bar for late night drinks and snacks. The breakfast was amazing, a delightful English breakfast on offer as well as a range of buffet snacks, fresh fruit, and alternative options. The ideal setting for a quiet getaway whilst still being close enough to enjoy the Addo Elephant park as well as other attractions in the area. Socks the lodge cat was also a delight. A huge thank you to Lisha for making it such a relaxed and enjoyable stay. …
